While abrupt, the owner was friendly so I wasn’t going to leave my honest review. After seeing the pictures from my stay, I decided to warn others. The condition of the place was appalling! The bed I reserved still had not been changed. There was junk and clothes strewn all over. The black mould in the bathroom was incredible. Couldn’t close door as a mountain of sheets blocked the door. No security whatsoever. I booked two nights and cancelled after first night. Location good but don’t...
Property is in a great location, and the property itself is nice. They offered sunset dinners and morning yoga sessions. However, there wasn’t a lock on the door and the beds weren’t as clean as expected. The owner was very particular and wasn’t the most inviting.
+ super nice Hostel with a lot of potential + perfect Location - one employee is clearly not the right person to run a hostel He complaints all the time even about guests and yells at guests. And he tries to control everything. - just cash payment because it's not an 'official' Hostel I would not stay there again.
The hostel itself is really beautiful and has a very calming atmosphere. I was quite disappointed with the owners behaviour, I thought he was patronising and aggressive from day one. No smoking sign but an ashtray out and the staff there said it was fine so long as you throw out the butts. The owner comes in, shakes my hand and very rudely points out the sign and says if he catches me smoking again we’re going to have a problem. There are also signs up to say you can’t lie on the couches? We...
It was beautiful around more of a hippie style
Lovely place and location, really sweet that Miltos makes breakfast. The showers didn’t work very well when I was there and the water cut out quite a bit. Dormitories were a bit cramped and there weren’t enough lockers for everyone to use but the beds were super comfy. The volunteers were really nice as well
Good location
Lovely hostel- very homely feel
Tiny little hostel in a beautiful little village. Many outside seating areas with a great overall vibe, the owner brought breakfast every day which was nice. However, the sleeping conditions weren't good: I slept in a sort of wooden shed on top of the toilet building with big cracks in between the wood, there was no wardrobe/hooks,no locker,no smoke alarm and the piece of wood that functioned as a door didn't even have a lock.€40 per night was too much for that room, but overall its a nice place...
It had a lovely stay at Lemon Tree Hostel and met really nice people. The vibe is great and the location perfect. The host offert sunset dinners, he gives advides for hiking tours and he made breakfast every day. However, there was no locker for privat stuff, the beds wern't as clean as you would aspect them and the showers did not work well.

I can't recommend this hostel enough. The host was so hospitable, i felt like a guest in someone's home. Breakfast was prepared for me every morning as well as a sunset dinner on my night of arrival. The venue is like a sanctuary, peaceful and serene. I meditated on one of the couches in a common area every morning. I wish I had booked more nights here (only stayed 3), but I had a flight to catch.
My friends and I had a great time at Lemon Tree Hostel. It was great value for money, a lovely community feeling and Miltos was very helpful and welcoming host.
I really recommend this place! It’s so cute, the setup makes it easy to meet people and Miltos, the owner, tries to bring people together at breakfast (that he offers for free), etc. it’s not 5 star hotel but it’s so unique and the location is amazing!
We LOVED our stay here with Miltos, what a great host who will always go above and beyond to make sure you have a good stay, we really appreciated everything you did for us. Security could be a bit of an issue but I understand that comes with the relaxed homely atmosphere (which makes this hostel so special), as long as you know what you’re walking into!! Great location, walking distance to beautiful beaches and mountain hikes, we will be back! Thanks so much Miltos :)
Miltos is the most beautiful host. His home is a special sanctuary. Could not recommend this hostel enough.
I am a solo travel and I stayed at Lemon Tree hostel for 4 days in the shared dorm. Every bed has got its own curtain for privacy and facilities include shared bathrooms, kitchen and a fridge. It was a full immersion hostel experience in a large, beautiful and colourful private house. I shared great moments and met wonderful people from all over the world. It was amazing! Thank you to Miltos and the whole crew for filling my holiday with such great memories!
Nice place. It is better to get in touch with Miltos before getting there . Just to make sure there is someone or know how to drop your stuff and hit the beach. Also there is nothing organised for the night. People naturally do something together themselves. So that goes by luck. I got a bunch of girls and we went shopping at midnight....

Best hostel for backpackers in Greek islands. I made a lot of friends, activities and had a wonderful time!!!
I had an incredible stay at the Lemon Tree! It was beautiful, a great location, and Miltos was incredible helpful. Great place to meet people and a perfect homebase for exploring the island! I stayed in the single room on the roof which was stunning. I hope to come again!
Miltos was incredibly accommodating and generous to us, in cooking us breakfast every morning and providing opportunities for us to meet other travellers! Lovely location, relaxing stay and a great blend between privacy and social activity.
I had the best time staying here, definitely coming back. Miltos is so lovely and is everyone who stays here.
Easily my best experience while traveling. There is no better way to experience Andros than at Lemon Tree. When I went I stayed for only 3 nights but wish I could have stayed for weeks like the other people who had stayed there and had chosen to extend their stay. I will be going back purely to see the owner again, he was awesome.
I spent a few amazing days at the Lemon Tree Hostel ! It’s the perfect place to meet people from all over the world, and the host is really thoughtful, always making sure you’re having a good time and sharing great local recommendations
The lemon tree is a very special place. It is not a hostel in the traditional sense, but you are a guest at Miltos‘ house - and he is a fantastic host. You’ll find him making crepes or omelets for everyone in the mornings, or invite you for a sunset dinner on the mountain. He also has great recommendations for hikes and beaches, and is happy to give you rides for a small fee. The facilities are basic (including an outdoor kitchen), but clean, and include great hangout areas like the ro...
I absolutely loved it! It's a super green, peaceful and open place on this magical island Andros. Also the surrounding beaches and cliffs are super beautiful. You easily can connect with other people and everyone was very welcoming and helpful. The owner is also very helpful and makes great trip suggestions and also helps a lot to enforce this feeling of community. I will definitely come back thank you :)
Lemon tree was a bubble out of time, it's not an hostel it's a home away from home, thank you Miltos and Mattheo for the work, definitely recommending this place to others!
The atmosphere and staff isn't very kindly and welcoming. The bedroom wasn't clean.
Really cozy spot located on the coast of Batsi. Owner made us breakfast each morning and made it super easy to get around, providing information and offering pickup/drop off from the port. Highly recommend!
