The Like Hostel & Cafe

This hostel was terrible—extremely dirty. I had to leave cause I couldn’t deal with it. Be prepared for a lot of stairs to reach your room or the rooftop. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures and were among the dirtiest I’ve encountered in Asia. It also wasn’t very social.

Not sure how there’s so many good reviews. Place does not look like the pictures at all, bathroom was dirty and run down, the hostel smelt of chemicals everywhere, was dusty and there were no locks on dorm rooms or overall hostel so anyone could walk in. Good location & dorm itself was fine, but would not recommend if you don’t want to feel unsettled, unsafe & generally dirty in the place you are staying.

Would not stay here again. Had to share a shower with another room so in total with like 16 people and we had to wait for the shower. Also not the most luxurious or clean. It is very basic. The breakfast was noodles or rice but not great. Also no free towels ( I knew that before but still not a good thing) and I found it not good vibe. They do organise activities which could be nice

People at the hostel were lovely - but otherwise it was the worst hostel I’ve been to. The whole place was super dirty - stairs, bathroom, all surfaces. Someone had a made a picture out of hair on the shower wall! Top bunks were very difficult to get onto even for people over 6ft. Lockers were pretty rubbish and lights didn’t work in some of the bunks. One staff member was really nice, the others ignored you if you spoke to them.

The hostel was unfortunately not as expected. I can't quite understand the good reviews. I was in the 8-bed room, which was quite hidden. The furnishings are old and not really clean. The bathrooms are almost all dirty and the tap fell off when I was showering. The receptionist snored so loudly at night that you could hear it all the way to the rooftop :) The rooftop is unfortunately a bit run down and there is a rat living up there.

This hostel is dirty and moldy! It looks nothing like the pictures. I have been to so many countries and hostels but this hostel is really a mess and dirty and they want you to walk barefoot - no way. The walls of my 8 person mixed dorm were infested with mold - which is harmful to your health. I did not feel comfortable as a solo traveler and even considered changing hostels. But it was only for 1 night. But I would not recommend the hostel at all!!!

Id like to give minus points when it comes to cleanness, the rooms and just everything. The staff was nice but not tooo interested (depends on the person). Im happy we left without bedbugs (that says everything) i was very happy to leave

AVOID THIS AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! First of all, the owner of the property was extremely rude and unprofessional towards us. She refused to return our deposit when she herself cancelled our reservation for two nights when she had emailed us about it just for one night and that too with an email! And she expected me to check my emails when I am on a vacation! She was really obnoxious and wasn’t willing to listen at al! I WOULD SINCERELY ASK ALL MY FRIENDS AND WHOEVER IS READING THIS, DO AVOID THIS ...

It was a nice hostel!

Pros - Big lockers - Free water refill - Free beer 7–8pm at rooftop - Nice host Cons - No daylight in the room where I stayed - Room and bathroom were not very clean. A LOT of dust under the beds behind the locker, i don’t think someone’s ever cleaned there - Beds were very shaky - Shower pressure was really low.. basically no pressure - Small room - I often woke up because the bed is not against the wall and a lot of light comes in - Room doors were never locked

This place is a 10/10. The owner Kate, and Chloe are amazing at giving recommendations. Kate’s mum is also a phenomenal cook. I’d highly recommend doing the Mekong Delta day tour through this hostel too. The rooms are air conditioned and cleaned daily. As far as Asia standards it’s definitely one of the cleaner places I’ve stayed. It’s a perfect social non party hostel, but there’s no pressure to be social. *fyi young girls: Paul breach is here so stay clear, He’ll leave you alone...

Cheap and good location. Friendly staff and especially appreciated the extensive recommendations (food etc) we got upon arrival as well as when asking for more specific things! Had some problems with bookings we made through the hostel for a tour and also a bus to Cambodia. Okay clean.

Does the job but definitely not one of the cleanest hostels i’ve stayed in. Towel i paid to rent smelt damp and not too clean. Good location and nice staff - shame paul breach was there xx

Staff were lovely, super welcoming and helpful, could buy a SIM card at the hostel which was IDEAL. Rooms were okay, bathrooms were mid, there was a pineapple with a candle in burning at all times I assume to make the rooms smell better but it left a bit of a weird smell. Great place to rest and sleep in a great location

The staff were kind and the location is pretty good however the room was pretty dirty and the drainage smelt really bad.

Très sympa, super bien placé Personnel très gentil !! Par contre la chambre était au dessus des cuisines, il y avait une odeur très forte et désagréable dans le couloir et les douches

Sehr entspannt, semi social hostel denke ich. Man muss aber auf Leute zugehen, du bei uns waren super lieb haben uns mit allen gut verstanden, Betten etc sauber und gut bequem. Staff nett - Lage gut

Le staff est très sympa mais malheureusement la propreté et qualité des équipements dans les escaliers, salles de bain et et chambres laissent à désirer.

This is the perfect social but non party hostel. The common areas are comfortable and easy to meet people in. Free beer from 7-8 was a great way to make friends. They also organize trips and family dinners. Comfy beds with curtains, luggage storage and shower after checkout. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff.

Good vibe and a nice rooftop bar (plus point, theres a guitar)

really nice little hostel, great value for money rooms were nice and clean and had decent ensuite. rooftop area so pretty and social and family dinner was such a good way to meet people and socialise!! 20min walk from the main area(post office/book street) but walkable ofc, staff were so helpful and friendly!

Locatie is top, mensen achter de balie zijn vriendelijk. Ik zou niet zeggen dat het heel sociaal is qua activiteiten die in het hostel georganiseerd worden.
