Shelter Hostel Malang

Ruidoso, cada tarde tocando música en directo en el piso de encima, cuando encima es una zona/hostal donde muchos nos quedamos para ir por la noche al volcán y necesitamos descansar por la tarde… Sucio como tal no estaba, pero la primera noche empecé a tener abones en la piel como de picotazos y sensaciones de picor en las sábanas. No parecen chinches como tal (creo, espero no se) pero vaya, no tuve buen descanso.

I’m not sure why this place has so many good reviews - the room smelt so bad & moldy. The whole place is very run down. Worst part was that I actually got bed bugs from my night. I couldn’t sleep during the night because I felt like bugs were biting me. I woke up with many red, big, itchy bites and I thought they were mosquitos at first. But asking other people at the hostel, nobody else got bitten so I googled bed bugs and my symptoms matched the description. Also when I first checked in, I noticed some orange shell-like things on the bed but didn’t realize until after I googled bed bugs that they were probably the shells of the bugs… I told the staff about it and not only did they NOT apologize, they told me they didn’t believe me?!??! They thought I was making this up and even insisted that I brought the bed bugs with me from my previous stay. Worst hostel stay and hospitality wow. I told them they needed to get someone professional to inspect it and they literally brushed me off.

… we found many bedbugs in our bed and pillow, we were sleeping in one of the double bedrooms. We were told that this is the first time and it has never happened, but there simply have been to many and too big ones for them to just be brought in by the guys before us, sorry. They assured us they would clean everything carefully, so I hope it won‘t happen again..

We saw 2 bed bugs, the AC was terrible and felt some electricity in the shower

Location great. Facilities fine for most part. AC broken but gave discount.Breakfast changed from original menu but fine. Personnel friendly but not knowledgeable about area. Asked for opinions on local coffee roasters, told none in Malang. Found one 70 meters from the hostel. Severe bed bugs only major problem. Had oil for the itchiness. No door or lock for hostel or dorm, but I was in a locked room. I assume personnel act as guard at night. Aside from bed bugs, very good. Found dead bugs.
