Crianlarich Youth Hostel

I made a booking at the Crianlarich Hostel. One day before the stay the manager of the hostel told me that I hadn't payed the full amount and that they were over booked so he had to cancel my stay. The same day the full amount has been charged from my bank account. I tried to contact the hostel for a refund but I never had any reply. So I can't tell about the quality of the hostel because I never went but I can tell about the value for money : you haven't any bed in this hostel even if you pay...

A relatively affordable hostel, with all the basic amenities. The village of Crianlarich is small but nice enough, with a few nice pubs to eat and drink. However, the hostel was quite disappointing. On the + side: room and beds were comfortable, and we had a room with a small bathroom corner (sink and mirror). On the - side: kitchen and storage were clearly too small considering the high number of guests hosted. Kitchen and bathrooms were also seriously lacking in cleaningness and quality.

Die Einrichtung war sehr altbacken, die Atmosphäre etwas langweilig, aber das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend. leider konnte die Tür zum Schlafraum nicht richtig geschlossen werden, weshalb man die Geräusche auf dem Gang hörte. Für ein bis zwei Nächte aber ausreichend.

Les +: Auberge au calme , parking facile , espace cuisine et séjour sympas et spacieux , TV jeux et canapés cosy. Les -: espaces propres mais sanitaire garcon en face mais sanitaires filles très éloignés de notre chambre( dans l’autre aile du bâtiment ). Pas pratique avec enfants. Gros problème d’humidité dans la chambre 1, avec traces au plafond et pas possible d’ouvrir d’avantage pour aérer. Du coup ce n’était vraiment pas agréable.

A nice place to rest up while traveling through on the West Highland Way. It’s definitely a little worse for wear, and it’s age shows. At least the showers were ok and you could buy breakfast before heading out the next day.

Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter, leider waren die sanitären Anlagen nicht so gut gepflegt, in zwei von drei Duschen war kein Licht, die Toilettenspülungen liefen durch und das Toilettenpapier war teilweise nicht vorhanden.

Très chouette endroit, très conviviale, cuisine suffisamment équipée, chambre et lit propre, pièce pour faire sécher les affaires humides. Dommage qu'il n'y avait pas de locker privé dans les chambres pour des affaires de valeurs.

Un hébergement très agréable, fonctionnel, propre avec une équipe de personnel très professionnelle et très agréable. Je recommande vivement et ne manquerai pas de revenir si nous passons à nouveau dans la région. Merci

Highly Recommend Crianlarich Youth Hostel

We used the YHA so that we could support our local family with childcare in half term. The hostel was super clean, the staff wonderfully welcoming, helpful and welcoming. The location is brilliant for the village, shop and station, and many walks. A footie machine or TT table would have been useful.

Loved this youth hostel! Was greated by super friendly staff who had excellent hiking recommendations and made sure I was okay after catching a cold. The kitchen is well organised and clean, so are the bathrooms. The guests are almost exclusively hikers, so this is a perfect place to exchange experiences. The location is right by the train station, so you‘re as well located as you can be in a highland town like this.

Set in the Trossachs, a beautiful layover spot from getting through Scotland. Close to trails. Wonderful restaurant close by serving much needed Cockaleekie soup and homemade bread. The kitchen was well stocked and it was good to have a dry room for wet towels and socks. The showers could use more space for shelving or getting dressed in. Common area was very relaxing with a cup of tea.

Lugar confortável após um dia chuvoso. O café da manhã é caro por café e pão.

Great stay, kudos to the staff who handled noisy neighbours during the night with the utmost efficiency.

I was stranded in Crianlarich because of severe weather and was fortunate to get one of the final beds. The staff was extremely helpful, and everything about the facility was comfortable and accommodating.

The Youth Hostel was very clean, had good access to facilities, and was well located. The staff were very accommodating and friendly! We only could spend a night but wished we could have stayed longer.
