The Street Hostel Koh Lipe

+ Only the localisation and the pool

- I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The air conditioning situation is extremely frustrating. It was set so cold that it was impossible to stay comfortably in the room. Since guests don’t have access to the remote, we had to ask the staff to adjust it. However, instead of making a small, reasonable change, they increased the temperature so much that the room became uncomfortably hot and smelly. It really felt like this was done intentionally to make us regret asking. Housekeeping is also a problem: cleaning goes on for 3 to 4 hours in the morning, with doors left open, staff speaking loudly and laughing, making it impossible to rest. There are mosquitoes everywhere, which makes the stay even worse. But the worst part is the staff. They were extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I also experienced missing belongings during my stay, which raises serious concerns about trust and safety. Overall, I would strongly not recommend this hotel.

- The staff really rude, Forced me to pay extra saying I lost my card when they never returned me the card to extend my stay for another day. No staff was in Site when help was needed, they left the air conditioner on hot all night and they take the remote control away from you so you can’t change it until the cleaning stuff are back in the morning really uncomfortable

- could not control the AC nor all of the lights so there was light on at night, bathroom stank, breakfast just white bread and jam, no place to socialise, staff unfriendly. Maybe tourism has gotten a bit out of hand on Ko Lipe.

+ The location was nice, coffee machine at the breakfast was making good coffee.

- The rooms were really dirty, the bed was dirty, stinky, everything was moist, the mirrors looked like there were never cleaned. The room wasn’t really suitable for a hostel, we thought 1 bathroom for 8 people will be fine but it really wasn’t. People were queueing everyday to take a shower or just use the toilet. There was no common toilet or bathroom either. The room wasn’t wide enough, you couldn’t pass by to your locker if someone had their locker open. Everyday we were running out of toilet papier and there was no replacement on time. The staff is not helpful at all. I don’t recommend anyone to stay there.

- À fuir ! Moi et mes amis nous sommes fait voler + de 400€ en cash et des affaires personnelles dans 3 casiers fermés à clé. À la réception on m’a dit que le personnel n’avait aucun double de clé et que donc ce n’était en aucun cas le personnel de l’hostel qui nous avait volé. Ils ont préféré me dire à travers le traducteur que j’étais fou et que nous avions mal fermés nos 3 casiers et que c’était probablement d’autres clients qui nous avaient dépouillés lors de leurs check-out (alors qu’il n’y a aucune trace d’infraction et que seul un double de clé a pu ouvrir nos casier). Nous nous sentions plus du tout en sécurité le reste de notre séjour et le personnel de l’hôtel ont des comportements assez étrange lorsqu’ils nettoient et préparent les chambres. Un ami à moi est entré un matin dans notre chambre pendant que 2 femmes faisaient le ménage et l’une d’entre elle est parti se cacher dans la salle de bain en rigolant directement en voyant mon ami… (situation étrange et non professionnelle). Si une réponse du propriétaire est faite à ce commentaire sachez que vous n’êtes en aucun cas crédible et vous êtes juste des voleurs et des gens malhonnête qui volent et ne respectent pas les clients.

- They charged me twice for my stay and refused to refund me, still on going have raised with my bank but the staff at the property were completely useless and unhelpful, do not stay here unless you want to get scammed. The rooms are not clean either and lots of mosquitoes.

- Escribo esta reseña para advertir a futuros viajeros sobre la pésima gestión sanitaria y humana de este establecimiento. En mi primer día de estancia, detecté la presencia de chinches (bedbugs) en mi cama. Al informar al personal, su respuesta fue no solo insuficiente, sino alarmante por su ignorancia: se limitaron a decir "te cambiamos las sábanas y ya está". Cualquier persona con un mínimo de conocimiento en hostelería sabe que las chinches no se eliminan lavando sábanas; se esconden en las estructuras de madera de las literas y requieren una desinsectación profesional. Al no cerrar la habitación ni tratar la madera, la plaga sigue activa y saltando de una cama a otra, poniendo en riesgo a todos los huéspedes. Impacto en mi viaje: • Inseguridad constante: Pasé el resto de mi estancia en Koh Lipe con una ansiedad total, sin poder descansar. • Gastos y trabajo extra: Tuve que lavar absolutamente toda mi ropa y mochila a más de 60 °C para evitar llevarme la plaga conmigo, con el riesgo de estropear mis pertenencias. • Problemas de salud: Los picores han sido persistentes y, a día de hoy, sigo bajo tratamiento médico (pastillas) para paliar las reacciones alérgicas de las picaduras. Gestión de Booking.com: Igual de decepcionante ha sido la mediación de Booking. Ante un problema de salud pública y una estancia arruinada, su "solución" fue ofrecer una compensación ridícula de 5 euros. Es insultante. En situaciones de plagas, lo mínimo que corresponde es el reembolso total del importe, ya que el establecimiento no cumple con las condiciones básicas de habitabilidad y salud. Conclusión: No recomiendo este lugar bajo ningún concepto. Si aprecias tu salud, tu higiene y tu tranquilidad, busca otra opción en Koh Lipe. La falta de profesionalidad del hostel es un peligro para los viajeros.

