Okay this hostel does have a nice garden area but I’ve stayed in nearly 30 hostels throughout Europe and SE Asia in the last couple years and this one is without doubt the most claustrophobic one I’ve ever stayed in. It was actually a struggle to even get to my bed and there’s no room to move so it makes doing anything with your bag a challenge. The lockers are weirdly placed above the beds too. Dorm setup was kind of weird and felt cramped. No natural light in the room, so it was always dark. On the plus side, the owner let me check in early, which was nice. The greenery in the outdoor common area was lovely, and the location is quiet & close to everything in the old town. Not super social, but people were friendly and mostly older. The owner wasn’t too happy and denied when I asked for a late checkout after songkran (~1 hr), even though the dorm had empty beds. Good for short stay.
The hostel is well located. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. The room was good. During the night there was a lot of noise coming from the garden, which is the only downside.
The outside area is quite pretty, but the inside of the building we stayed in was very dark and had a very unpleasant damp smell. We I asked the staff to please turn on the ac because I had a migraine and needed to lay down, they said no and furthermore forbid me to open the windows. The WiFi was not stable at all and just watching a YouTube video was not really possible without taking breaks to buffer. The owner was very kind ,helpful when it came to phoning with locals and sorting things out.
Pros: The rooms and bathrooms are clean. The bed is comfortable. The location is great! You’re in Old Town, but it feels like you’re kind of in a jungle. There’s a smoking area. Good vibes. Cons: There’s no filtered water. You have to buy it from a machine across the street for 5 baht. There are no kitchen facilities; not even an electric kettle or toaster. The WiFi hotspot kicks you out frequently and won’t always let you log back in. The aircon only has one setting: freezing.
Great accommodation for sleeping, but absolutely no social atmosphere. There is no common room or social place to meet people. No kitchen to cook. Nice staff, great beds, no social life.
Would not choose to stay here again. The location is nice! But the facilities and staff did not compare very well to many other hostels. Yard is beautiful (and the grounds staff were great!) but it also means mosquitoes, even in the rooms. Staff also enter private rooms and move things around to turn off AC as soon as you leave in the morning. Most challenging part was the lack of Wifi. If it did connect it only lasted a few minutes and required constant log-ins that only worked 30% of the time....
Overall, the place is cute. However, the rooms are jam packed. Its basically 6 beds in a hallway. You have about a foot of space to walk to your bed. The doors throughout the hostel are so short that I hit my head on them every time I left my room, even with the signs that say watch your head. They light a ton of incense and it irritated my throat and eyes. Not comfortable for more than a night.

Awesome hostel. Not super social but we knew that going in! And still met some great people just hanging out in the beautiful garden area. Only comment is that the walls are quite thin so could hear other rooms and bathrooms in the night, but wasn’t a big problem at all. Beautiful place that I’d be happy to come back to
Endroit très paisible et appréciable. Le jardin est vraiment le charme principal de l’endroit. Les deux hommes qui gèrent l’hostel sont d’une réelle gentillesse. Les lits sont très confortables, grand casier de rangement. Tout est super ! Le seul bémol serait les moustiques avec la végétation autour mais c’est tout à fait normal et le faite qu’il n’y ai pas de réel cuisine à disposition mais ça reste un merveilleux endroit, je recommande !!
The garden is really the main charm of the place. The two men who run the hostel are really kind. The beds are very comfortable, large storage locker. Everything is great ! The only problem would be the mosquitoes with the vegetation around but it is completely normal and the fact that I do not have a real kitchen at my disposal but it is still a wonderful place, I recommend !!

Absolute bliss. I booked a private room and it was exactly the quiet getaway I wanted, in the middle of the beautiful green garden and tucked away from the hustle of the city but still an easy walk away from everything. The staff was so friendly, and I wish I could have stayed a bit longer!
Amazing location, the garden was so nice to hang out in, the staff was so amazing and so welcoming. They remembered my name and made sure to ask me how my day was and if I needed anything. So helpful with booking transportation. The room was a long line of beds, and the AC was at the far end so it took longer to cool down. There is a fan and I desperately wanted it on but it was in front of someone else’s bed and she wanted it off so no fan unless everyone wants it. Quiet and calm vibe
It's like an oasis with beautiful surroundings, great location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. It's not very social, but good place to chill and relax.
Amazing location, the staff were very helpful and friendly a the garden was beautiful, a very relaxing area to hangout in the evening. The private room was great and very clean. We would definitely stay here again.
This place is friendly and beautiful. The shared dorms are a little tight and dark, but it’s fine for a few nights. There was a mix up with my room and they cancelled some of my nights with no refund due to a language barrier misunderstanding. Would’ve liked to stay longer besides that!
Great, peaceful and quite place to stay in the heart of Chiang Mai. Beautiful garden, incredibly clean and they welcome you with free fruit. I’d stay there again.
Loved my time here. The garden area is a huge bonus and great for socialising while being incredibly chill. Just wish the beds felt a bit more private (can see over the curtains when you walk pass)

I have been staying for the 2nd time at Siriwan guesthouse. For me it really feels like comming home. The staff is always very kind and thoughtfull, private rooms and dorms are very nice. And the garden is just a safe heaven in the city. I absolutely love it and I dont think Ill ever change to another place when I am in Chiang Mai
Superb hostel, i really enjoyed my stay here and slept so well. Gardens and social areas are beautiful and the staff are so kind and helpful. Dorm is a tad dated, but beds are comfy and plenty of privacy. Definitely a great place for older solo travellers.
Super Preis/Leistungsverhältnis! Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Räume waren sauber. Einziges Manko: das Zimmer war an einer Straße gelegen, daher etwas laut. Sonst alles super!

Clean, safe, and perfectly located. It’s only 5 minutes from the jazz bar and evening food market. There were no lockers for your backpacks, but you can put valuables in the overhead bins. Comfortable and private. Great outdoor space as well, very very beautiful. They let me store my bag post-checkout as well which was very kind.
Genuinely the best hostel I’ve stayed in. The staff were the friendliest and super informative and helpful, the atmosphere was so peaceful and calm but also pretty social. The beds are very private and comfy and the bathrooms are spotless and always so clean. Very clear why this place has a perfect rating, will absolutely stay here again when I come back to chiang mai!
Ich bin verspätet eingecheckt wegen meinèm Flug, aber Andi war so lieb und hat auf mich gewartet. Sehr hilfsbereit! Social Area war zwar nett gemacht, aber es haben sich wenig Leute dort aufgehalten. Ansonsten sehr dunkel und die Steckdosen am Bett sind extrem unpraktisch. Betten waren bequem
I was late checking in for my flight, but Andi was so nice and waited for me. Very helpful! Social Area was neatly made, but there were few people staying there. Other days it was very dark and the outlets am Bett are extremely impractical.
