We ended our trip in Costa Rica in San José and on Luz de Luna. The staff was very helpfull and nice, but the rooms were quite dirty and not charming at all. Another note before you book here you should be aware that there are trains running very close by so you will be woken up at 5.30 am and then they won’t run midday but return at 6. pm. So don’t expect to sleep much…
The ho(s)tel is located close to the railway. It’s very noisy from 5:30 in the morning. Additionally it’s a hotel, so less interaction with other guests. For a hostel vibe go elsewhere. What I did not like the most was the fact that they refused to give me the included breakfast after 10 am. Luz de Luna is a “breakfast cafe” with advertising outside breakfast is served till 12:00. It’s a bit false advertising when for hostel guests that ends at 10:00 (especially when nobody told me)...
The hostel is well located, but for the price I think they will be much better. the shared areas are nothing special, you don't feel like you are in a hostel, it's nothing cozy. the shared women's room smelled wet and you only have one sheet per person, which is very little, because in the morning it's cold. although the staff was friendly, I wouldn't recommend it nor would I stay there again.
Hotel bien situé. Personnel aidant .nous sommes arrivés à 00h00.par contre le train qui passe à côté et qui klaxone des 5h00 du matin .c'est horrible .quartier en sécurité. Boules qu'ils obligatoire
Hotel well located. helpful staff .we arrived at 00h00.par against the train that passes by and honks at 5am .it's horrible .neighborhood secure.boules that they mandatory
We spent only one night here. It was in a cute location with plenty of restaurants and walkable streets. It was a cute place to stay but the staff was uninterested and rude - also EXTREMELY slow and forgetful at the restaurant. Beds are terrible. Would not recommend unless it is your only option.
Good value for your money I suppose, but facilities are a little dingy. Room did not live up to the expectations of the photo. Rooms are stuffy, they do offer a small fan if requested but it shuts off after 2 hours and you have to reset. The parking area is very small and narrow to get into, ended up getting a spot on the street which was easier. Breakfast good. Great location.
Amazing hot showers, super yum breakfast and helpful staff. We arrived on Semana Santa with many restaurants closed and the lady kindly warmed up some leftovers for us even though it was at the end of her shift. Bed a bit springy but overall it was a great stop over for one evening. Location is perfect!
We really liked the neighborhood with all its restaurants and bars. Breakfast was included and pretty good. Our room was good and clean. Would stay here again!
Excelente lugar, atención, personal, ubicación.
Excellent location, attention, staff, and location.
Muy cómodo, excelente ubicación y desayuno muy completo. Gracias!
Very comfortable, excellent location and a very complete breakfast.

Wonderful unique hotel. Great location. Only downside is road noise which is pretty much over at night.
My first hostel experience in Costa Rica, and I could not be more pleased. The room was secure, had good Wi-Fi, was well located, and came with a delicious free breakfast. I liked this hostel so much that I booked it again at the end of my trip.

I absolutely loved it here, the breakfast alone has me wanting to come back :)
É mais um pequeno hotel que um hostel. Mas a localização é ótima, me senti segura. Funcionários simpáticos e bom café da manhã.
It's more of a small hotel than a hostel but the location is great, I felt safe, friendly staff and good breakfast.

Excellent location surrounded by cafes, restaurants and bars, with a delicious breakfast, the best coffee so far, very friendly staff and cozy place

The hotel is beautiful. Located in the heart of the trendiest neighborhood in San Jose. Every detail was nicely put together to create a very unique atmosphere. I greatly appreciated the local experience they offer. The Costa Rican breakfast was fantastic and the way coffee is served was something I’ve never seen before. You can even buy their ground coffee grown in a small farm. The staff is the best! Can’t say enough about this hotel
This is an oasis in a bustling city. Located in a very safe area, clean, close to American & Central universities. Calle 33 is where all the nice restaurants are (there are very few beyond cafe, bakery, sodas downtown), which light up at night. Neighbourhood is also mid range residential & as a lone female I was happy walking around this block (I only went downtown early morning to sunset). The room was clean, bed comfortable, shower hot, towels fluffy!, very pretty breakfast room/lobby, got t...
