Posada Don Mario

Definitely wouldn’t recommend. Loudest place I have ever stayed.The room was literally right next to the dining area with paper thin walls. Staff or guests, unfortunately not quite sure, started shouting at 6 o’clock in the morning, heard lots of banging and could smell breakfast in the room. Bathroom was very small and cramped, no ventilation whatsoever. Came back in the afternoon and found that no one was at the reception, with the keys in plain sight. Check reviews on Google. Stay away.

I booked a private en-suite. The shower was terrible (almost no water). The bed was bad. There were just families with children (not good for a young traveler).

This hostel (B&B) was a good spot for us to stay while exploring the city, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. However, this is not a place for any kind of social atmosphere - people do not interact during breakfast or at any other time of the day. The included breakfast was extremely basic, just fruit, coffee and pre toasted bread.

Een aantal badkamers is wat oud, waardoor het niet schoon aanvoelt. Verder was ons verblijf heel fijn! Super goed uitgeruste keuken ook!!

Gutes Hostal. Kann ich sehr empfehlen. Sehr hilfsbereite Mitarbeitende. Gute Lage nahe Zócalo. Sauber.

Muy limpio y la locación fabulosa, sin embargo el bar de al lado pone la música súper alta, solo que planees andar de fiesta viernes y sábado no te afecta…

Lovely place to stay, but not very social. Hot breakfast and coffe is great 👍. Staff were pretty friendly but ripped us off for booking transport. Charged us ~50% extra for a transfer than booking direct, didn't feel like we could trust the staff because of that. I get there's usually a mark up, but that was excessive. Bars nearby are very noisy and rooms not soundproof at all so avoid if you're a loud sleeper.

This spot is super central to everything in Oaxaca, but nice and quiet - perfect balance. My partner and I enjoyed the rooftop area, and the wifi was really fantastic. However, the showers were not the strongest (and at one point the water did run out for an hour or so, as apparently happens in Oaxaca generally, so not specific to here) and the breakfast was not great - it was very difficult to get their attention to get plates, cutlery and even food if they had run out. Overall fine.

we had a lovely time! we only booked one night here and regretted it later - the location was beautiful and the staff and facilities super accommodating - we especially enjoyed the rooftop! highly recommend in oaxaca one thing to watch out for - don’t let the front desk order a taxi for you - we were ripped off by our driver when we could’ve hailed a taxi easily on our own - otherwise a great stay!

A pousada é boa e com cama bastante confortável. O café da manhã é ok e faltou mais opções. Tem um rooftop com vista pra cidade e a pousada é muito próxima do centro. A recepção me ajudou com tours e informações. No geral é um bom custo benefício pra ficar em Oaxaca. Desvantagens: não aceita cartões de crédito. A pressão da água do chuveiro é muito fraca e o ralo do banheiro estava entupido.

Fantastic location, great free breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. The room had everything we needed and the bathrooms were clean.

Good place to hike the close mountain. not far away from citycenter. Not really a Hostel and the kitchen is missing. Overall a very good and nice place to stay!

Very nice Hotel. Central location - next to a market and many main sights. It is a Hotel, not a Hostel. Staff is very friendly. If you have a room with a shared bathroom: there is only one bathroom with shower. “Gratis” Breakfast is very very basic.

We had a wonderful time at the Posada Don Mario and highly recommend it! The staff are lovely and very helpful, and the location is perfect, walking distance from all of the main sites in Oaxaca's city centre. The Posada's patio and terrace are also great places to take a break and have a coffee.

*sehr hübsches, kleines Hotel *Ruhig und dennoch zentral gelegen *das Doppelzimmer mit zwei Betten war groß genug für 3 Personen *netter Innenhof und es gibt eine Dachterrasse *das inkludierte Frühstück ist sehr einfach - Fruit Loops und Obstsalat, Kaffee/Tee, trockenes Gebäck *Ungewöhnliches, schlauchähnliches Badezimmer - man muss durch die Dusche um zur Toilette zu gelangen
