+ The location is the only good thing about it
- The place was neglected; the bathroom in my room had a disgusting yellowish crust. The bed they put me in was right at the entrance to the room, so every time someone came in, the light from the hallway woke me up. The top bunk was very low, and every time someone passed by, all privacy was lost. It was at shoulder height for most people. Not to mention that the bathroom was also right next to it, and every time someone used it, it woke up those of us in that area. My bed had about four different kinds of hair on it, and there was little ventilation in the room.

- Hrup na hodniku. Izjemno majhna soba brez kopalnice. Po celotnem objektu zelo smrdi. Pralnica je ogabna. Ko sem prispel na recepcijo, se receptor ni potrudil in mi ni želel dati sobe niti 5 minut pred dogovorjeno uro, čeprav vem, da je bila soba že pripravljena.

- Room didn't match the photos at all, I was in a jail once even jail was more comfortable than that 9 star hostel, shower and tap didn't had any power to wash, they're trying to save money really hard while charging 60$ per bed frame without even proper bedsheets, disgusting place only good thing was a location. Also room was stinky I discovered it's bcs of indian roommate

- หลังจาก ฉัน เข้า พัก ได้ แค่ 2 ชม . ฉัน โดนแมลงกัด คิดว่าน่าจะเป็น bed bug บริเวณ ที่หน้า แขน ขา และ มือ เกิดตุ่ม แดงคัน มากมาย เลย ได้ ไป แจ้ง ผู้จัดการ โรงแรม แต่ ผุ้จัดการ กลับ บอกว่า เป็น ยุงกัด ฉัน คิดว่า ไม่ จริง ดังนั่น ฉัน เลย ขอ complain ทาง โรงแรม และ ขอ refund การ เข้าพัก ทั้ง 2 คืน แบบ เต็ม จำนวน เพราะ 1. ทำให้ฉัน เกิด การ แพ้ อักเสบ เสียหายต่อ ร่างกาย บวม แดง อันตราย มาก 2. ไม่ได้ รับ ความ สบาย ในการ หลับ พักผ่อน ดัง ที่ ควร ได้ รับ
+ Everything, the location, the price, the facility, the staff, the service provided, the activities offered, and the flexibility, was absolutely wonderful!
- There wasn't anything unpleasant. The only suggestion have is for them to serve some sort of protein for breakfast, such as eggs or something else.
+ Ce sont des voleurs !!!! J’avais payé 3 nuits mais malheureusement mon vol était retardé, ils m’ont envoyé un message à 5h du matin pour me dire que ma réservation était annulée (sachant que dans leur condition il est mis check in sans préciser une heure maximal donc je pouvais très bien me présenter quand je voulais et de toute façon j’avais déjà payé ma chambre, tout ça pour récupérer mon argent et revendre la chambre par derrière !!

Beginnen met de positieve punten. De locatie is geel gunstig, vlakbij het strand, de pier etc in een toch redelijk rustige buurt. De douches zijn proper en er is gratis thee en koffie! De mindere punten, de kamers zijn echt basic en niet heel comfortabel. De airconditioning maakt veel lawaai en er is constant een heel muffe geur. De algemene vibe in het hostel is niet geweldig vind ik. Veel mensen gebruiken het als goedkoop hotel. Er zijn veel ouderen en mensen die je niet in hostels verw...
Really nice hostel in a lovely location. Beautiful private courtyard and great free stand up comedy event. The bed was a bit too soft for me and creaked whenever you moved but overall really nice place.
This was my first hostel experience and I’m glad it was! The hostel felt secure and clean, and the courtyard was a nice place to start the morning. It’s close to everything in Santa Monica. Definitely a wide range of ages which makes it a bit tamer. Would stay again.

Super convenient hostel in the midst on Santa Monica. Check in and check out was extremely smooth and facilities were adequate. Enjoyed my brief stay here. Would recommend to others.
The staff is friendly and the cleaning ladies keep the place as clean as possible. Obviously, if you share your room with others, it won't be the most comfortable experience, but the guests are also nice and civilised. Good experience overall.
Second stay in this hostel and I would definitely recommend. 5min walk to Santa Monica pier. Hotel is clean well maintained Hanna from France
I enjoyed my time staying here. This hostel was in the middle of everything Santa Monica has to offer for such an affordable rate. People are nice and the place itself was pleasant. I will come back if I ever do another trip to Santa Monica again:)

I stayed here for about three nights, and overall, this is a good hostel. The biggest positive by far was the cleanliness. This was probably the cleanest hostel I have stayed in. The rooms and showers were very clean, and there was renovation work going on during my stay, which was actually nice to see. It shows that ownership is putting money back into the property and trying to keep the place updated. The location will probably be a plus for some people because the hostel is in Santa Monica ...
Decent. But it felt more like a cheap hotel than a hostel. Very big and anonymous and only a few activities to which nobody showed up. Not exactly what I expect from a HOSTEL, but if you do not need to socialize it might be perfect for you!
I never leave reviews but I can't believe how awesome this hostel is! This might be the best hostel in the nation. Extremely clean and tidy, impressive kitchen, extremely good location and many social activities! I'll definitely be back!!
Pros: Huge kitchen, great bathrooms with driers, and laundry. Amazing vibe and activities—loved the welcome party! Great sharing/donation policy, plenty of towels, affordable vending machines, and free beach gear. 10/10 facilities! Cons: No bed curtains, so hall lights wake you up. Also, the metal beds have a "zigzag" base that squeaks loudly with any tiny movement. It would have been a 20/20 if the beds were better, but it's still a fantastic stay!
The first Hostel I stayed at a week before downtown was so awful in every way It confirmed my suspicions~as a person who never stayed in a hostel~that hostels suck! Not the case here at HI Santa Monica and I am newly converted. Great atmosphere, brilliant remodeled kitchen, super clean and organized, bathrooms (4th floor at least) that have showers you’re not afraid to catch some unwanted affliction in. Only downside is you can only stay in this particular facility 14 days a year.

I had the best time! It is very clean, the staff is so embracing, the location perfect for quick access to the beach and the perfect LA feeling. Probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in.
