- Everything was dirty, bad smell, 🤢🤮
- The room was very dirty, the hotel itself was full of clutter everywhere, it was very smelly everywhere in the hotel. The bathrooms are very very dirty. had worst experience ever. had to leave the hotel just after reached there.

- Everything. How this can honestly be used as an accommodation house blows my mind. This was truly the worst accommodation I have ever seen. I did not stay here as I did not feel safe and the place was disgusting. I paid to stay elsewhere. There were what appeared to be permanent residents chopping a mix outside their rooms and then smoking weed with no regard for anyone else. On a walk through the main building, the shared kitchen and bathroom were filthy, floors and walls were also grotty
+ If your into cockroach races and showering in bong water, this is a the place for you
- The place is just filth, how a company like yours can this on your bookings is beyond me

- Many of the staff bragged about their organised crime Rebels associations. Lots of them sold drugs and threatened violence. Long term guests acted like they own the place. Do not stay here incredibly unsafe. All staff are now under investigation by the AFP

- We booked a 4p room and were instead appointed another room. When asking for a refund they told us we would be getting one but then they ended up ghosting us. Heard some bad experienced from other friends who did stay there as well. Definitely would not recommend

- So much noise. There was a curfew hour of 9 or 10pm but we had “guests” arguing and shouting and yelling until 4:15am. Absolutely no point in having rules if they’re not enforced, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you need to sleep!
+ The operators of the pickled frog bury all their negative reviews, CHOOSE ELSEWHERE TO STAY IN HOBART!! The pickled frog refused my 18 year old female child accommodation on arrival because she was Australian. (!!!!!)Nowhere on their website indicates this though I understand they let the local homeless stay there. They threw my 18 year old out on the streets of an unfamiliar town, dishonoured our booking then made a fraudulent charge on my card!!!! When challenged about their attempted theft they blocked me and threatened police! Still waiting for that call Amanda of the pickled frog! Bookings.com no help, automated response, please save yourself the headache of dealing with the pickled frog, liars and scammers, DO NOT GIVE THEM ACCESS TO YOUR BANKING!!!!! THIEVES AND LIARS!!! AVOID!!!
- There is NOTHING stated on booking.com that these SCAMMERS " do not book Australians" WHICH IS WHAT MY 18 YEAR OLD WAS TOLD ON ARRIVAL!!!!!!!!. DESPITE SPEAKING TO AMANDA WITH AN AUSTRALIAN ACCENT PRIOR TO BOOKING A FURTHER 2 NIGHTS!!! DESPITE PAYING IN ADVANCE SCAMMERS!!!! AVOID!!!!!!!!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. The environment was really welcoming & friendly. A great atmosphere, and many different 'spaces' to chill- Outside seating, bar & reception sofas, dining tables & 'booths', pool table & sofas, & TV room with couches. Everything about this hostel just worked, it was set up and managed extremely well. The dorms were spacious with comfortable beds & thick linen provided. Storage facilities & security. Large communal kitchen. Amazing helpful staff.
The hostel with the best vibe and atmosphere I’ve ever stayed in, with plenty of evening activities, lots of communal spaces, and brilliant staff. One slight downside: clearly not enough space in the kitchen, either for guests or for storing our food. And the fridges don’t seem to be in the best condition (my food went off just as quickly as if I hadn’t put it in the fridge).

This hostel is for the seasoned traveller who doesn’t care about cleanliness or hygiene. The sheets I and my sister received were stained with unknowable substances and the whole property had an overall putrid stank. Neither of us could sleep during our stay through the smell or the roommate who snored like a broken road train. A lot of effort seems to go into their social events and attempts to have a social vibe. If only more effort was put into the upkeep and cleanliness of the place.
+ Close to the Main Street. Just for sleeping then the share room will be great, but not with big luggage.
- The sound proofing isn’t good, will hear the sounds from downstairs if you live at the room around the stairs.
+ Friendly staff, great atmosphere, welcoming, fun
Terrible laundry, sick people everywhere in the hostel… Even though the staff clean the common areas (kitchen, sofa, etc.) regularly, it’s still super dirty. Food left out with name tags still gets stolen by others. What a terrible experience. NEVER AGAIN.

- The 1 night cost was only just fair it is predominately a back packer's affordable accommodation and thats just fine but for a 1 night double bedroom charge rate with very limited room facilities was a bit rich.
