+ Great staff and location

+ No me gustó nada de este hostel. Tuve que irme el segundo día porque no encontré nada para un día antes, teniendo reservado 10 días, perdiendo completamente todo mi dinero puesto que no me lo devolvieron. No vayan a este hostel, tiene una buena puntuación pero no es la realidad.

- Está todo muy muy muy sucio, la cama estaba rota, tenía el aire acondicionado encima de mí prácticamente dándome frío durante toda la noche. El baño no es el que anuncia cuando rentas el alojamiento, es otro baño que tiene la cortina rota, el desagüe lleno de pelos, todo el baño prácticamente con mucha suciedad donde no puedes poner ni un pie en el suelo. La puerta de mi habitación estaba rota y pues siempre está abierta y se oye todo, no hay normas de a una hora establecida acaba el ruido, por lo que vas a dormir con mucho ruido y no puedes descansar. Al estar la puerta rota y siempre abierta entra el olor de la comida que están cocinando continuamente y es muy molesto. El personal tampoco es amable. Las zonas comunes están muy sucias también, y el olor de la habitación es horrible, huele a suciedad. La toalla la tienes que alquilar, no te la prestan. Como puntuación no le pondría ni un 1. Tuve que irme el día 2 porque no encontré antes nada y perdí mi dinero de toda la reserva. Como recomendación no vayan a este lugar si quieres descansar, tener una estancia tranquila y estar en un lugar acogedor y limpio, no es el lugar para eso.

- Fiz a reserva pelo app para meu esposo, ele não gostou de nada , local desconfortável, higiene não existe um espaço com 60 camas beliche, horrível diz ele me senti um presidiário , apenas um banheiro onde forma fila para uso , privada entupida cerâmicas quebrada enfim horrível , achei que iria descansar sai mais cansado 😫😫

- The private room is a “Chalé” and it seems brand new and has a nice decor, but it doesn’t match the rest of the hostel, it’s in the middle of the yard, where everyone hangs out and make parties. They put a catfish picture of the room, and a nomadic vibe, but the people there didn’t match this vibe. Honestly the dirtiest hostel I’ve been to. phlegm everywhere in the bathrooms, pee on the toilet seat, the kitchen was a mess after a party they had on the second night we were there. There were 7 volunteers working there and only 2 of them were friendly, but zero preparation. They didn’t explain the basics, we had to ask things all the time. And the manager was not very helpful. Very disappointing! And it’s not the cheapest hostel, so I was very frustrated.

- We made the booking on the day as we could not get to another booking on the island due to the floods. We arrived around 9pm and were told the room would be ready in an hour as they had to dry the bedding to make up the room. This was not finished by 1am and we eventually had to ask for the room despite a lack of pillowcases. The room was wet and I woke up in the night with the roof leaking onto my head. I was told in the morning they would contact be about a refund which never happened, when I reached out they told me they could not give me one as it was not their fault...

- Es una estafa básicamente. Reservamos una habitación privada y nos dieron un cuarto al fondo del pasillo que olía horrible, con humedad insoportable, un lugar insalubre, sin ventilación. El personal no es amable y una de las duchas decía “no usar porque da la electricidad”.

+ A infraestrutura COM EXCESSAO DOS QUARTOS são lindas.

- Eu reservei um quarto feminino mas cheguei no momento do check in e falaram que a reserva era de um quarto misto. Falei que não me sentia confortável em dormir lá sozinha com homens e pedi pra moça ver se tinha a possibilidade de eu trocar para o quarto que eu paguei. Ela disse que ia ver mas infelizmente não tive mais resposta e tive que dormir no quarto misto.

- Racism. Unprofessional. Rude. Was asked to leave for no reason due to my own but because of certain opinions others have of me. Disrespectful abusive staff continue to work for this and partner hostels.

+ Spacious even the kitchen is very small but alright

- It has a garden but not enough seats inside

+ Okay location, decent working space with reliable wifi.

- The place is quite run-down. The A/C only worked at night and was extremely loud, positioned right next to my head. There was a bucket underneath to catch the dripping water, so all night I kept hearing the constant roar of the A/C and non-stop water dripping into the bucket. I usually choose hostels that have privacy curtains (and this one does - hooray!). However, my bed had only one curtain out of four, the other three were missing. It’s a small thing to fix, but details like that say a lot about how much care is put into the place. Due to things happening these days, my plans changed and I was able to arrive only two days later. I checked in advance that the hostel wasn’t fully booked (it wasn’t) and requested to shift my stay by two days. In other places, this has always been possible as long as they’re not losing money on a last bed. Here, I just got a template answer that it was too late and nothing could be changed. Yes, they are within their rights, but just know that if you have any issues with your booking, this is one of those places that is probably not going to help you. And lastly, a note to management: please pay your staff better so they don’t need to steal food from guests’ fridges. I had an expensive yogurt (around 10 EUR) disappear one evening. The next morning, I noticed a similar yogurt container half-eaten in the staff fridge. When I opened it to check, a staff members saw me and said: Staff: "Sorry, this is a staff fridge." Me: "Yes, I know, but my food somehow ended up here." (silence) Me: "I left it full in the guest fridge, and now it’s half-eaten here." (talks between in Portuguese) Staff: "We thought that you left." That was it - no apology, nothing. It’s hard to believe the "we thought you left" excuse, especially since my things were still in the closet and on the bed.

+ One of those places where you arrive not knowing anyone and leave with new friends. Relaxed during the day, more social in the evening. Simple facilities but everything works and is clean. Great value overall.

+ Good energy, clean rooms and great people. Would definitely stay again.

+ It felt like home really quickly. The staff are genuinely friendly, not just “hostel friendly”. The common areas make it easy to hang out and connect, but it’s not noisy when you want to rest.
