The Central House Lisbon Baixa

My only significant concern involved the female dorm. At approximately 1:00 AM, a male guest was present in the female-only dormitory. When I reported the issue, I felt that my concern was not initially taken as seriously as I expected and that the focus shifted toward questioning my complaint rather than addressing the situation itself. As a solo female traveler, I choose female-only accommodations because they provide an additional sense of privacy and security. Seeing a man in the dorm late at night made me uncomfortable, and I would have preferred a more immediate and supportive response when I raised the concern. Aside from that incident, my stay was positive, and the hostel's facilities, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere were excellent.

Pros: - location is great. very centrally located so lots of places are a short walk away. - clean. The sheets seemed to be new the day I got there. There were no bed bugs. - has an elevator so if you have a big suitcase this is definitely a plus. - the curtains are a nice touch. Cons: - the rooms facing the road can be really noisy at night, not just with regards to vehicular traffic but also screaming partying people. - some of the staff at the reception were really rude and unresponsive, especially this one lady on the first morning that I was there. Not sure what they are trying to achieve coming off this cocky. When I requested them to check if there any chance any other bed was available, this particular receptionist was super rude and dismissive. I am aware there is no guarantee on the kind of room one will get allotted in a hostel, but merely enquiring if any other bed is available shouldn’t be that big an offence! It’s ridiculous how poor their front desk is. - the bed mattresses are OLD and need to be replaced asap. Mine was concave in the centre, clearly way past its reasonable use. - the bathrooms don’t have enough hooks for your clothes and towels and this can easily be fixed if they look into it.

Rooms are very small and smelly. Bed bugs everywhere. Beds are not comfortable at all. Reception staff is very rude . No cleanliness at all. Overall pathetic hostel PS: Answer to your reply under my Review... Your investigation is wrong because I did stay from 21 March to 25 March. There is no misunderstanding or confusion about location. You just want to lie because you can't hear truth about your pathetic hostel. AND these are not allegations, these are the facts about your hostel.

The one thing that I didn’t like was blanket😂 Even though I’m short, it was small for me. I think if you are tall, then it will be definitely small for you.
