Hostel Da Bruna Botafogo

Paid more for a female dorm and got out in a mixed- something that has never happened to me. Cold showers, stinky rooms, honestly worse room I’ve ever stayed in and ac is barely on. First night made me and another girl move around 4 times at like 5am literally woke her up. They refused to give me a refund when I said I don’t feel comfortable in a mixed which is why I paid for female dorm… overall bad experience also there is no bar here lol. I loved Gabriel staff member but that’s it…

The worst hostel experience so far. Even though the hostel advertises that they have AC, they only turn it on from 22-08 (reality 22:30-08) and it barely helps. The lockers are carved into rough cement/stone, scraping up backpacks (mine got holes). One day when I returned to the room, my bedsheets where stripped, my stuff thrown in a trash bag and a new person had taken my bed. Another traveller told me that the staff hade advised the guest to do it (you have to make your own bed apon arrival).

Muy, muy antiguo y húmedo el lugar, el aire acondicionado casi no funcionaba, considerar que hay que subir mas de 5 pisos con el equipaje para acceder a recepción y luego recién dirigirte a tu cuarto aprox unos 3 pisos mas

awful service, room smell of humedy and all my clothes were left with that smell, had to pay 20 reales to get the ac turn on. staff was not that great either

felt very unsafe. people were using drugs in the terrace, was so scary. staff was not friendly

Unser Zimmer hat sehr stark nach Schimmel gestunken. An den Wänden waren Spinnweben, Spinnen und andere Krabbeltiere. Unter der Matratze lag eine volle Mülltüte, die sehr gestunken hat. Die abschließbaren Spinde waren nicht funktionsfähig (man hätte sie leicht aufbrechen können). Das Badezimmer wurde nicht gereinigt, das benutzte Klopapier (was nicht mehr in den Mülleimer gepasst hat) und andere benutzte Hygieneartikel lagen auf dem Boden. Eu não tinha nem chegado no hostel e já haviam me mandado mensagem querendo que pagasse antecipado por pix ou link de pagamento. A limpeza do local deixou a desejar. Não vi em nenhum momento alguém limpando o banheiro e o quarto. A recepcionista é extremamente mal educada e ríspida. O portão do hostel fica destrancado comprometendo a segurança. As roupas de cama estavam com cheiro azedo. Lá tem um bar que nunca fica ninguém.

Hostel muito bonito e bem localizado, porém o quarto estava com muito mofo e alguns de nós adoeceram após a viagem.A limpeza do quarto deixou a desejar e segurança não existe. Havia goteira junto a eletricidade do banheiro. A experiência, de forma geral, foi bem decepcionante!

This place is awful. I woke up with at least 30 bug bites that look like bed bugs, the ac is only on a few hours at night, nothing was cleaned EVER, there was beer cans on my bed and in my locker, it smells and is so hot and when I asked the change rooms they said no so I asked for a refund to go somewhere clean and they said no.

Ambiente externo sujo, quando cheguei ao quarto a cama também estava suja, minha toalha "sumiu" de cima da minha cama, a moça da recepção super grossa. O preço foi justo pelo que oferecem, a localização é boa.

it was okay for what it is. checkout wasn‘t great because the 24hrs reception was closed. bathroom was really dirty and small for 12 people. there were cockroaches kn the rooms and the room was really dark and had a basement feeling…

Everyone is nice except the reception manager. She charges for leaving the bag at the reception and someone wanted to check in and she left for 20min because she wanted to snack something, what a service…. Safety 10/10 because door worked with faces recognition Much space to chill

Very good hostel, social and I like the way the building is built. Nice and spread out kitchen.

Muito bom, recomendo.

Too many stairs. Smoking allowed everywhere, I hate its smell. Dorms are open all the time, there is no safety.

Well situated, nice view from the hostel. WiFi and kitchen seriously lacking. People stilling (not the fault of the hostel but still).
