No idea how this place is rated so high. It’s the filthiest hostel I’ve ever been too. The floor in the dorms and the hallway look life they’ve never been cleaned. Constant drip out side the room, which is always leaking. Also a leak in the room, which looks like it’s going to burst any moment. Staff were nice enough, and common area was fine. But the rooms are gross. Also only one toilet & shower which are in the same room, so you’re always waiting for it to be free. Which is annoying...
Je ne suis globalement pas satisfaite de l’établissement. J’ai trouvé la chambre vraiment sale et les lits nuls. Je n’ai eu aucune visite du lieu donc était perdu et ai découvert par moi même les toilettes/douche (il y en a qu’une) ou l’évier se déverse sur le sol… Je n’ai pas apprécié l’expérience et les avis hostelworld sont tronqués
I found the room really dirty and the beds empty. I had no tour of the place so was lost and discovered by myself the toilets/shower (there is one) or the livery pouring on the floor... I didn't enjoy the experience and the reviews hostelworld are truncated
The good reviews are not accurate as they offer free drinks for a good review… very dirty, one bathroom with the toilet for a dorm of 12. Party hostel
Room wasn't nice at all, not even curtains for your bad, shower were also not nice or clean
Staff was polite and it has a great location in proportion to the pier. But when I first arrived I found objects belonging to the previous guest in my bed, which means not only were the sheets not changed, the bed wasn’t even looked at by staff. I got new sheets no problem but it was still pretty gross to me. The AC is also on full blast and you are only provided with super thin blankets, my friend got sick staying here.
Le pire dortoir que j’ai fait pendant mon séjour en Thaïlande ! 12 lits pour 1 seule salle de bain avec toilettes dans la salle de bain… aucune intimité malgré les rideaux qui ne cachent rien. Le bruit de la rue Toute la nuit et la lumière du jour puisqu’il n’y a pas de quoi obstruer la fenêtre. Les prises qui sont nulles, on ne peut rien brancher dessus. Pas de lumière individuelle c’est soit tout le monde dort soit personne … point positif c’est que l’hostel org...
The worst dorm I've ever made during my stay in Thailand! 12 beds for 1 bathroom with toilet in the bathroom... no privacy despite the curtains that hide nothing. The noise of the street All night and the light of the day since there is nothing to obstruct the window. The plugs that are null, you can't plug anything in. No individual lighting is either everyone is sleeping or no one is ... positive point is that the hostel organizes events.

sketchy luggage storage, the room was dirty and full of ants, there was a power outage the day I arrived and the staff was very unhelpful... one of the worst hostels I have ever been at
It is was absolutely FILTHY. We arrived at check in time and we were shown our DISGUSTING room. We were welcomed to dirty sheets and a bed that had not yet been vacated. They then told us the room will be DEEP cleaned. The doors don’t lock unless locked from inside and the lockers were all full for a dorm that is supposedly empty. We returned and the room was left a mess just like when we first saw it and we were out for the whole day! DO NOT STAY HERE! If I could I would give no stars at all.
This property was not worth it, you couldn’t pay me to stay here again. stay here if you value socialising more than cleanliness. The place did not get cleaned often enough for the number of people in the rooms. it felt like the cleaning products were decorations. bad smell in the bathroom. overall very disappointing

Good hostel, although I got put in the back rooms rather than the main rooms which had a strange vibe. The social area was nice but I would’ve loved a social space with a bit of aircon… The staff were pretty responsive. The beds were super hard but still comfy and clean. Felt decently safe.
Had the best stay here. All the staff were so friendly especially Pai and it was so easy to meet people! Would highly recommend
I loved this hostel, which is why I ended up staying for a whole month. Especially as a solo traveler, it’s amazing — very social and everyone is super open and friendly!! The atmosphere is really great, with a perfect mix of chill vibes and partying. It’s also very clean and comfortable.😝
We had the most wonderful stay at Islander hostel! Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, atmosphere was social and very inclusive, and facilities were fantastic! Also in a great location for Koh Tao as close to the ferry and within walking distance of all the good shops, restaurants and diving schools. I would highly recommend!
Sämsta boende på 3 mån resa i Sydostasien. Rum vid sidan om hostel kändes inte tryggt, trasigt golv och vägg, smutsigt och ovårdat. Breda sängar men stum madrass. AC fungerade bra. I badrummet var det äckligt och städades inte trots att jag sa till. Badrumsvasken läckte vatten på golvet som alltid var blött, fläkt fungerade inte så man blev svettig på minuter. Flyttade till annat rum sista natten, där fungerade AC dåligt och jag var för varm, samt det luktade ur avlopp. Enda br...
The best stay of my 3 month trip in Southeast Asia. The room next to the hostel felt unsafe, the floor was broken and the walls were dirty and overgrown. Breda beds but the mattress was stum. AC worked bra. In the bathroom it was disgusting and cities were not proud that I was there. The bathroom sink leaked water on the floor which was always wet, the flame didn't work so you got sweaty in minutes. Flyttade till annat rum last night, where the AC worked badly and I was too warm, and it smelled ...
I loved the vibe here. Definitely a social hostel, not a party hostel. many people stayed longer, which made it feel more personal. the downstairs area is very nice and invites you to meet new people. pool is for free and also water. the dorms are okay but not good. the curtains do their job to the bare minimum, also there is neither a light nor a shelf at the beds. staff is friendly
Our room was not in the hostel itself, but in a sort of attached garage box. This was open to the street 24/7; a small sliding door separated our room from the open space facing the street. We had a bathroom (shower and toilet combined) that we shared with our 10-person room, another room, and anyone who might walk in from the street. It wasn't clear before booking, and certainly not before paying. The hygiene in the room was incredibly filthy, sandy, and had no window. Everything remained damp�...

Perfect stay
It’s honestly hard to put into words how much I feel at home at islander. It’s like living in a big shared flat and just getting together for all the cutely curated activities. Me and the friends I made here already decided to come back next year. We can all say don’t get stuck on Koh Tao but if you do, do it here
Loved this hostel, vibe was great! The facilities are a little outdated but didn’t affect my experience. Pool table downstairs was free and there were always people around in the common area. Finsanity dive school was also great, would recommend doing your open water with them!

Really nice hostel, and very social!
We loved our stay! There was always something to do in the evening and everyone got involved- very social. However… the lighting in the room was non existent and the aircon was never quite right. The windows don’t have curtains so prepare for a hot awakening. The spiral stairs are also a death trap but apart from them minor points, it was an amazing hostel and we loved the people we met. The staff were friendly and overall we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Recommend highly !!
Nice hostel but you brush your teeth in front of all people. Too much AC in bedroom.
I really didn’t enjoy staying here. The room and shower were kind of dirty and the facilities extremely basic. The lockers in my room were pretty much all broken and basically unusable. I found the staff to be a bit rude, unhelpful and at times incompetent. Probably didn’t help that I’d been staying at a chill hostel before whereas this attracts a more party vibe I think. The one big pro is the location - its very convenient. Near a &/11, shops, beaches! Handy if you can’t motorbike.

very social hostel with nice evening activities. the staff is super friendly and the location is great. had an amazing stay, would definitely recommend it :)
