I have been travelling for a year and have never left a negative review. This place deserves it. Owner tried making me pay more that what advertised on HW. Then gave me a “discount” to make the price similar - still a bit more. Had to pay cash, asked him if I should change, no reply online, so I didn’t I go back, I pay in dollars. Gives me a bad rate AND also keeps some money “as a tip” and “for you 1 dollar doesn’t change anything”. Then made a whole fuss about me being the wors...
We arrived 3 hours after the supposed check in time, to be told we had to wait an additional hour before we could check in to our room. The place smelt like cigarettes and had a very dirty feel - I’d avoid if you can!
When I arrived on the 1st of January, there was no one there. I called the hostel on WhatsApp three times, and no one answered. I had to book another hostel. DO NOT GO HERE
We arrived after four days of trekking and booked a private room to finally shower, but the place was so dirty we didn’t even use it. The carpets were torn and stained, and there were dead flies in the room, so we slept in our own sleeping bags. The manager pretends to “discount” the normal website price and pressures guests to leave high ratings — so don’t trust the reviews. The place badly needs cleaning and renovation.
U cant paid with card. The room its unbelievable, very very dirty. Sheet not changed, and I found toothpicks and nails on the blankets. It Was unreal. The kitchen also very dirty.
I have never been treated as poorly as I was by anyone before let alone a member of staff. Chris (owner/manager) returned home drunk at 6:30am and yelled at me to the point I walked out in tears. I had followed all instructions and was in no way at fault. He then continued to send me abusive messages via text. No one should be treated that way particularly a guest. He treats his staff poorly and his guests.
This is the Hostel version of the TV show Samford and Son meets a Favela. A tin shack ready to fall down. I am surprised the Big Bad Wolf has not come by and blown this place down yet. This place needs to get some big and strong cats that can catch the rats that are running around this place. I am not particular, but this has been the worst place I have stayed in.
I don’t usually leave bad reviews but this hostel is currently unsuitable for staying in. The room was not clean and the carpet was worn to the floorboards in several places. Our bathroom had grass growing through the floor tiles, and the toilet flush was a cork on a piece of string. There was no soap, and the communal bathroom did not have a sink at all. The owner allowed us to move to a different hostel as long as we paid the difference, which was appreciated.
Had a reservation for two at Patagonia House. As I arrive to check in, a “gentleman” told me he was booked and it was impossible for my friend and I to stay there. He left us stranded in an unknown city more than 10,000 kilometers from home while in was snowing. Just terrible!!!

Nice and clean hostel, near from the downtown , nice staff !!
I had an amazingexperience staying in this hostel! The location is perfect, has everything a traveler needs, very clean and has this thing that makes a hostel great - a soul! Very helpful and warm staff as well, makes you feel like home. definitely recommend!
I stayed in the 6 bedroom and it was very spacious. Plenty of room for everyone's stuff. The mattress was thick and comfy. There's lockers in the room. The only issue I have is having only 2 bathrooms for everyone to use. Cristian was very welcoming and sociable. If you have any questions about tours and things to do in the city, he will help you out with that. I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 night stay.

Lovely stay! Friendly host & great location
Stayed at this hostel for 4 nights. We were meant to stay elsewhere but that hostel wasn’t answering so we rocked up at this hostel & Christian let us in at 2:30am. He was so lovely and welcoming from start to finish it honestly felt like a family away from home… he made us breakfast every morning and let us use the kitchen as we please. They also offer family dinners. The showers were nice and warm and the rooms were cozy. Iv been too over 50 hostels & Christian was by far the most accomoda...
This was a lovely stay! My friend and I came knocking at this door at 2am due to the prior hostel that we booked with falling through, Cristian welcomed us with open arms and got us settled in right away. This hostel offers 24hr reception, breakfast, and a beautiful home stay that is very cosy. Big thank you to the staff here and Cristian for being so accommodating- he even dropped us off to the airport at 1am! would highly recommend this hostel
Good location and well organised late check-in. Room wasn't very clean and the bed not so comfortable. Kitchen was very dirty. All together fine place for the price, but it could definitely use a little touch up.
The place looked good in the photos, but our experience was disappointing. The host was rude and unwelcoming. We arrived at 8 a.m. and, since the listing mentioned 24 hour reception, we expected someone available. Instead, there was a strong smell of alcohol and smoke. After 30 minutes he let us leave our luggage. When we returned for check-in, he was still in his room and no one at the reception. The room and bathroom were extremely dirty, with hair everywhere. Not reccomended.

The Hostel is really nice, if you know what to expect. The owner lives there with his kids, who are around. They're all really friendly and helpful, but it's got a different vibe. The Owner leaves his food on the stove quite regularly, which can be annoying, if you want to cook. It's overall clean, but not exceptional. It's good for some nights, but don't expect a regular hostel experience.

I had a lovely time at Patagonia House! It had such a cozy vibe and Cristian and the volunteers were all so welcoming. For all the digital nomads — I am working remotely and this hostel had the best wifi I’ve had so far in South America. I’d definitely recommend if people are stopping in Punta Arenas!
