CÀLM Appart’ & Hostel

The hostel windows in room C are open to the street, (it is impossible to shut them) and the street was full of loud partying all night long. So the dorm room was so loud all night, as if the street party were happening in the room. It was very hard to fall asleep.

Cet hostel n'a de calme que le nom. Les chambres se trouvent au souplex (autrement dit, à la cave). La seule espèce de fenêtre sous le plafond donne sur le trottoir, et c'est très mal isolé, ce qui fait qu'on entend la rue comme si on y était, surtout les gens bourrés la nuit. En plus, il y avait des courants d'air, et j'ai eu très froid. J'ai rarement aussi mal dormi. Et pour finir : la serviette, le cadenas et le café sont à payer en supplément, ce qui est vraiment honteux vu déjà...

I stayed in the female dorm. The beds were a very nice and comfortable size. You have your own curtains which is always nice. Staff were helpful and it was clean, had everything you need. Location is great, very central. Just not a big hostel, so common area is on the smaller side. Very expensive, but I have come during the olympics so that was to be expected. Otherwise I would recommend if you’re visiting Lille 🙂

C’est précisé avec sdb dans la chambre et au final il faut traverser la salle commune pour accéder à la sdb, c’était sale et aucune aération dans la chambre ..

Not a social hostel in the slightest, felt very awkward interacting with other travellers. If you want privacy and alone time this might be for you.

lovely place, but unfortunately there was mold. especially in the toilet.

Hostel is super centraal, bunk bedden hebben gordijnen, bagage mag je zowel bij aankomst als vertrek nog in het hostel laten liggen. Super fijn! Minpunten: heel gehorig doordat het raam aan de straatkant zit (oordoppen aanbevolen), niet voor mensen met claustrofobie want hostel zit in de kelder.

CALM has a great location, which is the true bonus, but the hostel rooms are in the basement with no natural light, the bathrooms smell like the sea, and there is no social vibe whatsoever. The rooms were very modern and clean, and I did like the bed and locker spaces as well.

Very comfortable hostel with places to relax inside. Extremely central to anywhere you need to travel. Many restaurants, grocery stores, main tourist areas, and the Euralille Shopping mall just a few steps away. Little noisy as it's so central, but definitely worth it. Take a tram ride, a few steps away.

Rooms -especially beds- are amazing. Best hostel I have stayed so far. The staff is really helpful, especially the lady that I could not get the name. Best spot for Lille

Very nice hostel, feels extremely private as the beds are spacious and have curtains. The location is perfect, it's very close to Lille Flanders station, and Westfield for shopping. The staff were very friendly, even let me store my luggage before my check in time. Being a solo female traveller, I felt safe. The washrooms were clean as well.I would recommend carrying ear plugs as the windows are not soundproofed and even the slightest sound outside can be heard, not great for a sound sleep.

Just a 10 minute walk from the main station. The baggage storage facility is handy, the staff were helpful and the beds are simply incredible! How all hostel beds should be!!!

Een echte aanrader

Great location close to both train stations 3 minute walk. Big mall with big supermarket 2 minute walk subway 30 second walk. Old town 2 minute walk. The bed pods with curtains are outstanding private and comfy. Showers are new fresh. Place is clean and quiet. Has full kitchen. Staff is great. Atmosphere was quite not very social, bunch of asylum seeker types. Price was like 20 euros a night, great value. Highly recommend.

Great stay at Calm Hostel. Bunk beds provided a bit of privacy and everything seemed new and in good shape. Location is also really good and very close to the train stations

super ideal if just staying for a night--the bed is really comfy, and super close to the central station. not much of a social vibe, so don't come here if that's what you're looking for! but i love a black out curtain

My biggest complaint was the staff. the lady is nice but the man is rude. i arrived 7am having travelled 14h, i was sick and desperate to sleep. i asked if there was a chance for an early check in, he said 'no', he didnt even check if it was possible,or apologise,he did not care. next 2 days, the people who checked out in my dorm, their beds were cleaned by 1115, so an early check in was possible. facilities are clean and nice, room is noisy from street, bring earplugs.

Best hostel I’ve stayed at except for the ocasional smell of sewer gas. Otherwise it is just a really good deal with clean big beds and big lockers!

Location super close to the station. All dorms are in the cellar. No windows.

El lugar esta super bien ubicado, igual los espacios bien adaptados, hay lockers, e igual limpio, con acceso a la cocina, la gente llega a dormir, y ni quien te quiera hacer platica, (ideal si eres medi@ introvertid@) solo pase una noche, fue mi primer hostal y espero que los próximos sean como este. Sobre el area de baño, igual privado lo que son las regaderas.

Les photos laissent pas entendre que Les lits sont au sous sol sinon je l'aurais jamais reservé... pas juste... Le rapport qualité prix reste Bon pour l'emplacement vraiment stratégique mais j'y retournerai pas .

Really great location! The dorm room was clean and individual bed space was pretty spacious and it has a curtain so have a good privacy. The only thing could be the loudness of outside, because the window in the dorm room was kept opened. I don’t mind personally, but definitely bring a earplugs if you can’t sleep in such situations. I’d love to come back if I’m going to visit Lille again.

A very nice hostel for backpackers. Much better than lots of hostels.

Shower could use a good deep clean but other than that it was good, liked that the beds and lockers were spacious

Aanrader! Dicht bij het centrum, proper en gevarieerd ontbijt! De prijs-kwaliteit is top! Zelfs veel kwaliteit voor de prijs die je betaald.
