Bad experience hostal.. bedbugs and really dirty shower and beds..

INCREÍBLE! Personal fantástico, te sientes en casa, me quedaba de paso para los lugares que visitaba , así que buena ubicación, habitaciones pequeñas pero huéspedes respetuosos, tienen mil servicios, café, comida deliciosa, limpieza, te explican todo a detalle. Saben varios idiomas. Me atendieron una alergia y hasta cosieron mi bolsa. Posiblemente hay chinches o ácaros y por eso mis piquetes:(

Pretty decent hostel overall. The free breakfast was really nice, though I wish they served it earlier in the morning. The beds were comfortable and I liked the common areas, it was a very social vibe. My only real concern is that I woke up with a bunch of bug bites on my feet. I spoke to the hostel employee and he thinks it's mosquitoes, not bed bugs, but it still makes me a bit uneasy.

Mid hostel. Weird vibe. My room stank so bad like someone hadn’t showered in weeks. Also got eaten alive by mosquitoes at night (not bed bugs) I moved after 1 night

The workers of the hostel were really great when it came to recommendations and were overall really nice but started interesting political chats made a few people staying uncomfortable throughout my stay. Had a lot of people complaining about small bites from the beds not bed bugs but definitely something from the hostel. The overall vibe was good for me as a young traveler a lot of other young people from around the world made the vibe stand out here but couldn’t hang in the hostel at night

ATTENTION PUNAISES DE LIT! J’ai du dormir sur le canapé de la zone commune la première nuit car je me suis réveillée au milieu de la nuit avec plus d’une vingtaine de piqûres. Le personnel a ensuite pris la situation en main, tout en étant désagréables avec moi et en me disant de ne le dire à personne. Je suis partie dès que j’ai pu, et j’ai exigé un remboursement, qui m’a partiellement été accordé. Prix beaucoup trop élevé pour une auberge qui devrait être low-cost au vu de ce qui est proposé.

Staff was so nice guy!! They were welcoming me. But there is only one bad thing. There were bedbugs in my bed. It was so itchy I could hardly sleep. So if you want to get bitten by bedbugs, you can stay:)

BED BUGS!! lovely staff, great environment, free breakfast which was a huge plus. the only negatives were VERY small showers that didn’t get hot, the location was in a back alley so i didn’t feel the safest as a solo female traveler, and even after the hostel looking clean for the most part, after looking at my mattress i found droppings, and later i realized i had gotten bed bugs from this place! would not recommend

Nous avions réservé 2 nuits dans cet hostel mais sommes parties après la première à cause de punaises de lit!! Le personnel était assez gentil que pour nous aider, mais ils n’ont pas eu l’air de vouloir faire grand chose concernant les punaises en elles même…

We stayed in a 4 bed room and the room was very small and no storage. The beds, wow. The bed my daughter slept on was falling apart. I had to fix.it twice during our 3 night stay as the base kept coming away from the headboard. After the first night we all started to get bites and wasn't sure what they were at first. By the final morning myself and my son were covered.in bites and my daughter has them all over her back. (This is Feb, rained everyday in naples and no mosquitos) im 99.9% sure it was bedbugs. The lift never worked once during our stay and the hostel is on the 7th floor. Breakfast was chaos so we avoided. Ive stayed in a lot of hostels all over the world and cleanliness, basic diy maintenance should be there as standard. But it wasn't unfortunately

I loved the vibe here. It’s a chill place and the staff make it great. I only stayed one night, although it was a good thing because even though I wanted to really love it, I got bitten badly by bedbugs. I did inform them. It’s not their fault, it can happen even at the most expensive hotels. They do have to be treated though. And unfortunately they said they disinfected the room, but that’s not going to cut it. Pesticides don’t work. The room needs to be heat treated.

Bedbugs. Got covered in bedbug bites and the staff didn't reply about it. They also don't have an age limit and have some very weird old people staying there

Lovely staff. We were worried about bedbugs bc of a previous review but we didn’t see anything and so far so good! Place felt clean enough. Facilities a little bit out dated in our ensuite but honestly fine for the price you’re paying and we were only staying one night anyway.

We'll start with the good. The staff are friendly and engaging. They seemed eager to help and make your experience as positive as they can. Location wasn't bad either, especially for people taking ferries to the islands. The free breakfast was good as well. So, that takes care of the good. The bad: I am almost certain that there are bed bugs at this hostel. The night after my stay I noticed I had welts on three or four places on my body. First time ever getting something like this. And definitely wasn't mosquito type bites. Went to Ischia for a couple days, felt much better, no more problems. Came back to Hostel of the Sun for a transit night, and the following day had a bunch more welts. Did the old Google sleuth research, and bam! Definitely bed bug bites. Then I started thinking more of the conditions at the hostel. Cramped, humid, musty, and not the cleanest in spots. So, although I didn't comb over the entire place with a magnifying glass, all the circumstantial evidence points directly at Hostel of the Sun. Be forewarned.

