The room smelled musty on the first day, and like dead fish for the rest of my stay, even after opening a window in an attempt to let in a little fresher air. The bed had small blood stains on the outer duvet. Worst of all, I found bug bites on my arm which I was afraid might have been from bed bugs, but when I emailed the property to alert them once arriving home, I received a very rude email insinuating that I wasn't being truthful. I sent a clarifying email, but have yet to receive a response as to whether they had taken any action at all to inspect the room/bed after receiving my notice, nor any information on the findings as to whether bed bugs were found or not after receiving my email (shouldn't it be policy to inspect the room within 24 hours of receiving word that there is even the possibility of bed bugs?). From their response to my first email, it sounded like they were aggressively protecting themselves in the case I might just be looking for free services, (which I understand, even if there methods were discourteous and unprofessional) but I did my best to clarify my objectives: all I want is confirmation as to whether I need to continue the arduous process of treating my clothes and luggage in case it WAS bed bugs. And if there ARE bed bugs found, then obviously I should be entitled to a refund for all of the hassle I'm currently undergoing. However, I do not anticipate receiving any help or replies whatsoever.
