Star Hostel Taichung Parklane

This hostel is 99% awesome. The 1% is the major lack of a hostel vibe. They have the common area set up to be isolated and the glass walls are cute but not conducive for meeting other travelers. It’s a 5 star hostel in facilities and a 1 star on energy. The staff is very nice, just not interested in helping you navigate the hostel or the city. Breakfast is delicious, just get there before 9:30, even if they tell you 10 when you check in. Great views and clean, I’d definitely stay again.

ok place, nice beds, has curtains, very good breakfast, although it has some places to mingle, no real social vibe, mixture of locals and foreigners. don't give towels, but can rent one for 30td which is below most other places

Wow! Wie ein Hotel. Sehr bequem. Social vibe eigentlich nicht vorhanden, am besten beim Check in direkt Leute anquatschen. Location ist okay leider geht meist alles von Old Town Nähe der großen Station los (Sun Moon Lake etc.)

Pretty good stay. Staff was nice, Mr. Chang especially. The place was clean and nice. Having the lockers outside the dorm room is fantastic. No atmosphere and quite expensive are my only issues. Wouldn't stay here again unless the price went down. There's cheaper places with no atmosphere.

The view, boutique vibes, cleanliness and facilities set the bar for this hostel extremely high. However the staff weren't particularly engaging and the atmosphere wasn't social at all. I felt it was one of those spots that cares about a pristine image over warm hospitality. I'd stay again but wouldn't rely on this place for suggestions on what to do, or socialising.

Good location, good vibes, plain breakfast, no view in twin bed room. Overall is good. I like the view from star cafe.

Such a nice hostel, but be aware it is not a social hostel at all. The room and bathroom are very clean. You have an amazing view of Taichung from the common area. The breakfast is quite nice as well :)

This place was great. The facilities were convenient and comfortable. Breakfast was great if a little complicated. Comfortable areas to hang out and relax. Staff is friendly. My first night I was wore from travel and my blood sugar was so low my hands were shaking. The receptionist literally took over and did everything for me (you check in with your phone and I couldn’t even use my phone).It is across the street from a people’s square where a jazz festival was going on the whole time I was ...

Amazing Experience

This hostel is on another level (and not only because it's literally on the roof with a stunning view)! Everything exceeded expectations and I've been recommending it to all my friends heading to Taichung. It's incredibly comfortable, beautiful, clean, and ideally located in the heart of the city. Simply a stunning hostel. I'd like to thank the staff and in particular Cara for helping me sort out some of my trip logistics! Amazing place!

One of the best hostels I ever stayed at! It's not a typical hostel vibe which made it hard to meet people. But if you're fine with having some me-time (or you can use the hostelworld chat which I did), it's such a lovely place. The breakfast is amazing & sometimes they have even free food in the evening! I'd always come back!

It’s located on top of a shopping mall so the view is great. Breakfast is included. It’s the best hostel I’ve ever stayed. Feels like a hotel. Common areas are so nice and you can meet many people and locals. They also have a cafeteria on the terrace and the rooms are downstairs. The rooms are amazing and super clean, same for the bathrooms.

Amazing hostel. Extremely clean, comfortable beds, and amazing common areas. You can even use the gym on floor below for free.

Very clean, very comfortable beds and greatly organized. The view from the 15th floor is stunning. The lockers are infront of your room in an entrance room, so you dont wake up any people while roaming your bag. Sadly, It is not a social hostel and for breakfast they have a fixed menu of one dish per day. If you dont like it, there is unlimited toast with a few different spreads like jam or chocolate on the side.

This was one of the best hostels I’ve ever been! Very friendly staff, very good breakfast, very good location, nice and comfortable beds. Especially the concept with divided locker rooms is a really good idea! I visited the science museum and the art museum from there, both can be reached by YouBike or by walk. Did I already mention the view from the 15th floor? Great! Highly recommended! If I ever come back to Taichung I‘ll stay at Star Hostel Taichung Parklane!

Absolument parfait en tout point ! Propre, calme, bien placé. Le petit-déjeuner est excellent. Privilégiez cette auberge à une autre moins chère qui sera probablement davantage excentrée

Gorgeous hostel in a great location, but no atmosphere whatsoever. Wouldn't recommend for a solo traveler unless you're okay with absolute minimal social interaction. Clean, great location, with a cozy common room overlooking the city. Staff were kind but not overly helpful and struggled to answer some questions I had about my booking -- not sure if it was due to the language barrier or not.

Probably one of the best hostel I’ve ever stayed. Better than most hotels actually. Great view of the city from the top of the building. Definitely would stay here over any hotel.
