Room had a strong smell, it looked nothing like the pictures i was showed. Very noisy.

La chambre se trouve au 3ème et dernier étage sans ascenseur. L'escalier pour y accéder est très étroit (80 cm de large). Les marches sont très étroites. Il y règne un sentiment d'insécurité par rapport au risque d'incendie. La chambre se trouve en haut au tout dernier pallier. La chambre est toute petite (pas de place pour les valises). I booked a room with 3 beds for my two friends and I. top floor with no lift. There were 2 beds, not 3, and the room was overall dirty. The sheets were stained and the bathroom ceiling had mold. room was hot, the window barely opened, and the AC unit did not work. The shower didn’t drain, and the staff came up with a toilet plunger when we informed them. The plunger didn’t do the trick, but the staff had told us “it’s working now” and left… we had to leave since we needed a working s...

Disappointing stay for the price. Our room’s window couldn’t open, and despite promises, no one came to fix it. We were on the top floor (3 steep flights) and no help was offered for luggage. The booking photos show a dining area, but there’s none — no common spaces at all, you have to stay in your room. Not what we expected.

For this price, we expect better service. Staff was not very friendly and there was lot of noise in the entrance hall from a family that seemed to be living there. Neighborhood is quite dodgy. Bed was good, but small. It was nice that there was a water cooker and some tea and coffee. The possibility of breakfast would have been great!

Comfortable place

Avoid rooms 113 & 114 on the third floor without a lift as there is poor sound insulation between them. Noisy guests arrived at 4am for about an hour. Otherwise a pleasant convenient stay.

Good Value! A clean, comfortable room in the centre of Dublin, close to pub. transport & The Speyer. My room: recently renovated, hot water every day! Security: good- you must get buzzed in by the 24-hour staffed desk. Keep in mind there is no elevator, and you may be as high up as on the 5th floor. Also, they are currently renovating the kitchen/ common room, so that is not available. Walls are a bit thin, but I had earplugs so I was fine. I would stay here again.

I stayed here, and booked a private double room. The room was spacious. OF course a bit noisy, but this can be expected looking at the fact that it is a hostel, and the location on a busy street. The room, bedding, was immaculately clean, plenty of towels, I would def stay here again, and can recommend. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful.

The staff was so lovely and helpful. I felt very welcome. Even the nicest accommodations can be made uncomfortable when the staff is not friendly. Abbott Lodge is not luxurious, but the staff are great.
