Tree House Hostel

The hostel is nice and it offers a clean swimming pool but no hygiene. Kitchen used to be almost ALWAYS stinky and full of flies. Dirty dishes everywhere and the smell used to block any appetite to eat. Staff is based on volunteers who lack basic of tourism or how to communicate with guests. The argentinean volunteer once got into my room with a new guest and told her where to hang her clothes, where another guest had some clothes hanging but she removed his clothes to somewhere else while some of them fall on the floor and she didnt even pick them up. After she left, I had to take them up instead because no guest deserves to see his clothes on the floor. A staff member should should NEVER touch the personal items of a guest! Same volunteer used to respond to my inquiries on the reception in spanish. Most luckily her english is bad and she doesnt feel confident trying to speak english but thats a question of the criteria for selecting a volunteer. Another italian volunteer came once drunk with a friend around midnight and entered the room to wake-up someone to join them partying talking very loudly in the room. That indicates less guest privacy due to the volunteers' unprofessional behaviour. The manager once posted on the whatsapp group ordering the guests in a rude way to 'GO CLEAN NOW'.. I believe the rudeness comes from lack of communication and problem solving skills. Attached a screenshot. After my first night, I got bitten and asked to get the bed cleaned which happened already but next night same happened so I asked the manager to either change bed or put the mattress in the sun to kill any bed bugs, she said yes but they just changed the bed sheets again, later I had the chance to change the bed. Long story short, The hostel has potential, but it is undermined by poor hygiene standards and a lack of professional training and oversight for volunteers. I strongly recommend implementing stricter rules for volunteer conduct

This was by far the worst hostel experience I have ever had. First of all, I got bed bugs. My skin is having a horrible reaction — red, itchy spots that kept getting worse and even bled when scratched. I’m so angry! This alone is already unacceptable, but unfortunately it was only one part of the nightmare. The room was incredibly dirty, far beyond anything I’ve ever seen. I’ve stayed in hostels all across Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe, and this was by far the worst experience. The property looks nice from the outside with the pool and all, but don’t let that fool you. Inside, it’s chaos. The kitchen is disgusting. Every time people cook, they leave everything behind — food scraps, spills, and even cracked eggshells all over the floor. Half of the food ends up on the ground, and nobody cleans after themselves. It genuinely looked worse than a dumpster. I also saw rats inside the room, walking around openly. Completely unacceptable and unsafe. Between the rats, the filth, and getting bed bugs, this was the most shocking hostel stay I’ve ever had. I would never recommend this hostel to anyone, not even to my worst enemy. If you’re looking for something affordable or thinking of working remotely, please do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

Got bit by bed bugs, personnel reacted asap with deep cleaning on the same day.

Total unhygienisch. Überall sehr schmutzig. Das Bett war voller Bettwanzen, sodass ich um 1 Uhr nachts aufgrund der vielen Stiche das Bett verlassen musste. An der Rezeption wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass kein anderes Bett verfügbar sei, also musste ich im Auto übernachten. Im Hostel war die ganze Nacht krach durch Besoffene und durch die schlechte Lage am Flufhafen, da regelmäßig die startenden Flufzeuge über das Hostel flogen. Absoluter Albtraum!

Unfortunatelly i got badly bit by bed bugs. Bed bugs in matress. Avoid at all cost.!!!

Staff are rude, unapproachable, and created an atmosphere. Activities do not run on time, if at all. Food bought was stolen from designated area (linked to room, bed number) in kitchen on 3 occasions. No notice given for deep clean in rooms, and bed bugs were found in room AFTER deep clean. Loose tiles on the outside shower. Loose wires in kitchen. Not enough tea towels. (I saw a staff member rip a big towel in to sections to create tea towels which were not big enough to grab a 2 handled pan from a hot stove., No hot water in kitchen. Not enough sun loungers, and some were broken. Benches, and chairs were broken outside rooms, in the centre, near the tree, by the pool/bar in the shaded area, and the chairs where you wait for the free shuttle service.

Wifi sehr schwankend und nicht zuverlässig für Videocalls, eine Fliegenplage und in vielen Zimmern Bettwanzen, an deren Beseitigung nur inkonsequent gearbeitet wird. Halbe Stunde Fußweg zum nächsten Ort über eine Schotterpiste mit Baustellen. Und es ist schon oft laut bis spätabends/nachts.
