Imano Osaka Shinsaibashi Hostel

I would honestly say don’t stay here. This felt like a complete money trap.I was 40 minutes late past checkout. Not hours, not half a day, just 40 minutes. They charged me 50% of the room rate as a penalty.When I said that charging half the room price for being 40 minutes late was excessive, the staff just shut me down. They kept repeating that it’s their policy and that I had to pay because they are the staff. The way they handled it was rude and dismissive. No flexibility, no understanding...

It's basically a hotel on which you share a bathroom and dorm. There's no proper common area and for a solo traveler it's not the best place to be. They do have a cafe/bar but you HAVE TO purchase a drink to hang out there, which pretty much defeats the purpose of a hostel. In general it feels like someone created this "hostel" off a description they got somewhere else.. it's weird. Safe, but weird.

The bed areas were very tight, and if you had a huge luggage you would most likely had to put it inside the capsule and sleep with it which was uncomfortable. Very messy rooms too everybody’s stuff was everywhere and easy to get your stuff st****. Staff was ridiculous. You can’t sit down and relax at the bar/cafe unless you bought something like a drink or whatever. You can’t even have a glass of water and sit down, you literally have to give them money in order for you to sit down and...

I’m glad I only stayed for one night. The place is somehow really dark with only a few windows, has a weird smell and not really clean. The mattress was hard as well, wouldn’t recommend

The Imano hostels are expensive for the lack of a vibe you’re getting. They’re more like city hotels than a hostel. Super clean and comfy beds with a little shelf for your goods and a place to hang things by the bed. If you’re a solo backpacker, this place is not the most social.

Bed was not even worth being called a bed, just a folder mastress from a sofa super thin it wan't a good night, my back was sore after sleeping.... Cool emplacement, staff rather friendly not all of them, cool cafe but no vibe between the guests not social hostel. So-so the note from hostel is 6.3 but actually closer to 5 out of 10. For real it's too expansive for a crappy bed, I'm not the only complaining about the beds, maybe time to do something about it

No hostel activities. Lobby was generally empty. Maybe the most uncomfortable spring bed I’ve had in a long time. Small blankets barely fit me at 6’1”.

It was okay, mattress’ are very thin! Hair all in the showers, but overall wasn’t too bad, people were friendly and staff were helpful!

L’emplacement est bien, mais pour le prix, les chambres étaient tellement maximisées qu’il y avait peu d’espace pour les sacs, et pour le nombre de lit, le nombre de toilettes et douches est particulièrement petit. Il n’y avait pas vraiment d’endroits accueillant pour se reposer. Bref, ça fonctionne, mais ce n’est pas un lieu très invitant.

I had a not so great experience with this hostel. Upon arrival I noticed that my blanket was still damp and not completely dried. I called the staff about it and asked if I was able to have a new blanket and the attendant immediately blamed me for the blanket being wet and asked me why I got it wet. I explained via Google translate that it wasn’t dried completely from being washed. He reluctantly gave me a tiny blanket. The bed was more uncomfortable than the floor. They charge for towels.

Nettes Hostel, war sehr social auf meinem Floor. Wäsche braucht leider Ewigkeiten, aber sonst wie jedes andere Hostel in Japan extrem sauber. Leider die Zimmer etwas eng für das ganze Gepäck

Great location and lovely stay

Great location, clean with decent offerings. Feels more like a hotel that you know other travelers are generally at rather than a traditional hostel experience, so dont expect a big common area.

The common areas are a little tight and it’s not the most social hostel but overall a great place to stay in Osaka. The rooms were clean. The bathrooms were decent to good. The staff were super sweet. I would absolutely stay again!!

Good location, friendly staff, good common areas. Rooms are a bit small/no lockers so they get more crowded. Bed was comfy. 2 showers on the floor meant they were occasionally difficult to get when wanted.

Great location and a welcoming vibe, the staff greeted me every time I came and went. Beds and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The common area is small, and most socialising happens in the smoking area, but I still met great people. They host large groups (15+), which can limit interaction. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would return.

Good location & nice hostel, always clean & tidy. However, I did ask to extend my stay for one night (on my first day) and got told it would be 10,000yen for 1 night? Even though I paid 6000yen for 3 nights? Maybe it was because of the cherry blossom season, I just thought it was quite a jump. Other than that, staff great and hostels nice.

I had a great time staying here. The hostel was very clean and it’s in a good location. Close to the subway and right next door to seven eleven. The staff were super friendly especially Arisa and Yuri. Being greeted by these two every morning was very pleasant. 10/10

Great hostel, extended for two nights, super nice and helpful guys at reception, walking distance anywhere in the city, laundry etc.

En general muy buena experiencia. Sólo 2 cosas negativas que mencionar: por un lado, las duchas de la planta 4, solo mujeres, no funcionan al 100%. Hay que esperar o cambiarte de ducha oara tener agua caliente. Y por otro lado,el hostel no es muy social, las organización de la cafeteria y las horas de apertura hace que sea difícil conocer gente. Pero para dormir y salir a explorar la ciudad, ¡es 100% recomendable!

Best place in Osaka, few minutes walking distance from Namba. Safe, clean, good breakfast and friendly staff

less amenities than other hostels, but the staff are very friendly and helped as much as they could :)

Super easy check-in very clean and convenient great location I can’t think of anything negative about my stay and plenty of activities and people around
