The doubleroom we got was way too expensive for what we got. It was very humid, tiny and old and door could not be closed properly. Even if locked, someone entered in our room in the middle of the night by mistake.
The photos online are old! The host is nice, but we just did the check-in and then for the next three days nobody was ever there for cleaning or upkeep. The communal area looks like a thriftstore with random things standing around. There is no atmosphere at all. The showers have no showerhead, the sinks nearly fall of the wall (there is warm water at least). In the private room it smelled so strongly of perfume, that I believe they tried to cover mold smell or something. I was kept awake by a r...
+ Situado en una óptima posición y al lado se encuentra un parqueadero donde pagando se puede dejar cómodamente el vehículo.
- Desde que uno se acerca se siente un olor a incienso que rápidamente se entiende que es para disimular el fuerte olor a perro, la limpieza no es su punto fuerte.
Super cold during the night, basically just a wodden hut with lots of holes in between. Very humid at night. Toilet door couldn’t close properly. Staff was super nice
Un peu chère pour ce que c'est. Il n'y a pas de prise près du lit. Sinon l'hostel est sympa.
It's a bit expensive for what it is, there's no socket by the bed, otherwise the hostel is nice.
Very rustic hostel, the team is very nice but, my room was small, no locker, couldn't even lock the door... Couldn't lock the door of the shower as well... It's a shame because the place il pretty.
The property is located between two buildings and down a hill. The dorms have no doors in the bathrooms and there's only a shower door giving you privacy. The hostel is quiet and not very social. There is still construction around the rooms and no lockers. In my opinion, there are better hostels in Salento at a better rate.
Wendy is wonderful, helpful and makes you feel home. The place is cozy and easy to meet people. The rooms are very basic and it’s nu exemption that you can use the kitchen. The private room couldn’t lock and there were no lockers. Worth of money is a bit skewed.

- Cama incómoda, se puede oír el ruido de las demás habitaciones y de las zonas comunes. Ausencia de una mesa o algún mueble auxiliar, una de las toallas que nos dieron estaba rota.
+ Ubicado a 3 minutos del centro de Salento, muy cómodo, ofrecían tinto y agua en el lugar.

it's a really quiet hostel, a lot of nature around. The owners are really friendly and accommodating! hot shower also !!

Nous avons reçu un excellent accueil et avons passé le nouvel an 2026 avec la famille qui tient le logement. C'était une merveilleuse immersion dans la tradition colombienne. Le logement est très proche de la place centrale et les commodités de base sont disponibles. Le logement demeure simple mais propre, confortable et sécuritaire. Merci encore à Natalia et Augusto pour leur accueil. Meilleurs vœux pour 2026.
We received an excellent welcome and spent the new year 2026 with the family that owns the accommodation. it was a wonderful immersion in the Colombian tradition. the accommodation is very close to the central square and basic amenities are available. the accommodation remains simple but clean, comfortable and safe. thank you again to Natalia and Augusto for their hospitality. best wishes for 2026.
+ Hostel Johnnier was a great place to stay. The location was perfect as it was very close to the main square. The host was so friendly and made us feel so welcome during our stay. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great, we would love to stay again.

La localización esta muy bien, justo a la par del centro, pero parece que esta uno en el campo, un detalle es que el acceso no es adaptado a las personas conmovilidad reducida. La comunicación con el personal fue muy fluida y fueron muy amables y atentos en general. Las habitaciones estaban suficientemente equipadas y nos dieron cobijas extra para el frío. Detalle que no me gusto, no pudimos usar la cocina de gas, porque no estaban los quemadores y tenía algunos trastos sucios.
The location is very good, right next to the center, but it looks like this one is in the countryside, one detail is that the access is not adapted to people with reduced mobility.The communication with the staff was very fluid and they were very friendly and attentive in general.The rooms were sufficiently equipped and gave us extra blankets for the cold.Detail that I don't like, we couldn't use the gas stove, because there were no burners and it had some dirty stuff.

+ La ubicación es excelente, muy cerca a la plaza principal. La atención de doña Eliana es muy buena, nos orientó sobre los planes para realizar en el sitio. Ofrecen café y agua.

They were closed for renovations, which was not indicated online when I booked, and I arrived at night. They let me stay anyways, which was INCREDIBLY kind, and gave me a private room instead of a dorm. But because of the renovations, the kitchen nor breakfast wasn't available, which is partially why I chose the place, and it was a bit disorganized due to the construction. If it had been open, it would have been a real nice, quiet, place to stay, with lots of farm animals and friendly staff.