This hostel is infested with bed bugs. They are EVERYWHERE.

El Lugar es bueno solo tuve una mala experiencia de piquetes de chinches que han arruinado mi viaje por las siguientes semanas no tomar el sol Doloruy Incómodo el personal fue amable u cambio mis sábanas pero las picaduras siguieron apareciendo

The staff were very friendly but unfortunately in the morning I discovered the mattress was infested with bed bugs. And there is no way the person who changed the sheets last couldn’t tell. When I told them they washed and dried our pyjamas as we had to leave in the morning but were unable to spray or deinfest the room before we left. I hope for the next people in that room they deinfested it as it was honestly a huge problem and had been clearly infested for a while /:

Estuvo muy bien, el hostal está al lado del puerto y hay muy buen ambiente dentro. El baño del cuarto es grande y además tiene más baños fuera. La limpieza en general normal, siempre cambiaban las camas pero en mi opinión los baños solían estar bastante sucios, solo limpiaban por encima. Tuve un problema en mi cuarto con chinches lo que fue bastante incómodo pero rápidamente desinfectaron todo, es bastante común ahora en verano. Gracias por todo

The property has great location, but it is very cramped up place and cleanliness is definitely an issue here. Everything smells weird and things are not clean at all. I got some severe mosquitoes bites ( hope so its not bed bugs) and I am a person who always takes precautions but still. Never going again to this pathetic property, its super unhygienic place, will recommend people to spend some extra bucks to ensure atleast clean facilities. The beds were too small and old. Card does not work.

HORRIBLE - chambre infesté par des punaises de lit, malgré la gentillesse de certaines personne du personnel le problème a été très mal géré et absolument pas solutionné. Les gerants ont refusé de me changer de chambre, c'est une honte. Je suis couverte de piqûres et aucune preuve de compassion n'a été émis de leur part. En règle général, la propreté, l'hygiène et l'entretien est peu existant. Ok l'ambiance est peut-être sympa mais c'est loin d'être le plus important. Inadmissible.

I really liked this hostel. The staff were very lovely and it had a great location. I met really fun people here too. The only issue was my dorm did have bed bugs in it. The staff were apologetic and disinfected the rooms twice during my stay but it is a pretty big deal.

Gros problème, j'ai attrapé des punaises de lits, cela dès la première nuit, cela entache bien évidemment mon avis global sur l'auberge !!

The staff were so nice and helpful and the hostel was great for what the price was and our dorm had a really nice ac unit, but we both have left with bed bug bites all over our bodies after staying here.

unfortunately found bed bugs in our beds. The rooms were mostly clean but close attention hasn’t been paid to cleaning the whole place. lots of dust on lights in particular. The air conditioner in our room also broke and started leaking heaps of water so we couldn’t use it.

Bed bugs, mould, filthy sheets and dirty room (staff were very friendly) The worst hostel I have ever stayed in, fine if it’s basic but the sheets and pillow were full of stains like they hadn’t been washed. Mould on the ceiling. Grubby bathroom and floor. Do yourself a favour and don’t come here

Bed bugs here. I think cleaning is not well. Location is quite far. Nice price but not best choice.

I do not recommend this hostel to anyone. This is the worst travel experience that my friends and I have experienced. Our flight was delayed to Naples and we were locked out of the hostel without a code to get into the building. Luckily another guest was arriving at the same time and let us in. We were not notified there was a key left for us. Once we arrived to the reception desk we saw a key with my name on it, however, the key DID NOT WORK to get in the room. We ended up sleeping on the couch/chairs in the lobby and woke up covered in bug bites. The next morning, after explaining our situation, we were told we would have to pay for at least half of our stay, although the receptionist checked our key and saw that it did not work. I do not recommend this hostel to anyone. They clearly do not care about their guests and are only money oriented.

So I got destroyed by bed bugs here night #1 of 3. I understand how challenging they are to stop and easy to spread, and from seeing almost no mentions of them on reviews, it seems like this isn't often a problem. But I slept in the same bug-free bed at home for 1.5 months before coming straight here, so it DEFINITELY happened at this hostel. Ellie did a fantastic job of preventing it from getting worse- washing both mine and my friend's clothes/bags, giving me $ for medicine and a new room (just me, not us, but busy hostel, I guess). In that new room, though, the AC turned off on a timer and the front desk kept the remote (and every time I asked they lost it then found it a few minutes later), so both nights I woke up at 3am to a 30°C, stuffy room and had to walk to the front desk. The hostel ended up giving just me a refund, even though our entire plans for the week have to change because the medicine for the bug bites covering half my body prevents me from being in the sun- in the summer in Italy- PLUS we spent 5 hours dealing with everything that day. I've been traveling/staying in hostels for about four years now, and this was the first bed bug experience I've had (and this was my friend's first hostel experience EVER, so hopefully this stay doesn't scare him away from them). While it definitely could've gone MUCH worse, so I'm thankful the staff was helpful, but at the end of the day, it did happen and I don't feel ok about it.
