Horrible experience - the dorm was very cramped with no ventilation or aircon. The other guests left their stuff spread out every - all over the floor. There wasn't easily accessible power sockets. The toilets and showers were dirty and someone left their dirty underwear on the sink. The kitchen was large and with acceptable hygiene, but it was completely airless - no ventilation, just a fan that didn't cool at all. I had booked two nights but left after one. The only positive was nice staff

My stay was very loud with multiple groups of kids running around. Woke up one morning to pee all over the bathroom floor.

Was really optimistic because of the reviews and honestly so NEGATIVELY surprised by the atmosphere. No windows in the kitchen, very bad smell, unclean washing rooms with hair and underwear on the ground, feels like being in prison would describe it best. Staff is absolutely friendly, yet the place is def not my cup of tea.

Staff were very friendly & accommodating. Cleanliness on the other hand was definitely an issue. Bed sheets were fine but pretty sure that’s all that’s “cleaned” in the rooms daily for new guests!! Webs all over ceiling, corners of floors, windows and garbage underneath beds. Multiple spiders hanging from the ceiling so if you have an issue with them being above your bed, I would not recommend this hostel!

Overall experience was pretty good, except for the cleanliness of the bathroom / showers. I stayed here for 3 nights / 4 days and in those 4 days the showers haven’t been cleaned, because the snot and the dead bugs on the shower wall were exactly in the same place after 4 days.

The people from the houskeeping were amazing! Expesialy Emma and Tristan! Want to thank them for the good time!

My room smelled so bad of sick. The showers were quite dirty. Overall I would not return. It looks very dated and needs renovating. Only having two cupboards to share between 4 people sucks too.

I loved this hostel. The space, the facilities, the beds. They arrange things, such as movie nights, so it is easy to Connect. The team is very helpfull and the play room and climbing wall give a good athmosfere.

A nice hostel, the staff were really friendly and helpful with booking things like the white water rafting, I would 100% recommend that. Lots of travel groups stayed at this hostel, some were quite young so I would bring some earplugs. A good location

The best hostel I’ve stayed in while in NZ north island so far - the bed spaces are great, the kitchen and communal areas are good and have lots of useful backpacker info and connection boards. Pretty social vibe. Good location for town and pick up direct from the hostel via tongariro expeditions van.

Had a great stay at this hostel, the people were very nice and the location was great! While slightly outdated, it was very clean!! I recommend!!

Everything excellent, bed curtains for privacy would be cool.

Room had no windows which made it feel like a prison cell. Good atmosphere in the group accommodation section - liked the separate kitchen and cinema room. Free pool was a plus.

Great place to stay with a top rope climbing wall. Amazing location to easily walk around and see all the sights. Bathrooms and kitchen were clean and kitchen had all the amenities. The only drawback was that the beds didn’t have curtains and there weren’t outlets at each bed but there were still plenty of outlets near the lockers. The staff weee friendly and you can get discounts on local activities here. Great hostel!

The staff here show lots of interest in making sure you make the most out of Rotorua. I loved staying here with easy access to groceries, restaurants, and a rock climbing gym, all accessible without an umbrella even on rainy days (well, the grocery stores might get you soaked a tiny bit). Rooms were clean, and facilities are easily accessible. Also set up for great social interaction especially in the kitchen. Thanks for hosting me.

Favorite hostel in rotorua! Great and very clean and friendly staff!

It was okay for 2 nights but i personally didn't like the bathrooms they were quit worn down since it is an old building. There was also a big group of kids there during our stay so it was probably louder than it normally is.

Okay so I was there at the same time as a school group so the hostel was quite loud and at times not the cleanest, but overall good hostel and super friendly staff, loved that there was parking available

Decent place, really great location. Could’ve been cleaner (especially considering there isn’t even a lot of foot traffic in the off season).

Good location in Rotorua. Was upgraded to a three bedroom dorm however it was opposite the kitchen so it was quite noisy. Bathrooms were dated and showers were old. Good common areas especially with the second smaller kitchen upstairs that no one used.
