GRAND HOSTEL LDK Osaka Shinsaibashi

Over all it's your basic budget hostel. Don't expect any help from the staff or a comfy sleep, but it's got a decent atmosphere to meet people.

The worst hostel I’ve done in Japan. So dirty… It looks like an hotel complex, it had 8 floor so you have to wait for the elevator for long minutes. The staff wasn’t helpful nor nice. The rooms were dirty. The only cool things is the neighbourhood

I didn’t spend much time in the hotel’s facilities, so I can’t comment on the social aspects or happy hour. The staff seemed a bit annoyed when we arrived early, which was surprising since they have a luggage storage room. We had a private room, which was spacious and even had a balcony, very nice on paper. However, the bed was absolutely the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on. The mattress was rock hard, and the pillow might as well have been a brick. After a long day of traveling...

Main tissue was the mattresses are super super thin, the common area was big and spacious with loads of facilities. I personally won’t be stay here again as they had an additional option for a mattress topper, which to me is basically admitting that they know the mattresses are poor…

The beds are hard and uncomfortable. It was very difficult to sleep. Guests in hostel rooms were up throughout the night repacking suitcases. This is not a typical hostel. Lots of family groups. Not social. I would not recommend this place for a solo traveller.

I didn’t enjoy my stay here. I found the hostel to be very unsocial given there’s only one common space - this gives more “hotel vibes” than hostel vibes. Social life could be improved with a social hour for travellers and a complimentary bev. There was a black mouldy banana that sat for 6 days in the kitchen. A lot of food is left rotting with no dates and there are a LOT of extra items in the capsule rooms as if someone is living there. Location is about a 20 minute walk from Dotonb...

I had really high expectations going into this hostel as it has great reviews but my overall experience was really negative. The washrooms were never clean and it seemed like when they did get cleaned it was never done properly and they consistently smelt really bad. The beds were also incredibly uncomfortable which was disappointing considering the price of this hostel. I also noticed that the staff showed 0 interest in trying to create a common area and the entire vibe was super lame.

Would rather interact with robots than staff at this hostel. Robots would probably have more enthusiasm and hospitality than the humans here. Also dude kept fiddling the payment while it was going through telling me to wait - like, I am waiting you’re the one who keeps trying to touch my bank card for some reason. So annoying.

Good location and friendly staff, clean rooms. Beds were not comfortable by hostel standards, and not much of a social vibe. Did the job, but probably wouldn’t stay again

This place is overall a decent hostel, would maybe consider it next time. Perhaps spoiled by staying elsewhere in Japan but by those standards this place was quite dirty. The kitchen space was really filthy, with trash overflowing from the bins. Bedroom clean enough and the bathrooms ok too! Staff were helpful; atmosphere dead. No free breakfast. Random but this is the only hostel I've ever ever stayed in that didn't have a water machine or free water. Tap water in Osaka is fine though.

Spacious and comfortable bed spaces and common areas! Has a Lawson right in the corner and the location is perfect to move around walking or by public transport. I also had to extend my stay and the staff was very helpful and friendly about it.

Très bel établissement avec une aire commune bien aménagée et une cuisine complète. Plusieurs types de chambres possibles. J’avais un dortoir avec des « chambres » individuelles à l’intérieur. J’ai vraiment bien dormi.

It’s a very nice place and I would recommend. I just think it should have a host to warm up lonely travels with activities to get them together and know each other and maybe visit places together. It is not just about economics, people stay in hostels to grt know people and culture.

The staff are a lovely bunch of friendly people that made me feel welcomed. The takoyaki-night they organized was great and the overall amosphere lovely. The showers are big and clean and the female dormitory is much the same. Nothing but praise to the team keeping it all running!☆☆☆☆☆

Great to be back again

This was one of the best hostels we stayed at in Japan! From the rooms to the amenities and facilities to the helpful staff. All other guests were amazing to meet along the way and it ended up being my family’s favorite city in large part due to the Grand LDK!

Good location, clean facilities, spacious beds.

I would stay here again. Being such abig place staff are not as friendly as some of the smaller once. Very clean shared bathrooms but with high frequency of usage your luck depends on the accumulation of other users. Even though there seems to not be enough shared facilities there was never a wait for anything.

The washrooms were clean, the bunks & the room was sufficiently spacious, the staff is really friendly and helpful, you can store your luggage before and after check in & check out — free of cost. The hostel has a metro station, a 7- eleven & family mart within walking distance. Location is also ideal.

Really nice hostel, sad we were only there briefly, will be coming back

In my opinion, it was the best hostel/hotel so far. It's much far better hostel than the hostels in Europe. Super clean, super friendly staff, amazing shower and clean. I should rate it 11 out of 10, i wish i could. And its next to the subway 1 min only on foot.

I had really great time at the hostel, one thing to be aware of is the pillow was really bad. But other than that it was really good

JApanese hostels are the "world's best" and this just added to that reputation.

this hostel have everuthing you need. a weel equipped kitchen, friendly/helpful staff and spacious capsules. i had a really good stay here. it is also central so it's easy to get everywhere you need

Tolle Lage vom Hostel. Ein paar Gehminuten von vielen Restaurants und Convenience Stores. Personal war super nett und hilfsbereit. Badezimmer hatte alles was man benötigt. Die Schlafkapsel hatte eine super Größe und man konnte dort auch seine Sachen wegschließen. Das Hostel würde ich wieder buchen.

stayed in the big room with a lot of people and it was really nice, felt safe leaving my stuff there and it's comfortable. it was a bit hot though

Super clean hostel and very comfy. The location is perfect, you are very close to Dotonbori.

Bel hostel mais très calme, il est bien situé, à côté de tous les quartiers sympas et branchés. Dommage que personne ne parle et que ce ne soit pas plus social. Les chambres sont assez spacieuses mais il n’a pas de casier pour mettre sa valise.

I stayed in a mixed dormitory room. The shared showroom was decent thought - never had to wait for a shower/sink and they were always clean (especially considering the larger number of people on the floor). Good location close to Dotonbori and easy to get to other parts of the city & Nara. Not very social, when I was here there seemed to be lots of families and groups staying, however the common area is very nice with a TV & plenty of seating. Overall I had a good stay and would come again!
