+ Friendly atmosphere, the staff created a welcoming vibe and helped with renting a motorbike. The pool area was a nice place to relax.

- The room quality and conditions were extremely disappointing. - The room was unclean upon arrival, with visible dirt everywhere, spider webs on the bedroom walls, and stained bed sheets. It took 2 full days and repeated requests before the staff finally removed the spider webs from the walls. - The humidity was overwhelming, making the floor sticky at all times. Our clothes became damp and absorbed a strong smell of moisture, making the entire stay uncomfortable. We haven’t experienced this in any other hotel in Tulum. - While the kitchen window faced the pool, the bedroom “window” opened onto a wall packed with maintenance equipment. Worse, the curtains were too short to provide proper coverage. - The sinks and curtains were so poorly installed that curtains fell when we tried to move them. The furniture felt cheap, adding to the overall poor quality of the room. - We paid $620 for just three nights, yet two-thirds of our stay was uncomfortable due to these issues. Instead of offering real compensation, the hotel gave a credit for a future stay, knowing full well that we live on the other side of the world and won’t be returning anytime soon. This felt like a meaningless and empty gesture just to avoid taking any real responsibility. In general it feels like a scam to charge so much for a room in such poor condition and then refuse to compensate in any meaningful way. While the staff was friendly, the hotel’s failure to provide basic cleanliness made our stay deeply disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel unless major improvements are made.

+ Frühstück war gut und Personal dort sehr freundlich. Das Personal versuchte, uns in der Nacht zu helfen und uns ein anderes Zimmer zu geben, siehe unten.

- Der Name täuscht leider etwas, dieses Hotel ist kein Yoga Resort oder Ähnliches. Es wird lediglich ein kostenpflichtiger Yoga Kurs angeboten, den wir jedoch nicht genutzt und auch nicht gesehen haben. Wir hatten Zimmer Nummer 1 gebucht, welches eigentlich sehr schön war. Abends stellten wir dann fest, dass es im Zimmer unmöglich war, zu schlafen. Direkt an der angrenzenden Wand ist ein Restaurant mit sehr lauter Musik, welche bis Mitternacht spielt. Wir haben das Zimmer gewechselt und bekamen ein sehr einfaches und schlichtes Zimmer, welches nichts mit unserer gebuchten Kategorie zu tun hatte. Auch hier war es laut und wir konnten aufgrund der dort ebenfalls zu hörenden Musik nicht schlafen. Die zweite Nacht haben wir dann ausgecheckt und uns ein anderes Hotel genommen, auch wenn wir für die zweite Nacht trotzdem bezahlen mussten.

+ I wish I could like this place. The staff was amazing and even gave me a free room upgrade! But the hotel is NOT IT! There were mosquitoes EVERYWHERE and that could easily be due to rainy season but I’ve stayed at other hotels and none were as bad as this. In the bathroom my first 5 minutes I killed 6 mosquitoes… The breakfast was decent, just fruit and bread… I loved the presentation and the staff was overall 11/10

- Why is there no AC in the bedrooms??? I get sick if a fan is on while I sleep but still kept the fan on… and was still super hot! Because of the mosquitoes I didn’t wanna leave my bedroom door open.. and because of the mosquitoes I didn’t wanna sleep without covers, so I was just burning up while getting bit up by mosquitoes and it was SO uncomfortable. I’ve never avoided going to my hotel before this place. I dreaded going to sleep. The bathroom had a really bad smell, and the floors always got soacked after my shower because the way it’s set up. But honestly the worst was my room was right by where housekeeping keeps their cleaning supplies so I always woke up to them banging around… I wake up @10am… why am I forced to wake up around 7am because housekeeping. I am on vacation.. I wanted to cry.

+ Der Concierge war entzückend. Die angeschlossene Bar Lorenza war süss, der Staff dort sehr bemüht, das inkludierte Frühstück war in Ordnung.

- Die Bilder entsprechen nicht der Wirklichkeit. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht. Laut den Bildern freuten wir uns auf eine hübsche cosy Unterkunft, aber es war in keinster Weise so wie erwartet. Das Familienappartement war ganz anders eingerichtet als angekündigt, es war muffig, abgewohnt und laut. Das kalte Licht der Zimmer hatte den Charme einer in die Jahre gekommenen Bahnhofshalle. So stellen wir uns wirklich kein Boutique Hotel und Yoga Loft vor!

+ Coole Unterkunft, gute Lage, Zimmer sehen fancy aus. Schöner großer Balkon

- Zimmer war sehr dunkel, Lichtverhältnisse waren nicht gut, vor allem im Bad. Kein großer Spiegel vorhanden. Möbel im großen Balkon wären gut gewesen. Größtes Manko war aber das Frühstück. Das war inklusive, aber eigentlich ziemlich lächerlich. Man bekommt keine Auswahl sondern ein paar Früchte, zwei sehr kleine Toastbrote und etwas Marmelade. Möchte man etwas extra, wird es auch extra berechnet. Das war nicht gut.

+ Beautiful hotel, spacious suite, & clean

- The staff made us cancel our reservation online to give us a better pricing in-person but then after we cancelled it they would not honor the online pricing. We had to fight this during our vacation. Then, they demanded extra for our breakfast which was supposed to be included.

+ We had a two-bedroom suite. It had a living room/kitchenette with table and chairs and two of those foldable chairs made of cushions that you can fold out into a single bed or use as a chair. We didn't cook in the kitchen. Both bedrooms had one large bed. One bedroom was en suite and the other had a bathroom right outside the door. The location is very good within the La Veleta neighborhood. It's a bit far out for walking if you want the restaurants and shops of main road through town. Parking is on the street, but is easy and very close. There's a small, pleasant pool. A simple breakfast with three choices is included. The owner was accommodating when I asked in advance to change the dates of our pre-paid reservation, shortening the stay by one night. We received good communication in advance from the owner, with tips about the local area.

- There's a single air conditioning unit in the living area. To cool the bedrooms, you need to run the living room unit quite cold. I don't like to leave AC on when I'm not in the hotel room, but since these bedroom were harder to cool, it felt necessary to leave it on to some extent even when we weren't there. The wifi worked pretty well in the living room, but dropped out very frequently in the bedrooms.

+ Magical Place with Good vibes with Pool and Beautiful very Special Garden and great Restaurant, cool Location with Yoga classes, Massage and more… Coming back, definitly to recommend?

+ Ho adorato il mio tempo al Sonido del Mar. Lo definirei Sonido de la paz, perché troverete un ambiente piacevole, rilassante, con una bellissima energia. Il merito va alle splendide proprietarie, madre e figlia, accoglienti ed amorevoli. La posizione baricentrica tra il pueblo e il mare, nel contesto della Valeta dove troverete bar, ristoranti e gente piacevole

+ Abbiamo soggiornato presso Sonido del Mar e ci siamo trovati benissimo. I titolari sono stati super premurosi e pronti ad aiutarci in tutto, ci hanno aiutato con la prenotazione di transfer, molte informazioni sulla zona e sulla risoluzione di piccoli problemi. Check in velocissimo e camera consegnata in anticipo perchè già pronta. Stanza grandissima e confortevole, sala yoga molto bella e spaziosa. Che dire, bravissimi e a presto!

+ First of all, the hotel owner was very friendly, accommodating, kind and always available if I needed anything. This hotel was really peaceful and that is what I liked the most. The hotel room had everything I needed and was spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable so I felt rested the next day. There are a lot of restaurants nearby and the hotel restaurant was also quite nice. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a calm and restful vibe.
