Charles Bridge Economic Hostel

May 2024, 3 night stay, 2 travelers (20f and 22m), 6 person dorm. Bunks creaked so loudly that they woke us up when we moved in our sleep. Common areas were unclean and uncomfortable. Other guests were middle aged and not social. Our roommates were very loud late at night and early in the morning. Lockers were small. We are generally easygoing people and have enjoyed other hostels on this trip. Though the staff members were kind, our stay left us wondering why this hostel is so highly rated.

Schlimmste Nacht in einem Hostel! Das Zimmer hat nicht so ausgesehen wie auf dem Foto. Die Fenster konnten nicht ganz geschlossen werden. Die Tür schloss nicht bis an den Boden und hatte unten einen 5 cm Spalt. Im Innenhof vor dem Fenster und vor der Tür hatte es direkt Aufenthaltsräume. Man hörte jedes Geräusch. Die Türen klemmten, so dass sie jedes mal geschletzt werden mussten. Ich bereue die Nacht in dem Hostel, sie hat uns den ganzen nächsten Tag i Prag versaut!

not sure why this has such a high rating; it’s the most unsociable hostel i’ve stayed in, with ‘common areas’ consisting of a few chairs on each floor which no one was ever using. the beds are very squeaky and the door to our room didn’t shut properly. the shower situation also isn’t ideal, for 14+ people on our floor there was one shower, so queues in the morning and evening were frequent. it is in a good location next to charles bridge, however this also makes it really loud at nig...

It was very warm in the hostel, just a vent in the room. Mattress and the showers (pretty low water pressure) were not the best. But the hostel is great located nearby the bridge and the staff was friendly. Overall was the stay okay.

Amazing location right next to Charles Bridge. Large rooms and windows towards the street included. The staff was very nice and helpful. However, pretty basic accommodation and not much in terms of atmosphere or common areas.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It is a great location but there is only one (locking toilet) and useable shower per floor. The doors were also rlly difficult to shut so had to slam them a lot, this isn’t good if people are trying to sleep. There are two showers available but it’s only lightly frosted glass and so you have to lock the whole bathroom for any privacy. There was also no bar so not very social at all and the dryer didn’t work so had to leave with my clothes damp.

I've been to many hostels in the past and can comfortably say that this hostel does NOT deserve a 9 rating. There's no air conditioning, so it's very hot and stuffy. Because there's no air conditioning the windows are always open to let air in (which helps a little) but does bring a lot of noise from morning to night because the hostel is right outside the bridge, so the streets outside are crowded with tourists, making a lot of noise. I actually have no complaints at all. It was a great place, the staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious. Definitely worth a stay.

overall a good hostel in central location, cheap bed for night or 2. fairly clean, comfortable beds and shower. although there is no social atmoshere so if that is a deciding factor this hostel is probably not for you.

The staff were super friendly and always open to chat/give suggestions for things to do! Only drawback is that it can get pretty loud outside during the night (if staying in one of the hostel rooms), but it’s to be expected with how central it is. Overall, amazing and highly recommend.

The Charles Bridge Hostel is amazing! The location, staff and value are phenomenal and we absolutely can not wait to return one day! Visiting Prague is an adventure of a lifetime and the hostel was our home away from home in every which way for the week!

I booked one of the apartments and had a hostel like experience with an Abnb like accommodation. Nicest place I have stayed in all my summer travels. Quiet, clean, kitchen had everything I needed, beds were the most comfortable I have slept in! Linens were exquisite!

Bon hostel, surtout si vous voulez visiter le château de Prague, vous êtes à 2 pas. Hostel très calme. Peu de rencontres, pas de soirées. Tout est très propre. Le personnel est sympa.

Amazing hostel in an amazing location.

A really great hostel, with a crazy location, kitchen and overall just overwhelming compared to the price. Huge recommendation.

I think it was good overall. The staff were super friendly and helpful. However I wish the reception was 24 hours, because in the middle of the night there was some issue where I felt unsafe and there was nobody to call. Probably the least social hostel I’ve been to, nobody talked, nobody was out, hostel didn’t have any sort of social events. But all in all I would say it’s pretty good. I liked the female dorm, but the mixed dorms bathroom wasn’t super clean.

This hostel has a great location, and really nice staff. Only main concern was the lack of lockers (however the dorm rooms themselves are very secure) and bathroom situation. One toilet and two showers shared between 3 dorm rooms. Showers would run out of hot water quickly.

Best hostel I've been to in terms of staff and service, and a perfect location. Rooms were spacious with plenty of storage (bring your own padlock) and free day bag storage after checkout. Kitchen was small but functional. I did think the number of bathrooms/showers was low for the number of people. There also weren't enough electric outlets for everyone in the room and no plugs in reach of the top bunks, which was an annoying oversight in an otherwise great hostel.

My second visit Prague. It was great experience. The hostel is near main attractions by walk. Good location. No problems with roommates and staff.

Great hostel, in an outstanding location, literally at the end of the Charles Bridge. Clean and comfortable. WiFi not the best, and lots of external noise from the road at night, but that's not the hostels fault. Perhaps not a hostel for meeting like minded travellers, not very sociable if that's what you want.

Hatte einen angenehmen Aufenthalt hier. Die Lage ist super zentral, die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich, es gab abschließbare Schränke im Schlafsaal. Zu fünf Sternen fehlt eine Klimaanlage, die man jetzt im Sommer wirklich bräuchte, Steckdosen am Bett, auch für die obere Etage und im Bad eine Lampe, die nicht durch den schlechten Bewegungsmelder alle fünf Sekunden ausgeht. Sonst war alles i.O.. Die anderen Gäste waren freundlich, aber nicht darauf aus, neue Kontakte zu knüpfen.
