Amazing Huaraz - Hostel

They didn't have the 24h reception they state on the website. I tried to contact them by phone when I was in front of the place. When they eventually called me back, they couldn't speak English and didn't appear at the property. So I decided to stay somewhere else.

Le passage à Huaraz fut bref mais l’auberge en elle même est bien, à prévoir juste selon la période où vous venez qu’il puisse faire très froid dans la chambre (5 couvertures sont sur le lit pour supporter la température) malgré tout c’est difficile de s’y réchauffer. Amazing Huaraz is everything the name suggests plus so much more. Immediately making guests feel at home, owner Walter is very warm, welcoming and super obliging and willing to share his indepth knowledge of all there is to see, do and experience in the region. Peruvians and other South Americans are among guests, adding to the overall immersion for those from far flung countries. An easy walking from central Huaraz and transport links, the hostel is home-away from home in a quiet location.

Hostel and staff were very nice! The breakfast is good and is served with coca leaves for altitude. The owner is very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. The rooms are big, the shower hot, the place is clean, and the rooftop terrace has beautiful views. Sadly there are negatives, 15 minute walk to the centre, bedsheets are all polyester and create static electricity which raises the hair and gives you static shocks, the room was clean but there were hairs from past guests on the outer blankets

Great stay and lovely people. They are flexible and can help with storing luggage when you go hiking. Also, very helpful in giving information. Thanks!
