Getting to the lodge takes about an hour by 4x4 vehicle from the center of Ceiba, don't arrive at night as it can be dangerous. The facilities look old and some parts are abandoned. The place offers a "walking tour" but it is not safe cero, they don't give you information about what to wear and the walk can be dangerous in some parts as you climb rocks or climb paths on cliffs. The food was bad and for the price it is not worth it, skip this part of Honduras it is expensive for no reason
Staff are wonderful but things to eat and drink are expensive and with no kitchen, no way to save money. Even if perhaps they allowed you to make your own breakfast/lunch it would make this place more appealing to budget backpackers. Staff and guides are GREAT and have a lot of knowledge of the area. Wifi didnt reach our bedroom and only one hammock on deck which was often fought over. Loved the jumping into the river and the hike to the waterfall was nice but you cant swim. Very cute dogs!
Beautiful location for a hostel, the views are incredible. Reasonably clean and the staff were great. River rafting was intense but a lot of fun. There are lots of places to swim nearby and a few spots to cliff jump too. Beds are pretty comfy but there’s not much privacy in the dorms. Food (dinner especially) is very overpriced and you can easily rack up a large tab as you’re only option is the hostel. No Wifi in the rooms so could use more comfy seating in the bar area or an extra hammock.
Amazing location in the heart of the Jungle! The pools overlooking the river are to die for. Friendly staff and good food.
Amazing spot right by the river and the rafting is excellent. There isn’t a kitchen and prices are high for what you get both for the dorms and food. Staff are very welcoming and super helpful
Nice location with a great view over the river. I did the jungle hike and the rafting with them and the tours were great. However, they want to make money with everything - they will charge you for water refills and they accidentally put us in the wrong room and wanted to charge us the difference. Same with food. The food is delicious though.
The location is unbeatable, the terrace has amazing views of the mountains, the rainforest and the river. You can jump in the river only 10 meters from the lodge or relax in the natural pools. The river rafting experience was super fun and for only $35 it’s really great value. The problem for me was the lack of other guests, and therefore the atmosphere was not great. I am a solo traveller and I was hoping to meet other backpackers and go on lots of adventures during my stay. On one day I was ...
The hostel has the potential to be amazing, but at the moment it seems a little run down. There are obviously few places nearby to eat, but meals at the hostel are really expensive, and you have to wait at least 30 minutes even if you're the only one ordering anything. They charge for water refills too, which no other hostel has done in the whole of Central America. My bed sheets were ripped and had holes all over. However the owners are lovely, and the location is stunning! A work in progress!
The location is everything here, right at the river with amazing views. Unfortunately, in my opinion, very overpriced. The dorms are not that nice, the Wi-Fi doesn’t work in the rooms, the food is nice but really expensive. They charge for water refills. When I was there the water was gone for like the entire stay, and they still charged full price and for the water refills.
The riverrafting tour they offer is 3/4 canyoning jumping off rocks and stuff, they don't tell you that ahead. They dont have a kitchen you can use and the lunch selection is okay while at dinner they only offer 1 option which I think is ridiculous. A little bit of a walk away though omega tours have super delicious food and a great menu!

Stunning place with gorgeous scenery, location is really one of the best I ever visited around the world. The host is very lovely and saved our day by jump-starting our rental car 😝 all round an amazing experience, 10/10
Amazing stay here! Cathy, the owner, is so kind and helpful. Their taxi driver Alberto is super helpful to get to/from La Cieba. Very close to the waterfall. Family dinners are a great way to meet people. Such a nice place to chill, swim in the river, jump off the rocks, and unwind (or go rafting! Super fun!). Dorms have lots of beds together in one room but everyone was very respectful and it was totally fine.
Adored this place, one of the nicest I’ve ever stayed. The setting is totally stunning, really unbeatable and just unique. Immediate access to unspoilt river and jungle, with a delightful lack of tourists. The Lodge meanwhile had a lovely social “family feel” atmosphere, and I met lovely people to go rafting and hiking with. The dorm was very comfortable with plenty of space. Family dinners each evening brought everyone together. Plus, there’s a resident macaw to keep you entertained!
Jungle River Lodge, a lovely Hostel in the Middle of a Jungle, no kitchen, but you Can get food there, the view from the Hostel on the River is insane and you Even have little Pools for swimming, they have a lot of animals (Cats, dogs and a parrot!!!)
Staff is amazing and the hostel is so cool and unique. It’s right on the river, with natural pools and amazing decks and views. The hostel is pretty awesome with large rooms and lots of beds but not crowded at all when I was there in August. Cathy is amazing and has an amazing vision and vibe at Jungle Lodge
Good stay, we were there just for one night.
Posto stupendo, persone meravigliose, attività incredibili. Non potevo chiedere di meglio. È stato un soggiorno meraviglioso. Consigliatissimo!
If your debating going due to the price, it’s 100% worth it. Super easy to get the local bus, stunning location, we loved swimming in the river & pools. The food did feel overpriced - we wished the dinner was just the lunch options instead of one family option. We loved the rafting tour especially the canyoneering part and the guide. Highly recommended.
The location is not the easiest to get to, but really worth it since the view is amazing and you are right next to the river. Staff is really nice and In general I really liked it except for the overpriced food, especially the 10 usd dinner. Also more comfy areas on the bar area would be nice since the wifi dont make it to the dorms.
Really cool experience! Bit more spenny, but worth it for the unique stay. Beautiful location, and easy to get to with the local bus. You have to do the whitewater rafting tour! I’d recommend the family dinner also. Bring ya bug spray
Absolutely loved it. Kathy is an excellent host and really makes you feel at home. Great place to relax and chill in nature
Great spot by the river. Relaxing atmosphere. The owner was very helpful assisting with transport to/from the hostel. Rafting was great fun
Amazing stay! The location is incredible, the pictures don’t lie! Both the jungle hike and the rafting were awesome! There are a couple friendly dogs and a parrot hanging around but not imposingly. Cozy vibe. If the weather is rainy, remember to contact the hostel before to arrange transportation from La Ceiba. There were no taxis going to the hostel when we went, due to recent rain, but they were able to fix a local driver for us for 800 lempiras. Normally there are local buses that are chea...
very nice hostel in the jungle
Lovely place to relax by the river. The rafting tour was such an amazing experience. The staff are very friendly. I totally recommend.
Excellent location, slow food service, slow internet, cute cars, nice river side pools, nice reception staff, good security and cleanliness
Loved the place! A real gem ❤️ PLEASE VISIT!

Such a beautiful location, can’t recommend it enough. The room we stayed in was really nice, basic but cool. Delicious food, but a bit expensive.
