Zostel Kodaikanal

The whole staff from the reception to the cafeteria had a very bad attitude. Not so friendly or polite. I will not go back there again.

Don't fall for their pictures on the site. Rat roaming all around, very strict rules. Doesn't at all give hostel vibes.

The rooms are fine and reasonably clean. The location is quite far away and tucked away from most sights in Kodaikanal. The atmosphere is good though and other travellers nice. But worst of all is that they have stray dogs on the property that can get quite aggressive (trying to bite someone) and that bark all night.

The cleanliness in the entrance corridor was not good. We got the rooms at last but we made the payments before any one else even checked in. The food is costly but doesn't taste so good. The location is okayish, not as good as expected.

Nice enough, but no real atmosphere

I really liked the hostel's garden and the hammocks. Outside of that, nothing special there. It's rather old and the dorms are relatively small compared to other Zostels. Not much of a backpacker's vibe here, most guests were groups looking to party, making way too much noise at night...

Was a really nice hostel. The food here is tasty and good value for money. Good facilities but very cold as the door was always left wide open all through the night, it would be nice if this could be addressed in the future

Really nice hostel with lots of social common spaces and clean rooms ! Good location, only half an hour walk from Kodaikanal centre and good views:) Lots of restaurants nearby.

location is pretty good. the view from the common room is excellent. rooms are confortable. it's one of the only places to meet other backpackers in kodai !

Really enjoyed staying at this hostel! Devesh was so friendly and provided information on things to do in Kodaikanal and also helped me booking a bus to Bangalore. The hostel was fully booked on some days when I wanted to extend, but luckily someone cancelled and Devesh booked me in straight away. The location was beautiful and only took around 30 minutes to walk to the main market. The dorms were clean, washrooms had hot water for shower and beds were comfy. In general was a lovely experience.

Awesome place! Cool atmosphere, good for remote work, meet travelers and high speed Wi-Fi. The place is beautiful among the mountains.
