Hanoi City Backpackers Hostel

Overall it was fine, for sure overpriced compared to what else you can get in Hanoi and not the same as the photos at all. Room looked way nicer in photos, towels and bedding not included. The laundry was great though smelt amazing and the staff were nice !

We had an unimpressive stay right from the first moment. Our airport pickup took us to the hostel who then told us their private rooms are in a hotel instead. The hotel was really run-down and room covered in mould (bathroom, walls, aircon). The staff at both the hostel & hotel seemed completely uninterested & didn’t offer any information. We booked a private room in a hostel to have the hostel vibes and meet other people and have good info about tours. They need to tell ppl

my partner and I were placed at the lavender hotel which we were not told upon booking. Which was fine, but the room had black mold in the shower and room. The staff was the only pleasant situation of this, as well as my partner got food poisoning from the PHO in the morning, which is super gross.

The private room wasn’t even at the hostel. It was down the street at another hotel

Possibly the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed at (was very cheap). Bad vibe, horrible toilets, bed sheets were dirty and covered in brown and black marks, only hostel I’ve ever felt slightly unsafe in due to the vibe and when I came into the room there was a guy on my bed eating potato chips and playing cards... wtf! Overall very bad experience 👎👎

So unhygienic, the “blanket” consisted of an old doona cover (no DOONA) that had termite or bug holes throughout it, I asked for a new one and it was the exact same. The actual doona laid in the cupboard covered in yellow stains. 17 euro for this private room and i definitely wasn’t impressed it would have been cheaper for me to book a clean hotel room

Det var okay. Placering var god. Der hvor man spiser morgenmad og kommer ind lugter en del af tis. Værelserne er okay, men hele værelset kan høre når man er på toilet.

The hostel is not in a good condition and I saw some cockroaches inside the room. It needs an option to only female room.

Worst experience. The bathroom smelled of vomit and was covered in cigarette ash. Mattresses are rock hard, woke up with sore back and ribs. When at 2am we complained to staff at reception about a roommate who was playing his show out loud and talking to himself and coughing extremely loud ALL night and smoking in room, we were shouted at by the staff, told we could not move rooms and we should expect noise in a hostel. Very upsetting experience. We left next day. No social vibes. Dark & dingy.

I booked a private and was excited to meet other solo travellers. However upon arrival I was taken two blocks away to a hotel. The Backpackers does not have privates. Then I was put in a room under the kitchen so got no sleep as walls were paper thin as they were banging until late and very early. Really pi*sed off and warm people to not stay here. What a sc*m. I was bored for two days as I couldn’t bond with fellow travellers as planned.

Mai and Tea were very good. Highly recommend ha Giang trip.

very good hostel, friendly staff and all you need in terms of accomodation ☺️ breakfast is good as well! atmosphere is chill and you can get to know fellow travellers in common breakfast area.

Everyone was really nice. Lady at reception helped me find a pharmacy. I really enjoyed my stay here and do recommend.

Room was very dirty/basic, had bugs, and staff were pressuring us to get the shuttle which was more expensive than a grab.

I feel like it may have been Hanoi itself mainly but my whole stay was so hectic I couldn't really review it any higher. I think there are better options in Hanoi to stay at

Mai é stata davvero disponibile. Mi ha organizzato tutto il tour per vedere più cose possibili durante la mia istanza qui in Hanoi. L’ostello organizza Ha Giang Loop, Ninh Bin e Ha Long Bay daily tour, oltre a organizzare i bus notturni.

Second time staying here. The location is very convenient, breakfast is simple but good. The bathroom isn't the best but the rest of the room is ok .The only downside is the amount of stairs to climb, which isn't ideal when you have big luggage

Not bad to stay for a few days, not a fan of how the rooms are organised and the curtains that don’t close themselves. Breakfast very simple but good!

Bathroom super dirty, shower leaked because it was clocked because it hadn’t been cleaned in so long, it leaked out of the bathroom because it one of those showers where the whole bathroom is a wet room, ended up going down the stairs and under the bunkbeds. (This was when my friend was in the shower not me) the staff were quite annoyed at us/passive aggressive when we complained about it even though we did nothing wrong the shower was turned off the second we realised it was leaking.

Nothing much to complain about. It serves its role as a good hostel which proves a quiet environment for relaxation and sleep. The bed was comfy. Free breakfast is good. Only wished that there was some sunlight coming into the room I was staying in.

Not social at all, staff is friendly, breakfast is okay (2 slices of toast + egg or butter and jam, 2 bananas, coffee or tea), beds are comfy with light/little shelf & locker/socket, locker under bed, free drinking water, nice location, bookshelf.

Overall fine for only one night, the rooms don’t really look like the pictures and the bathroom was in the room which can be very noisy if you have loud roomates. Very well located in the heart of the old center.

Everything was good . Highly recommend. Very convenient location.

Wir haben uns ein privaten Raum gemietet und wurden beim ankommen direkt in ein dazugehöriges Hotel gefahren, welches nur eine Straße entfernt lag. Wir fanden das Hotel sogar noch besser, weil es dort extrem ruhig war und man einfach mehr Privatsphäre hatte. Das Frühstück dort war auch super und die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich.