+ La piscine et l’emplacement super

- Le personnel a l’accueil était désagréable, je lui ai fait par que ça puait dans mon lit et dans la chambre et que je souhaitais changer de lit parce que le mien puait l’humidité il m’a dit qu’il n’y avait pas d’autre lit de disponible alors que sur les 3 nuits où on est resté les lits sont restés disponibles. Il n’était pas dutout compréhensif pour le bien être de leurs clients.

- Arrivé annoncé à 15h, je viens un jour avant pour prévenir le monsieur à l'accueil que je serais là dès 11h et je lui demande si mon lit sera prêt il m'a dit : oui oui pas de soucis. Le jour J il me dit : non faut attendre 15h. Je rentre dans le lit en dortoir à 15h, il rester des déchets de la personne précédente et les draps tâché et plein de sables... a ce demander si la chambre a été faite. Le lendemain pour le départ qui doit être fait avant 10h30 il vient carrément dans la chambre à 10h10 pour me dire de partir rapidement, je vois une femme de ménage faire le lit mais ne change pas les draps pendant que je prend mes affaires et pour couronner le tout la caution de 500BTH il a oublié de me la rendre, obligé de la réclamer et d'insister !! Bref le jeune homme de l'accueil ne comprend rien a ce qu'on lui dit en anglais même quand on utilise le traducteur en thaïlandais et il dit oui a tout alors qu'en faite non. Vraiment pas aimable du tout je ne recommande pas cet établissement Piscine avec très peu de transats (les gens laissent leurs affaires toutes la journée dessus les transats pour les garder pour eux) vu le nombre de logement donc vous pouvez oublier la piscine Matelas très dure

+ Proche du centre et lieu de tous commerces. Le petit déjeuner offert et gratuit. (Brioches et café)

- Peu d'espace dans la chambre et une salle d’eau toilette pour tous donc insuffisante. Beaucoup de sables un peu partout dans le logement ce qui rend parfois désagréable l'habitation.

+ I like the swimming pool, the daily towel and other stuff like beach basket and umbrella they give you to use at the time of check in.. The location is nice for arrival and departure coz it's just next to the Pattaya beach. Though breakfast is just toast butter and jam it helps to start the day early. I could also extend my stay by directly paying the reception guy so it was a bit cheaper that way.

- 1- Check in time 3 pm is horrible considering the fact ferry reach there by 10-11 am and they have no comfortable common area to wait and no one to attend you untill 3 pm. Even though the Check out time is 10 and the staff comes and disturbs you at 9 am itself and stats cleaning the room even if you're sleeping. . 2- Staff was extremely rude, not helpful at all even at check in and later my money (1000 baht) was stolen from the locker they give and when I tried to inform the reception guy, he got offended like I am blaming him. He also intimidated me saying you can call the police when I was just trying to explain him the situation. I had to just give up to save my time. Staff ruined my Thailand arrival experience !

+ It was a good location, but that was about it

- The staff were quite unfriendly. No one behind reception if you arrive before 3 so you can leave your bags at the hotel until check but that’s not much of an issue. The room was clean when I arrived but 8 people sharing 1 bathroom gets so dirty quickly. The sink was blocked most of my stay so had to brush teeth in the shower etc as there was a constant pool of water in the sink. The small bin was changed once in my 3 night stay and it was constantly over flowing. Asked if anyone could help unblock it and no one did. Would be really easy for someone to sweep the floor in the room also as they are sweeping the corridors but unfortunately the room was constantly covered in sand. Breakfast was also only toast but had read that in reviews so was expecting it! Overall a good location but really poor basic cleanliness.

+ The location is amazing, rooms are ok not good air con and holes in the floor but for the price you can’t complain. Staff where helpful

+ Magnífica ubicación. En la walking Street súper cerca de inmigración, muy cómodo para pasar unos días. Hay gente que se queja de un baño para 8 personas, creo que eso se podría solucionar pero también hay que tener en cuenta el precio, es bajísimo y te cambian toallas y limpian todas las mañanas(eso sí a las 9:00 en pie). El desayuno es muy básico pero como he dicho por ese precio no puedes esperar un banquete.

+ I came back to this hostel, cause I had a good and comfy time during my last stay, but this time it was unfortunately disappointing: • The bathroom was wet (like floated) and smelly • The room wasn't really clean • Had to wait ages to talk to the hotel staff, that I even just put my key and card in the desk without talking to someone, other vise I would have missed my boat I am from the hospitality business, I do not take things hard and know the effort, but this time it was disappointing. If it wouldnt be the only female dorm in Koh Luoe, I wouldn't come back again.

+ Låg bra till nära stranden och gågatan

- Bodde i en stuga med hål i golvet och hål i väggen från badrummet ut, resulterade i fullt med myror!och myggor på rummet men även andra djur som kackerlackor och grodor

+ Alojamiento centrico, en plena Walking Street. Hostel bastante limpia y comodo, con taquillas grandes t sabanas y toallas sin cargo. Wifi y habitaciones mixtos o femenines o masculínas. Tiene piscina para relajarse y está al lado de la playa.

- Solo un baño por habitación. El chico de la recepción no es muy simpático que digamos… se le ve bastante quemado. Poco sitio par el desayuno, que a su vez es bastante escaso… solo pan de molde, mantequilla, mermelada y café. Pero por el precio de la habitación no se puede pedir mucho más.
