A hostel for backpackers, personally not for silver hair, solo traveler like me. A little bit too rough. Half an hour from Nagano.owners very friendly.
It's a bit out of the way from Nagano but it offers you a different experience of seeing Japan. The manager who runs it is nice and friendly and rhe owner offers to drive guests to the station. The washer and dryer are easy to use and cheap. It's a traditional place and some of the doors take a while to find. I visited in mid-April and temperatures at night get cold. There's a heater inside the room. The rooms are gender separated, and privacy inside is limited. A nice stay.

- The house is over 100years old, very loud and has more a flair of a hostel, the rooms are very cold, not very comfortable
+ Beatiful tradditional Japanese room and a warm bed.
- There is only one bathroom. It would be better to have separate bathrooms designated for men and women.
+ Very nice staff with very good command of English. Feels very safe and welcoming for backpackers.
- Walls made of paper allow all noise and light to pass.

+ Loved the quiet location and the interior
- It being an old house you can hear everything outside of your room, but hosts warned of this and provided ear plugs.

- 今回は山旅の為に泊まりました。山旅の宿は基本、早寝早起き、通常の生活からするとびっくりされる時間に寝て、朝暗い内から起きて行動します。その点で今回のニーズには少し合いませんでした。
+ 対応が気さくで親切で気持ちよく滞在できた。
- 全体にもう少しだけ、清掃に配慮されていれば最高。
+ スタッフの方が優しい。値段設定は妥当。

+ The staff were incredibly welcoming and helped me learn some Japanese. The room was really lovely, and there was an electric blanket which was so helpful as it was February and it was very cold.
- There's only one shower and the hair dryer is kept in the shower room too, so timing could sometimes be difficult when getting ready.

+ 歷史悠久的「藏」，住起來有種回到外婆家的感覺，很有風情。工作人員非常熱心，幫忙介紹很多餐廳和景點。衛浴雖然是共用的，但相當乾淨，空間也很寬敞，使用起來很舒適。這次住的是private的房型，後面面向庭院，早上陽光灑進來感覺很療癒。
- 沒有特別不滿意，不過相比照片實際環境比較有歷史感，但我認為住幾天並不影響。

+ シャワーしか無い宿ですが、清潔感のあるシャワー室で シャンプー・コンディショナー、ボディソープ完備されております。 またドライヤーも置いてあります。 またキッチンに、フリーコーヒー、紅茶、ほうじ茶あります。 調味料や調理器具も一通り揃っているので、長期滞在の方にもおすすめです。 受付近くのラウンジ（リビング）も、快適な感じの場所でした。

La casa es hermosa y Rio un genio, super amable
The house is beautiful and Rio is a genius, super friendly.
Couldnt wish for a better stay. This is a real HOSTel. Hospitality 10/10!! They even brought us by car to a local hotspring and the station. Only bit far from center, but it is 100% worth it
