My stay at Hotel Italia in Munich was very disappointing. The accommodation was far from what I expected. The hallways constantly smelled of cigarettes, which was unpleasant and left me with a blocked nose that might be due to the smoke. On top of that, it was nearly impossible to sleep because loud music played all night long until around 7 a.m. The overall atmosphere felt careless and uncomfortable, and it did not provide the basic rest and comfort a guest should expect. I would not recommend
While the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was clean and covered the basics, I found the neighborhood to be very sketchy and that was enough to make me hesitant to stay here again as a solo female traveler. Didn't help that you could just walk into the place; when I arrived there was no one at the front desk & I stood there for a few minutes before someone came in from outside, making it feel not very secure. Also, the bed was WAY too soft, it almost felt like a waterbed.
The Hotel Italia in Munich, Schillerstraße, is a simple hotel, clean and with an extensive breakfast buffet. Every morning the buffet is set up somewhat varied and the choice of Müsli, Fruit, Brötchen as well as cheese and cutlery is really good. The best we liked was the coffee machine. The location and price of this hotel are almost unbeatable. Only 5 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof and 8 minutes to the Stachus. Only the bass of a dance bar is ringing through the walls.
