I regret staying in a place without a shower. It was truly the worst. I wonder if this is how it's supposed to be.
Other hi hostels are a lot better
Here I met the Milk of human kindness. KIV. No secure parking and a long walk with your luggage. Employee does not start till 5pm and made that perfectly clear. Locking gate to keep me out. It was freezing cold and I was on a motorcycle. I know being a gold card holder that ALL Hi hostels have a common room and kitchen where a warm drink can be made. So I face a choice. 2hrs stood in the cold or ride to Jasper 2hrs away. Jasper it was. The HI is built on the foundation of Christian value. Here?
No warer. No WIFI. Outside Wisheoom
Ein richtig rustikales Ambiente, aber die Lage am Fluss und die Aussicht Spitze. Der Host war freundlich.
A really rustic ambience, but the location by the river and the view of the Spitze.
Atmosphere was weird, not very welcoming and friendly. Not a dealbreaker though, some hostels are more fun than others. The amenities were great! The pit toilets were clean, the kitchen has everything you would need. They do have one pipe for drinking water, and a foot pump in the kitchen to wash your hands, which was really nice. Plenty of bowls, plates, pans, pots, coffee appliances, utensils etc to share and wash after use. Also appreciated the pillows and linens provided.
It's perfect for what it is. If you want to experience some time off the grid but aren't willing to hike/canoe deep into the park, this is your spot. Right off the highway. There's a little bit of electricity for charging and one tap with running water. The person working there was especially nice and helpful! But: it's not going to be the cleanest experience: no water toilets, no showers, it's in the forest and there's pine needles everywhere. This is not bad, but you should know
I will highly recommend for a super rustic facility. Clean! Great people.
Great place, really I loved it ! until the arrival of 3 men who decided to drink alcohol in the dorm, scream and even ingest hallucinogenic mushrooms. i felt totally insecure and went to sleep in the common room, but luckily for me there was 1 seat left in the 2nd dorm (which i didn't know existed. thanks to the 2 travelers who were checked in their dorm). i don't thank the manager for his disastrous planning...

Everything was excellent. Only issue was the water tank being empty in the am. Would be good if it filled automatically.
Great rustic hostel, the sauna and cosy common room were definitely highlights. The only thing I would say is that the beds in the dorms are quite short, I'm only 170cm tall and my feet were just shy of dangling over the end of the bed.

Amazing location, super cozy, and good staff. Great to have a warm bed and a kitchen to come back to after a day of hiking.
Brilliant location, friendly staff, right in the mountains beside a river. Its a great place to watch the sunset, the bed are comfy, the sauna was great and lots of cooking supplies in the kitchen. Highly recommend!

Très bon emplacement pour évoluer dans les Rocheuses proche de Lake Louise
Very good location to evolve in the Rockies near Lake Louise
Thanks to Danielle and Richard for helping us in our trip and stay at the HI hostel mosquito creeks.

Fantastic stay at this unique hostel. They have very few facilities, but this is what makes it so rustic feeling, and they are environmentally friendly. This hostel has a great atmosphere (stayed a sat night) with a big fire and lots of chatting with other folks if that's your style. Make sure you read what they offer facility wise, I was blown away by the staff telling me how many people turn up and expect a shower and plug ins!!
It's wild, and that's very clear on the description. Beautiful place. Tbh, it was better than what I expected. Just compare it to a camp ground, not a hotel.
It is a wilderness hostel.Given that, facilities were as described and well maintained. kitchen is well equipped. Beautiful location.
I will highly recommend for a super rustic facility. Clean! Great people.

Good property and a great price for what is typically a pricy area. Wifi has times so it’s nice to disconnect and it gives a cozy cabin vibe.

Great time staying here. Very peaceful.
My parents’ first time at a hostel, I’ve stayed at one of these before when I used to hike the Appalachians in the USA. Has everything a camper and backpacker would ever need to spend the night, plus some extra luxuries, all for a very reasonable price (especially compared to the ridiculously priced hotels nearby in Banff and Jasper). The campfire and wood burning sauna was an overkill of luxuries (especially after a chilly rainy day hike soaked to the skin) . Nice and toasty common area.
it's nice to stay in Hi Moosequito hostel.
