Bed bugs

There were bedbugs, which is obviously not great, but it’s not really anyone’s fault. The man at the reception did give us a full refund, which was very nice, but he denied that they were bedbugs even though we had a video, and he didn’t really take us seriously or apologize.

Es gab Bettwanzen, was natürlich nicht angenehm ist, auch wenn dafür niemand direkt etwas kann. Der Mann an der Rezeption hat uns zwar sehr freundlich den gesamten Betrag zurückerstattet, aber er hat abgestritten, dass es Bettwanzen sind – obwohl wir ein Video hatten – und hat uns nicht wirklich ernst genommen oder sich entschuldigt.

Unfriendly unless you dived. Not helpful on how to get to places. Bed below me had bed bugs. Disappointing for such a lovely Island, only stayed there to be a bit closer to everything, should have remained at other hostel

Unfortunately, there were several downsides. From the very first night, we suspected our beds might have been infested with bed bugs — every morning my friends and I woke up with clusters of bites. The staff were quick to move us to another room, which we appreciated, but the problem continued. At first, we thought they were mosquito bites, but there were no mosquitoes in the room, and the bites always appeared in the morning. The issue completely disappeared once we changed hostels, confirming it wasn’t mosquitoes. I really hate leaving a negative review, but we ended up sleeping poorly because of this issue. On top of that, the tables in the rooms were full of ants, and there was no daily cleaning — our room was never cleaned during the entire week.

Great atmosphere! Only problem I had was I was moved rooms due to suspicions of bed bugs, the room I got moved to was AWFUL the shower head wasn’t staying on the wall, it smelled so bad, didn’t have curtains like the last, was a much smaller cramped room.

myself and friend left covered in bed bug bites. the overall cleanliness of the hostel was extremely poor. one toilet and shower for ten people. only positive was the nice bar areawhichwasgoodtomingle. the staff were not helpful at all.
