honestly it was not as pictured. the bathrooms and showers were dirty. the rooms were not good. the electricity goes out almost every night and I wanted to spend as little time there as possible. i wish I could get a refund.
What a horrible place, please avoid staying here at all costs! The place looks nothing like the pictures, you don’t get a key or pass to come in an out of the hostel and there is so much dirt everywhere. I got bed big bites and as soon as I got to the dorm the place had a lot of dust. There were no windows either, just shutters that remained open. Also the stairs in the bunk beds are falling off and the mattress are full of sweat stains. The manager smokes weed at all times

For Carnival the only affordable hostel, but the location is top: Lapa is rather uncertain, but there and surroundings everything played out. But for the money (for Carnival the triple Prizes) the price-performance ratio is pretty bad. The kitchen is super small and unstructured, few showers and toilets and the rooms are very simple. The Enge of the Hostels has a positive effect on the atmosphere: You come with all the conversation and verabreeds inset for Blocos and evenings.
+ Location in a kind of active area for the nightlife About the price: it was much for the condition of the hostel, but it was also New Year's Eve and for that it was actually one of the cheapest
- *I was asked to pay a 30% PRE-PRAYMENT to secure my booking* and when my tickets were cancelled and I was considering canceling my booking for the hostel, they wouldn't give me the money back, so *it's NOT true that the cancellation is free of charges* The kitchen was too small and smelling bad The staff didn't inform me much, unless I asked directly The electricity hasn't worked for some hours and the staff wasn't really helping/answering The water hasn't worked for 1 and ½ days and the solutions were kind of poor (considering that is something that happens frequently in Rio de Janeiro)

We booked 3 nights but when we came to the hostel, was we told that the hostel was closed for a week..
Busy bedrooms with not much space, a lot of people for not a lot of showers or toilets, not allowed to use the kitchen either. However it is cheap and the beds are fine

All in all a nice hostel. Ive been tjere during Carnaval and the positioning was PERFECT!!! Not everything was perfect tho. The kitchen was a bit eww but the people in the hostel and the host Gonzalo made up for it. I wish i could get the time back we had there. 9/10
+ Boa localização no bairro, próximo do agito da Lapa mas em uma rua que não chega o ruído e movimentação de pessoas, ambientes limpos.
- Foi informado que havia horário limite para banho, achei a exigência estranha, um lugar pra apoiar objetos no box do banheiro tambem seria ótimo. Uma pessoa do staff me pareceu um pouco seca, nao foi grosseira em momento nenhum mas poderia ser afável, apenas uma sugestão...

+ It’s within walking distance of several of the tourist attractions, and the staff was incredibly helpful
Had such a lovely stay here! The owner and staff were so friendly and were always around to help if needed. Really clean place. Spent new years here and it was great. The block lost access to water for one of the days I was there and Gonzalo organized a way for us to shower at another location while he got it sorted. Would totally stay here again :)))

+ Os hosts são muito amáveis, muito cordiais, foram muito hospitaleiros, se dispondo a ajudar com informaçōes e me deixaram muito a vontade, mesmo com todas as atividades pessoais e profissionais que eles tinham. Super recomendo o hostel pra quem busca um local pela Lapa.
