La Palmera Hostel

TRÈS DÉCEVANT. Les lits en hauteur sont dangereux : ma copine est tombée et s’est bloquer le dos. La cuisine n’est pas accessible en continu, ce qui est peu pratique. La serviette qu’on m’a donnée était sale et tachée, il n’y avait pas de tapis de bain, donc le sol devenait glissant en sortant de la douche. La ventilation dans le lit était insuffisante. De plus, une fille du personnel étaient peu professionnel et ne nous aidait pas à résoudre nos problèmes.

If you like 5 star hotels this is not the place for you. Rooms are not well put together and extremely basic. No security. Doors and windows aren’t secure. Staff were rude and not very helpful. I would not recommend staying here.

No aceptan pago en tarjetas o digital. El cajero automatico más cercano queda a 30 min caminando, perdí un montón de tiempo solo por eso y encima de todo.

El hostal es bonito pero el servicio de desayuno incluido en realidad no viene incluido, pues te toca a ti mismo hacer el desayuno (lo que terminas pagando por desayuno incluido es el derecho a cocinar huevos y a servirte cereal) muy mal detalle que deberían aclarar antes.

The beds were nice and comfy with a good amount of privacy and a personal fan. The free salsa classes in the evening were also really good. Did not find the hostel to be that social and there was a large number of volunteers that made it feel pretty cliquey and kind of spoiled the social vibe

overall ok facility. staff could be more accommodating, maintenance staff in particular. generally inflexible in rooming situation (although they're volunteers, so they don't know how to use the mgmt system well). 1/4 score on the burrito test. Burrito test - the ability to access rudimentary food/cooking facilities at any time (1 = can access fridge, 2 = can heat water for tea/soup, 3 = can microwave a burrito, 4 = full kitchen/fridge access 24/7)

Staff is nice and helpfull. Atmosphere is odd. Not a lot going on other than going out. Showers are cold. Take toilet paper, they don’t have it.

Die Mitarbeiter arbeiten nur wenn du sie findest und darum bittest zu arbeiten, öfter aber sind sie selber mit ihren Freunden. Am Samstag sollte es eigentlich in la Caldera del Diablo gehen, aber die eine meinte zu uns heute ist der letzte Tag einer Freundin und deren Gruppe geht heute lieber woanders hin. In unserem Zimmer ging die Spülung nur wenn man Glück hatte (wiederlich)

The location is so isolated. Felt super un safe around the area. The volunteers were rude& clicky except for the bartender. Comfy beds is the only positive thing about this place.

Super hostel avec tout ce qu'il faut. Les lits sont confortables, tout est propre, les espaces communs sont grands et agréables. Et la cuisine est très bien équipée! Les cours de salsa/bachata tous les soirs sont un vrai plus !

Very social and relaxing hostel. you get in contact very fast with other travelers and there so many places where you can just relax. Through the WhatsApp group you will be informed about activities. I can also recommend the salsa classes. the group one is for free.

Hands-down, the best host I’ve stayed in South America. The atmosphere, the facilities, the staff, the dance classes, the great coffee. You will feel comfortable either to have a more chill time, or more wild time in Cali.

This hostel is everything. Feels like a family of travelers from all over the world. I have not a single complaint.

Eins der besten Hostel in denen wir übernachtet haben! Es war so gut das wir immer wieder verlängert haben, sodass wir am Ende anstatt 4 Nächte 10 dort geblieben sind und es war super sauber, die Stimmung war total schön und die Menschen waren richtig nett. Das Gebäude ist auch super schön und gibt einem ein Gefühl von Zuhause

So so great! I really loved my time here. It’s a little far from the main area of restaurants and cafes but it’s still a safe and calm location. Everyone was so social and so dedicated to salsa

La Palmera is my favorite hostel I’ve ever stayed at- I originally booked 3 nights but ended up staying almost 2 weeks. It truly feels like a home and there’s people who stay for longer periods of time so there’s a sense of community. It has everything you need: cozy places to hangout, an awesome kitchen, salsa classes every night, curtains on all the beds, and more! STAY AT LA PALMERA!! I could not recommend it enough :)

Une des meilleures auberges que j’ai fait en Colombie. Elle est souvent complète donc il faut s’y prendre un peu en avance. L’emplacement est top, calme et safe. Les zones communes sont vraiment très agréables. Les cours de danse du soir sont inégaux selon les profs (deux très bien, un qui laisse à désirer). Le personnel est top, je reviendrais sans aucun doute.

One of my favourite hostels ever, I stayed for 10 days. It’s really hard to fault if you’re looking for a chill, wholesome and comfortable stay in Cali! The building is amazing with soo much common space to enjoy - cafe, lounges, dining/ work spaces, the best equipped kitchen I’ve seen, garden, hammocks, rooftop, bar. The beds extremely comfy and everything is very clean. They offer all the activities you need - fantastic dance studio and tours too. Credit to all Palmera staff and volunte...

Eines der besten Hostel in denen ich jemals war. Das Personal kennt den Namen von jedem Gast und die Tanzschule ist direkt im Haus und die Lehrer super. Die Dachterrasse ist super einladen und das Hostel schön.

Hot & good pressured water, nice house, feels like family, nice areas to sit in. Would come again

We had a great stay at this hostel. The private room is huge and perfect for two people, it was really nice to have a balcony as well. The manager went above and beyond to help us with a medical problem, which we wouldn’t have managed to sort out otherwise. The free salsa classes were great too. Perfect for a stay in Cali, very much recommend.

Jose and the rest of the staff were amazing during our week stay in Cali. The place is really clean including the kitchen and bathrooms. The daily activities were great and the salsa teachers are amazing. Shout out to my hermano Camilo

Super schönes Hostel mit Dachterrasse, Garten und vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten draußen. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr entspannt und gesellig. Die kostenlosen Salsa Gruppenstunden haben immer viel Spaß gemacht. Ich empfehle das Hostel zu 100% weiter! :)

This place was recommended to me by a few people, it is worth the hype! The rooms were so clean, very comfortable, and the beds have all the things you need: curtain, fan, light, shelf. All the staff deserve an honorable mention as they make this place magic. The free salsa classes were so much fun. The kitchen is huge, well equipped, and super clean! The breakfast is good, and you can cook it yourself. This place actually felt like a home! I will recommend to anyone who goes to Cali!

Best hostel of my travels! The right amount of social without being forced, great kitchen, lots of chill spaces and great coffee shop. If you like salsa and want to learn, this is the place! Something to do every night here, wish I could have stayed longer!

Das Hostel ist so toll! Super Social, gut organisiert und alle sind richtig nett und hilfsbereit. Ich habe mich sehr sicher gefühlt, das Personal gibt tolle Tipps und sauber war es auch:) Außerdem gibt es gratis Frühstück und Dance Classes!

Lovely stay. Comfortable beds, clean hostel, nice kitchen, and dining area. The group dance classes were fun and my private lessons with Camilo were absolutely fantastic! Nice people all around.
