Shams Hostel

This hostel is a scam! Nothing they say they offer is actually offered. There's no breakfast, surf lessons, or yoga. But most importantly, there is zero security. My 'dorm' bed was simply in the first floor hallway and they hostel door is always wide open, even at night. There's no security lockers even. I booked three nights and informed them I would not be staying the remaining two nights, but was refused a refund. Be Careful!

Bedbugs, my ring got stolen here and I was locked outside for hours with noone to contact. Don't visit

It wasn't the cats fighting, dogs barking, or drunk guys talking into the night. Those are typical hostel experiences any location could've had. It was the wood hard mattress and the bed switch (2 times) and location that killed it for me. Not as close to the ocean as described. Should've be a first pick for anyone serious about their surf.

Es hat nach Kanal gerochen, zum duschen gab es keine Ablagefläche, und die Hände musste man sich um die Ecke in einem Waschbecken waschen (nicht hygienisch). Das Zimmer und Bett war recht sauber. Die Dachterasse (ganz oben) hatte kaum funktionierende Sitzmöglichkeiten. Im Vergleich zum letzten Jahre hat sich das Hostel nicht weiterentwickelt bzw leicht verschlechtert.

Great team and vibe at Iggybay hostel. All the hosts were amazing and made us feel so welcome. Plenty of activities planned and always happy to advise us on things to do. The location is great - close to the bay with sea views from the terrace.

It was a nice stay because of the people we meet there.But other than that we would often find it was not the cleanest place, and we had an incident with money that was in our bags.The hostel staff was nice and very quick to act when I told them I had some money missing , however they avoided showing me the cameras pointing to my bag, and insisted that maybe I had lost my money.Later I found out that this also happened to a roommate,and to one of my friends.You need to be careful with your stuff

The place is fine and basically met our expectations. The problem we had was that a a good amount of cash and a debit card was stolen from us, which we had in our backpacks because there is no secure place to put anything in, like lockers. When we brought this up with the guys at the hostel they didn’t seem too concerned and basically did nothing about it. We asked them to check the cameras but they never really seemed to want to do that. That said the environment and staff are quite cool.

The hostel is good, people are nice, and it has quality surf equipment, although it has many things to improve. The basement bathroom was always dirty, and it was hard to find toilet paper in the hostel. Kitchen equipment could be better. Lockers would be a good investment to ameliorate security and avoid problems. The staff could be more communicative and empathetic in particular situations.

The hostel is a house of three floors and a nice rooftop with a view on the village and on the ocean. The 6 beds dorm has a kitchen inside, and the bathroom was okey. Beds were comfortable and clean. We honestly had so much fun and laughs, and the manager Rashid is quite crazy: fun to be around him! He is also very welcoming and gladly he convinced us to eat dinner at the hostel for 100 dirhams, and this was the best choice ever! (Lots of food cooked for us by a young local chef... RECOMMENDED;)

i felt home instantly there, the people working there are super sweet. It is clean and smells good, the rooms are simple but cozy with a small balcony. it is pretty laidback and not overcrowded, they dont offer breakfast or do crazy stuff but you can access the kitchen anytime and feel free to cook, also the common area have a nice view and it has its own charm. it has a really good location close to the bay.

property was in the best location, super close to the beach, everything was super clean. what set this apart from other hostels//why it was my favorite hostel i have ever stayed at is because of the staff there. they truly treat you like family and i made everlasting connections there. stay at this hostel!!!!!! i’ll be back

The house was absolutely lovely—spotless, comfortable, and so tranquil. The two rooftop spaces were perfect for chilling and enjoying the stunning views. Mouad, the host, was incredibly kind and welcoming, making our stay even more special. Such a wonderful experience—highly recommend!

The location is amazing. Just walking distance from the main spots, and the rooftop deck view is insane! But what made me give this rating is the staffs there who accommodated the guests requests. One person said he wanted a tagine and asked for recommendations but instead they cooked us really nice tagine and chilled at the hostel. And when I wanted to see a nice sunset, we all (hostel guests) went to a view point by vehicle and seen the most amazing view! 100% recommend :)
