AMA Hostel Bangkok

- My stay at this hostel was very disappointing. The manager at reception was unprofessional and made me feel like I was providing customer service to a grumpy client. The shower water pressure was extremely low, making it uncomfortable to use. When I brought these issues up, the property dismissed them, even lying to Booking.com during the complaint process. Thankfully, I was able to get partial compensation from Booking.com, but I still had to cut my stay short and book elsewhere, which added extra costs. While the hostel has a high overall rating, it’s likely based on older reviews from years ago. My recent experience shows that things have gone downhill. I stayed here when it first opened, and it was wonderful back then—the owner actually cared. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case.

+ La Connection wifi ne fonctionne pas dans les chambre . Chambre petite pour mettre sac à dos ouvert ou valise . Une seule attache pour poser une veste . Pas de frigo .

+ Nous avions réservé deux nuits. La première, pas de souci. Lorsque nous sommes revenus la deuxième nuit vers 11h30pm, nos deux clefs étaient inactives. Impossible de rentrer dans la chambre. Pas de réception ouverte, le numéro de téléphone de l'hôtel ne répondait pas et pas de gardien de nuit ! Au bout d'un moment, nous avons fouillé les bureaux de la réception et trouvé un badge qui ouvrait toutes les chambres ! Le matin nous avons fait part de notre mécontentement. Soit disant le numéro de téléphone ne fonctionnait pas cette nuit là.. ce qui est faux car cela sonnait. On nous offert deux expresso. Nous n'avons jamais réussi a savoir pourquoi nos clefs ne fonctionnaient plus ! Malgré nos questions. Bizarre

- I got locked out and I had a flight early the next morning I couldn't make local calls and know one responded to what's app call. I was there the first night from USA. I was very scared that I would not be able to get in and in turn make my flight early the next morning, After many hours past wandering around the dark streets into the very late night some one opened the door and I was able to get a couple hours sleep. Awful.

+ Great location on the lantern alley right off of Ong Ang canal (walking access only), cute traditional Chinese building, very comfy beds, very safe with so many key card access points, towels provided and bathrooms were nice

- No drinking water! In this age and technology - crazy. I wanted to love this place so bad but really doesn’t look much like the pics now. Foot pool was pretty gross and surrounded by like a cage, not social at all despite being sold out!, rooms were wayyyy too hot (in Bangkok winter!), not enough lockers, water pressure absolutely sucked (didn’t feel clean after), honestly felt like way too much money for what you get

- - le dernier étage où se trouvent plusieurs chambres est une véritable étuve (la réception étant le seul endroit climatisé parmi les parties communes) - la terrasse et le bar n'ont pas l'air d'avoir servi depuis plusieurs années - la "piscine" qui est plus un pédiluve, voire un sauna étant donné la chaleur qui règne au dernier étage... - il y a une petite cuisine près de la réception, certes, mais sans évier, ni table, ni chaise...

+ La jeune fille à la réception adorable et très aidante . Garde les bagages pour certains voyageurs

- Super bruyant du fait du placement des chambre et portes qui font du bruit . Mec qui sa ramène “ sa femme payée”. Les filles du ménages sont submergés de boulots . Du coup salle de bain sont faites très tard ( donc pas trop propre le matin .. manque du pq tes très souvent .

+ Le bâtiment a du charme, les espaces de vie sont bien et l'emplacement.

- Le personnel n'est pas du tout arrangeant, il ferment la réception à 8h. Ils demandent une caution en cash ce qui n'est pas du tout pratique quand on quitte la Thailande .

- デポジット500バーツです。 それは良いとしても、返金するためにチェックアウトは朝の8時にしろと言われました。 通常は8時から11時です。 8時以降はスタッフがいないとのことでした。 旅行最終日で、深夜便のため、ゆっくり寝たかったのにひどいと思います。 事前にメールをくれたらキャンセルも出来たのに。 また、個室は想像より狭く、テーブルや椅子さえありません、 二段ベッドがあるだけです。 最悪でした。 ゆっくり寝たいのであれば、チェックアウトの時間を確認した方が良いと思います。

+ The location was great and the hostel was in a lovely building. Check in was very easy and the staff were friendly

+ Great position in Chinatown just away from the noisy area but next to the canal. Very friendly stuff, with free water and snacks provided every day. Modern setting with shared bathroom and kitchen on the ground floor.

- The electric plug next to the bed didn't work so we had to shuffle stuff around to have a working plug to have teas and to charge our phones.

+ le personnel était très agréable et nous a souvent aidé pour réserver des excursions, des tickets de train ect. Les chambres étaient toujours très propres et les lits comfortables. l'emplacement est apaisant.

- il faisait trop chaud dans les salles de bains. En dehors de cela, tout était parfait.

+ the most comfortable beds, the loveliest staff and the whole building was stunning!

+ Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The cleanliness and overall comfort were excellent, making it a very pleasant place to relax after a day of exploring. The location is perfect—you can reach all the temples within a maximum of a 30-minute walk, or just a few minutes by taxi, which are very inexpensive. A special mention goes to the young man at the reception, who truly made the stay unforgettable. He was immediately helpful, taking the time to clearly explain everything and guide us on how to get around. The staff overall were incredibly kind and welcoming—truly fabulous!

- The only downside of my stay was the absence of an elevator. I had to carry my suitcase up to the third floor, which was a bit inconvenient, even though it wasn’t very large.

+ Great location, comfortable beds, great service at the front desk.
