Tan Hostel x Cafe

Ons beddengoed was hardstikke vies. Allemaal vlekken en bloedvlekken in de gordijnen. Vloer zag er ook niet uit.

Location and their restuarant is really nice but the hostel staff is unnecessarily rude! Something really strange in Thailand where everyone is so kind and helpful but this hostel!

"May" was extremely rude to me during my stay. I arrived with a bad ankle, barely able to walk, i had emailed ahead more than 24 hours in advance asking all the hostels for my stay to put me on a bottom bunk because of my ankle, everyone replied saying yes with well wishing except Tan hostel. When i arrive they had put me on a top bunk and May got really aggressive with me saying just because i emailed i shouldn't assume i will 100% get it, i've never had a reception staff be so rude in my life.

bedbugs there. I told the staff that I found bedbugs in my bed and they weren't even shocked by it and just told me that they had a problems with bedbugs for the laat two months in two dorm rooms.

Meh. Beds were uncomfortable didn’t sleep well, not much common area no one at the desk after 8pm. In the morning cafe downstairs was packed and over priced and mushed in with the checked out/in desk. As we were try to check out there was a guy at the check out so we sat down at the table next to it to wait within seconds we were shooed off to seat people for the cafe. It’s fine to have two business but not when it’s so mushed together both customers feel cramped and unwelcome. Would not r...

No effort was made to fix the issue of showers not having lights or hot water. So we checked out and went somewhere else.

Breakfast doesn’t have. Towel doesn’t have either. AC always on and you don’t have the remote so can’t control it. Room always dirty, like the floor has dust, so with the ac on and dust in the room prepare to get a sick throat. Bathrooms hot as hell, floor dirty too, air dryer they have one but it’s the same as if they don’t have because doesn’t work well. Beds comfy. They have a lot of cheap tours for you to book so that’s good. Cheap laundry even for shoes. Not social at all.

Not sure how this is so highly rated. The location is good, there is a nice view and the staff are helpful. But the AC in the rooms was weak, the curtains did not offer nearly enough privacy/block light. There is one mens bathroom and one womens’, on different floors. So you have to hope youre on the same floor (if you use the mens you will likely not be on the right floor as majority of dorms are on a difficult floor). I did not enjoy my stay at TAN at all but it’s bc it’s in a very very loud and traffic-y environment just at Ao Nang Main road which is basically Thailand Mallorca full of drunk tourist with scooter accidents. The cafe is nice though albeit very expensive. Would not recommend anyone who has some backpacker experience to stay here.

En términos generales bastante bien, hostel tranquilo, camas cómodas y amplias. Locker debajo de las camas inferiores (a lo mejor esto puede ser un poco molesto si haces check out de madrugada y tienes que sacar tus cosas). Baño muy amplio, varios inodoros y duchas. Zona de lavabos y zona de espejos para prepararte y no ocupar otros espacios, la única pega es que al ser abierto había mucho calor y se notaba el cambio de temperatura cuando entrabas. La chica de la recepción muy simpática.

I only spent one night here and I would say my stay was fine. The staff was super nice and accommodating so that wasnt a problem at all. But the bathrooms were quite messy/dirty, even though on the pictures it looks like quite a modern clean bathroom. Rooms were ok: the curtains did not cover the entire bed so you would need a towel to completely shut yourself off. There were also a lot of men at this hostel. As a female traveller I didnt love this, but this is ofc outside of the hostels control

Im Schlafsaal gab es keine richtigen Wände zwischen den Betten, also ist man wenn neben einem Licht angemacht wurde direkt aufgewacht und hatte auch nicht so Privatsphäre. Die Bäder waren nicht aufgeräumt, die Mülleimer waren immer voll und bei den Männern hat es auch gestunken. Wenn man nach unten wollte also zum Männer Waschraum musste man eine Treppe nutzen die halb durch das Café verlief, wodurch man vor oder nach dem Duschen oder aufs Klo gehen vom halben Café angeschaut wurde.

Super dirty! There were things from people all over the bathroom (which was basically just trash). Got rarely cleaned. No shelf at your bed (for personal belongings), no hangers for towel/clothes. Rooms were poorly soundproofed, you could hear everything. Staff was really friendly. Location was great (a lot of shops, bars, restaurants around).

Great stay

The cafe below is great for coffee and food, however hostel not sociable at all. Beds were okay but no shelf to put items in bunk and things could fall down due to gaps in top bunk. Toilets seemed to stay the same so not sure whether they were cleaned. Hostel was okay, but if you’re looking for social this isn’t it.

Here I stayed 2 nights in 4 Bed Mixed Dorm. Rooms on 1st Floor and they have decent Café at ground floor. Very comfy & clean bed. Common wash area need improvement. Only one Toilets with Health Faucets Spay. A.C. switch off from 11am to 4pm. Restaurants, Supermarket, Ao Nang Beach(700mtr) near by. Convenient location to go anywhere in Krabi. They deposited 200 Baht for Room Card & 100 Baht for Towel. No any age restriction in this Hostel, and outside Food & Liquor allow at ground floor lobby ar...

The stay was decent. The hostel isn’t very social. The cafe downstairs is alright. It’s about a 10 min walk from where all the partying happens.

Nice hostel at an affordable price. Staff were very helpful and went out their way to help me with a problem. It didn’t seem overly social in the brief time I was there, but I’m sure could be if you spent more time there. The cafe downstairs is very nice.

Das Tan Hostel ist ein wirklich großes und modernes Hostel. Zum Connecten nicht so richtig gut geeignet. Die Lage ist zentral in Ao Nang. Im Zimmer keine richtigen Wände zum Schlafnachbarn und man kann durch die Vorhänge durchblicken. Es fühlt sich nicht ganz so privat an. Wenn man aus dem Zimmer geht, muss man immer an seine Zimmerkarte denken (auch nachts, wenn man auf Toilette muss).

bathroom was abit dirty and smelly and the floors in rooms always seemed to feel dirty. hard to socialise and you dont actually know whose staying in the hostel and whose just eating there.

War eine tolle Unterkunft!! Man läuft nur ungefähr 5 Minuten zum Strand runter und ist direkt im Zentrum des Ortes. Außerdem ist das Café super süß und das Personal echt nett.

Really nice hostel. The cafe downstairs was always super busy and looked really nice, would be good if perhaps they did a discount for guests as it was out of my backpacker budget! Also the bathrooms could do with a bit more of a tidy, as there were items in the showers and communal areas that didn’t move my whole stay.

we loved it here, good location, clean comfy beds and bathrooms! Only downside it’s not a social hostel. Cafe downstairs is great too!

Best hostel we’ve stayed in! Very very clean, nice rooms and the pros of an amazing cafe being downstairs is gorg!! There’s a getting ready area by the showers which was perfect.

Kann man guten Gewissens weiter empfehlen. Da Hostel hat einen sehr coolen vibe. Eins der besten in denen ich in meiner Zeit in Asien war.

The stairs on the bed hurts -.- But all in one it was nice

Destacar que es un lugar muy limpio y en una buena ubicación, me volvería a quedar aquí de seguro. Único detalle que encontré es que donde a ajo es un café, no hay mucha privacidad entre lid clientes y uno como huésped. Buen lugar!

The locker space under the bed was awesome! Every hostel should have that much locker space. I appreciated how many showers and toilets there were. Very clean and nice location.
