Kantaya Hostel

On the positive side: the manager and the rest of the staff is kind and really helpful! Great breakfast with fresh pancakes or bread. The place is safe (you can only enter if someone of the staff lets you in) and they offer lockers. Apart from that the hostel definitely needs renovation, especially the bathroom only lukewarm. It smelled really bad in the bathroom (even directly after cleaning) and the same smell traveled into the room. Too expensive for what you get.

Partly unfriendly und not welcoming staff, payment with credit card not possible, smelly rooms and bathrooms, kitchen only covers basic equipment. For all of this the place is by far overpriced. Breakfast which is included is ok.

We were only here for one night and I was glad of that. The room was okay, pretty basic but that’s fine. What wasn’t fine were the bogeys on the wall by the bed, absolutely vile!! There were hairs in the bedsheets also. Breakfast was good and the price wasn’t too bad, but overall I definitely would not stay here again.

The location is good and staff is very friendly and helpful (thus only Spanish speaking), but the hostel is clearly ageing / decaying and I found the dorm very oppressing.

Good for what it is. Definitely needs a touch up and more storage space. No lockers in the rooms and the ones they do have located outside are tiny. Puno is also meh I stayed for 4 days really only needed 2.

Lovely breakfast, but the building was freezing, and the beds uncomfortable. No windows (with a view outside the building), which made it quite dark and depressive. Staff was very lovely and helpful, though.

Good location

It’s not a 9.2 hostel. There is nothing wrong with it. It’s very plain. 9.2 oversold it. Location is good, stiff is good, security is good. It’s just very basic. Nothing queue place. Just don’t expect 9.2. Expect 6.5 and you won’t be disappointed

Nice and Big Hostel with games area. central location. Very welcoming place to stay! The owner helped us organise our lake Titicaca, but combined with kayaking (which I felt was one of the better tours we saw). But the tours with GetYourGuide and PeruHopBus were very expensive. I definitely bought it at the hostel for a good price. Stored our luggage before and after the tour. Would definitely stay here again. Good hostel in the center

overall very fun and comfortable. Nice Hostel. the Wi-Fi was quick and the location was perfect for exploring the city. everything was super. free kitchen common areas with free hot drinks. games area (pool table). TIP: My friend bought the tour with PeruHop Bus and GettourGuide; both companies were expensive. But the hostel sells it at a reasonable price and they have departures every day. Je suis arrivée bien malade et toute la famille s’est mobilisée pour m’aider, ils m’ont écouté et proposé d’appeler un médecin si je n’allais pas mieux, des anges. Les parties communes sont propres, la chambre individuelle très confort et il y a de l’eau chaude !

I recommend everyone who is travelling to Puno to stay there. Great staff, they speak English and are very helpful. The hostel is a clean and safe place to stay.

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Really modern, clean and great facilities. Showers are great, hot and have benches in, even a hairdryer. Dorms have lockers and curtains on beds. Breakfast is really good.

If you are ever in Puno I would definitely recommend. The facilities are good, beds comfy and the staff are really helpful. I felt really safe there due to the front door and the bedrooms being locked.

Je me suis directement senti bien au Kantaya Hostel. Le personnel est vraiment accueillant et la pièce commune est idéale pour rencontrer d’autres backpackers/voyageurs. En plus, l’hostel propose plein d’activités dont la visite des îles Amantani et Taquile. Je conseille d’ailleurs de faire l’excursion en kayak et de dormir une nuit sur Amantani. En bref, je recommande vivement !!

Ostello nella media, discreto. Ottimo per passare 1 notte a Puno

All good! It is a simple hostel but has everything you need. The staff is amazing, especially the lady that works in the mornings. Her pancakes are delicious. They also offer tours which is very convenient.

The Staff were really great receptionists that made the stay very pleasant. Location is great and the hostel has everything you need in terms of ammenities. Location is ideal - central but quiet. Will definitely use next time I go to Puno. Tip: This tour sell it at reception DayTour with Kayak, was the best experience nice, easy, and fun. Thank you Kantaya!!!.

Great! Thanks to the staff, they were always very friendly and helpful. they assisted me with my bus to the airport, and I also took a highly recommended tour. (tour fullday lake titicaca with kayak was very easy fun). It's a nice and friendly hostel with pool table

Facilities were nice and kitchen was fully functional. Free breakfast was good! They have sauna facilities but they didn’t open it during my two day stay. Their terrace was six floors up which was kinda tiring especially if you’re trying to acclimate to the altitude, but it was a fully functional gym as well.
