+ Convenient location

- I stayed in room 107 and found a big cockroach in my bed. When I told the night manager, he showed no empathy and said that cockroaches in the building are just a normal thing there. He even asked if I wanted to try to catch it myself before he finally came and killed it. His attitude was very unprofessional. There was no air conditioning or fan in the room. He told me to keep the windows closed to avoid more insects, but that made the room extremely hot. I was not given clean sheets, and later I noticed what looked like cockroach skin or parts on the bed, which was disgusting. At checkout, I spoke with the manager, but his behaviour also lacked courtesy and confirmed that cockroaches are common in the property. I eventually received a refund, but I was very disappointed with how everything was handled. Even for a hostel, basic cleanliness and respectful service should be expected. Unfortunately, this was not my experience.

+ would like to report that my stay was a bad experience. There was a lot of noise, the beds were too soft, and the room was extremely hot. I had to look for another place to stay. We asked for assistance and to be moved to another room, but it was impossible.

- No A/C on the rooms, messy rooms, I think that they don’t have room housekeeping, the mattress were horrible.

+ L’emplacement est très bien pour visiter la ville à pied. Pour les gens qui aiment sociabiliser, beaucoup d’événements organisés.

- Payer 460 euros (750 dollars) pour ce service est une honte. Je ne vois pas comment la note générale de l’auberge est de 7,2. Les sanitaires sont vieux et sont constamment sales (1toilette pour tout l’étage pour les hommes). C’est très souvent fermé car « cleaning in progress » mais c’est quand même toujours dégoûtant (cf photo de la douche après avoir attendu 20minutes car c’était en cours de nettoyage). Il y a beaucoup trop de monde pour une si petite cuisine. L’odeur générale de l’auberge est atroce. Les moquettes au sol sont sales, pas étonnant que la chambre soit remplie de cafards. Les équipes disent prendre ce problème au sérieux mais ils mettent simplement un coup d’insecticide, ils ne font rien d’autre à part empocher l’argent des clients. Pourquoi s’embêter à résoudre le problème alors que l’auberge est déjà pleine ? Les cafards sont non seulement dans les chambres mais également dans la cuisine, ils se baladent dans la nourriture de tout le monde ça ne donne vraiment pas envie de cuisiner ! Beaucoup de staffs pour une qualité de service vraiment médiocre. C’est juste une auberge pour les fêtards crasseux.

- night porter would not answer the phone when we arrived called several times. finally we got access and found a member of staff call Patrick who complained that he wasn’t on shift. It was only 9pm, we had a minor issue with the fan in the room. I rang for assistance and could hear the phone ringing again nobody answered. I left a voice note and nobody responded eventually we resolved the issue ourselves. when leaving we asked about the easiest way to get to the airport and once again the staff had no information. I understand it is a hostel but basic costumer service was lacking. I strongly suggest retraining your cleaning staff as nothing was clean.

- Dirty room, have not been hoovered and deep cleaned for a while. Rats on the roof terrace and cockroaches in the room. There were dead ones at the reception that nobody cleaned up during our 3 day stay. The clean linen was left on the dirty floor next to the cockroach actually. Bathroom floor and tiles dirty and smelly Carpet inside the room has a bad odour. Staff is not friendly.

+ Great location

- Most residents appear to be living there full time and partying heavily, which leads to a flatmating ambiance bordering on a frat house. Staff offers unofficial perks to the long term residents they befriended like free laundry but not to regular guests which feels quite unprofessional. People listen to music loud and you hear people talking/doors slamming all night long on weekends. Really not somewhere relaxing to mind your own business at. Oh and the mattresses are horribly thin.

+ This is the only place I stay at when I’m in Sydney. The atmosphere is unmatched. You walk in and you instantly feel like you’re at home.

+ Affordable option in an expensive city. Free meal one evening was a nice surprise.

- Kitchen too small for amount of guests. Wifi was not working the last 12+ hours of our stay.

+ Quite and peaceful in my room with roomates, the showers were always available when I was ready to shower, the staff were understanding and appreciative, other guest in my room were friendly

- Just the noise of the party life outside couldn't sleep until it was quiet

+ El lugar es muy bonito, los eventos son geniales para poder conocer mas gente, el baño siempre estaba limpio y la terraza estaba muy bonita

- El espacio entre camas y en la pieza es muy pequeño para desarmar la valija de uno por vez porque sino no entra. El baño tiene un espacio reducido y si no te acomodas bien mojas las cosas. La cocina en horario pico se llena.
