Meo Vac O'chau

+ Die Familie war wirklich liebevoll und hilfsbereit. Obwohl wir nicht im Vorfeld das Abendessen bestellt hatten, haben sie uns gebratenen Reis gezaubert, der wirklich sehr lecker war. Es gab Handtücher und Shampoo sowie Duschgel.

- Die Wände unseres Zimmers waren papierähnlich, sodass wir unsere Zimmernachbarn als sie um 22:30 Uhr nach Hause kamen gehört haben. Und wir haben alles gehört, das Husten, das Schnarchen, das zur Toilettegehen… das Homestay liegt in einem angelegten Dorf, in dem bis kurz nach 22:00 Uhr lautstark Karaoke gesungen und getrunken wird. Das sollte man wissen, wenn man dort übernachten oder in den anderen Homestays in diesem Dorf.

- was located in a “fake village” with loud karaoke in the evening through to the night. The ceiling was falling apart and we could hear constant buzzing from the electrics. No bedside tables so had to use the kettle with an extension cable on the floor. Did not feel good value for money

- Erste Nacht war Samstag auf Sonntag. Musik laut und viele feiernde Jugendliche. Ab 22:00 war dann Ruhe. Zweite Nacht war es dann ruhiger. Frühstück sehr minimalistisch.

+ Établissement familial au sein d'un complexe de plusieurs hôtels. Endroit calme car en retrait de la route.. Dîner copieux et bon. Lit confortable.

- Salle d'eau en mauvais état, lunette wc cassée. Ménage pas fait depuis longtemps sous les lits.

+ We were welcomed very warmly and, even though it was cold, we were kept warm and cozy!

- Note that the compound consist of multiple hotels. Some of the hotels host karaoke parties in the evening with very loud music (we had some issues having a normal conversation in our room). The music stops promptly at 10 PM but some singing might continue somewhat later. We had no issues with this but if you are a light sleeper this might pose some issues.

+ The manager Penny was lovely, speaks very good English and made us very welcome. She also ensured we had some amazing vegetarian food.

- The accomodation could do with sprucing up a little

+ It was very comfortable, and a nice view. The owner was super nice and we had a long chat during breakfast. But the village itself is a show village and not really authentic. It is very touristy.

+ The breakfast options are limited, but you can ask the host to fry sticky rice for breakfast, which is quite nice. Delicious dinner, very welcoming host, an amazing home corn wine. The host’s young son was a lovely and interesting little host.
