HI Canmore - Alpine Club of Canada

+ Worst management, worst experience.

- Nothing, this place needs management change, we were assigned wrong rooms, wrong room codes were provided. There is no clear sign about parking. Due to rain it was mess in front of the hostel.

- Some guests are noisy and drinking till 1am. The rule is 10pm avoid being noisy. I did not have a good sleep at all. I will not recommend this hostel.

+ Checking in was easy, there was plenty of historical reading material that I thought was great, perhaps a better place/display of all the Alpine Journals would be a nice touch.

- The housekeepers flipped my bed without me asking and took a few items one of which I never got back, a publication that cannot be bought in store so that was frustrating.

- Bed is not comfortable, upper bund is not safe and no light nor charging socket

+ I would definitely stay here again. The views are beautiful. You can cook there. They have like a nook of books if ever you want to read.

- I didn’t like that there was no security measures placed. Any outsiders could come in in the middle of the night. There was a passcode security door at the main door but the passcode number is written just in front. Even after midnight, the passcode is there displayed for anyone to see and enter the premises. :(

+ Good location, kitchen was well stocked, amazing view of the Three Sisters.

- None of the laundry facilities were operational. The toilet/shower facilities were frequently out of operation (one toilet flooded). Soundproofing in rooms was poor, and so it’s very difficult to sleep once the early risers are up and about.

- El primer día cuando llegamos era jueves y estaba todo muy limpio. Viernes y sábado ha sido todo lo contrario. A parte de que la gente es bastante poco cuidadosa la limpieza no era la adecuada para un sitio con tanta afluencia de gente. Las literas… pues no muy cómodas.

+ Coole Aussicht, Aussenbereich war super gemütlich.

- Keine Abfalleimer im Zimmer, sehr ringhörig man hört jeden der am Morgen früher geht.

+ Great location, high value.

+ I really loved this place. The whole hostel has a beautiful wooden interior, which gives it a very cozy and warm atmosphere. It’s also in a very quiet location, with stunning views of the mountains. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need, and I also really liked that you can light a fireplace in the common area, which makes the experience even more special. Overall, Canmore was my favorite place on the trip, and this hostel made the experience even better.

+ Gorgeous location and amazing facilities (kitchen, toilets/showers, balcony with BBQ, plenty of sitting areas and a pool table). Rooms were simple and provided everything you need, and Sean was very helpful with late check in. Amazing value for money.

- While the location might be beautiful, it’s out of town so there’s nothing nearby. Beds were good enough but not particularly comfortable and the smart lock system was slightly annoying.

+ Cadre exceptionnel ! Pour avoir été dans différents hostel à travers plusieurs pays, c’est la première fois, où l’on trouve la cuisine aussi bien équipée ! Le personnel est adorable !

+ Special thanks to Shawn who was very welcoming and caring throughout my stay. All personnel was extremely helpful and warm, gave recommandations, super friendly and fun to chat with. I highly recommend the hostel :)

+ I love everything, the location, the bed, the view, the service. Easy check in process, we love the cabin and the bed is very comfy. The kitchenette is a plus! We woke up with the best view of three sisters!

+ This place is really nice, all the common areas are super spacious and well laid out. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

- The rooms are on the small side which can be crowded when all beds are occupied. Also not clear of having or enforcing a sick policy, we got a roommate who was very sick and was coughing all night.

+ Beautiful view, great lobby area for relaxing, and a convenient, well-equipped kitchen.

- At the reception we were given a room code that didn’t work. We had a late check-in, and by the time we realised the code wasn’t working, the reception was already closed. We had to spend a long time resolving this issue over the phone. The rooms are very cramped — in one room, six strangers have to sleep in bunk beds that are connected to each other, which makes it uncomfortable. It feels almost like sharing one bed with people you don’t know.
