Emerald Palace

€950 was stolen from our dorm after lockers were broken. The lockers are so bad that it took only 3 minutes to break and steal. No dorm keys were given, though they existed. Staff lied, claiming keys weren’t present, then later said we should’ve asked. When questioned, the manager said, “What if the thief was from your dorm — what use are keys then?” They blamed others, misled us about calling police.. Dishonest, unsafe, and negligent. Avoid this place.

This property was only good for its location. The staff wouldn’t turn on the AC. And there is no lift so be prepared to climb up with your luggage. There were no organized events and not a lot of common space to hang and make friends

Wouldn’t recommend this hostel for that horrendous price for a longer stay. There were no plugs at the beds, a 6 bed dorm only had 3 plugs in total (kitchen+bathroom). Everything is super old and dirty. There is no lift, the stairs in the dorm itself are impossible to walk with heavy luggage. There are no social places to meet other people. If you're paying 100 euros for a hostel, a clean and well-maintained facility should be the least. This hostel fell far short of those basic expectations. The bathroom was filthy, the shower head was covered in mold, meaning guests were essentially showering in contaminated water. Additionally, the kitchen and furniture were in a state of disrepair. Fridge full of rotten food. You have to pay extra for a towel and locker. Ridiculous! Positive: the staff was great, location in the centre.

I would like to say that it might be a good place for Europeans. The receptionist asked me a racial question that was stupid and then when he realized I was angry he told me it was just a joke. A Part from that ,they only accepted cash.I Booked through an application.

I do not recommend this hostel. There is no elevator and rooms are one the third floor. No air conditioning at all (only inside the room). You don’t get a towel and the price is astronomical. Also, the staff kept commenting about my looks (only boys) and saying inappropriate things. Solo female travelers please stay away..

Really bad, smelly and noisy.

This was the worst hostel expierence I have had. The staff was super unfriendly and the bathroom smelled really bad. The atmosphere was cold and anonymous. In the hallway was a super sexist picture of men harassing a obviously frightened woman and when we tried to give constructive feedback about it, the person at the counter got furious and insulted us (“va van culo”) which translates as go lick your ass. Would NOT recommend this place.

El lugar es una porquería. Primero que si reservas por el sito tenes que pagar en efectivo y no aceptan tarjeta. El wifi funciona pésimo y la atención de la recepción es un desastre. Tendrían que sacarlo del sito

The customer service was horrible. I emailed them ahead of time that I wouldn’t make the first day and to not cancel my booking. When I get there I find out they canceled my booking on their own record but didn’t tell me about it or change my status on hostel world to canceled. They tried denying me a room and said I needed to go somewhere else because they were full. After arguing with them for 20 minutes they finally added another bed and let me stay one night. They had no problem charging...

Lugar exatamente como nas fotos, muito organizado, seguro, atendimento excelente! Ambiente tranquilo e aconchegante! Recomendo!!!!

Although short, my stay was good with this hostel. Very attentive staff, and they greet you with a warm smile. The beds were clean and made, and washroom was neat. If your bed is by the window, you can get the nicest view of the sky while sleeping, sadly i had clouds hovering over because of the weather.

Overall, no notes!!! It was way better than expected- we had so much room. It was SO crucial having all the following: super friendly staff, big rooms, bathroom in the suite, so much space even with shared room, view of the centre, and just overall best bang for your buck! I will be coming back!! My friend and I LOVED it!!

está muy bien ubicado y el baño se encuentra en buen estado, así como los espacios compartidos. el único problema es que las camas están muy juntas y sin ningún tipo de separación, por lo que sí te toca una persona que ronque o haga ruidos en la noche, lo escucharás todo, lo mismo con la luz, aunque cada cama tiene luz individual, están tan pegadas las camas, que ilumina la mitad de la habitación

Love the Emerald Palace. Location near the train station is ideal. The Duomo, museums, the river, so many restaurants - so close. They could use another bathroom or 2. Lots of steps - up to the lobby then up again to the kitchen. But its an old building with plenty of charm and I like the stone steps. Nice people staying there. Is as social as you want to be. Staff very friendly - they care. Be sure to meet Mateo, he is full of good info about Florence and really, all of Italy. Thank you, Mateo!

Great location, clean rooms, I slept better than I normally do in hostels, extra large closets. The kitchen is awkward. There’s a small area with a hob, microwave, and sink, but the dishes and cutlery are in a different room.

me tocó una habitación soñada pero la verdad al estar pegada a la calle de la feria se escuchaba el ruido de la calle y me costó dormirme! los trabajadores del hostel son genial y predispuestos y hay café gratis!!

The staff were lovely and the location is great! However, the whole place is pretty run down and did the reviews and pictures did not feel accurate. Surfaces were clean, but everything else felt quite dirty. I’ve stayed in many hostels and felt let down by this one.

Siamo stati in questo ostello per due notti e ci siamo trovati benissimo sin dall'arrivo. La posizione è centralissima a 2 minuti a piedi dalla Cattedrale, tutto il personale con cui abbiamo avuto a che fare durante il nostro soggiorno è stato molto disponibile e simpatico e l'ostello in generale è pulito e in buone condizioni. Lo terrò sicuramente in considerazione per le prossime volte!

The hostel is in such a great location — super convenient for getting around! It has everything you need, including a shared lounge and kitchen. The staff at the front desk were also really friendly and welcoming.

this is where you wanna be in florence,right in the center and a short walk away from all forms of public transportation. they clean every day, have a fully equipped kitchen, and free luggage storage. But the best thing about this place is the staff, the kindest most amazing and helpful people, they will do anything in their power to help you, so don't hesitate asking questions. they are also super accommodating, anything I needed was immediately handled. I had an amazing stay.

Hostel without bunk beds, which was really refreshing! Location is really good, close to mercato Centrale and other cool spots. The terrace next to the kitchen was nice to relax too. Staff was really nice and helpful. Overall atmosphere was not the most social though.

Great place to stay in a very old building. (Think no elevator, very high ceilings, lots of stairs. Oh so many stairs.) Room and common areas were very clean, everything easy to access. Staff very friendly. The San Lorenzo street market starts literally right outside the door to the hostel building. Numerous delicious restaurants and shops within steps of the building, as well as historical sights. It's a fairly quick walk from the Florence train station.

lots of pros, lots of cons PROS : - insane location (3mins away from the duomo) - rooftop next to the kitchen (w free coffee) - no bunk beds so no one above/under you to disturb you CONS - one bathroom for a 6-ppl room so you might have to wait to shower / go to the toilet - i would recommend to ask for a bed that’s not on the mezzanine because one person walking on there will shake your whole bed if you’re sleeping - need to pay in cash

La ubicación muy buena, las fotos del lugar no son tan iguales a como es y el baño tenía una perdida. El resto todo perfecto

Very central location. Rooms and bathroom were super clean. The staff were friendly and the bag storage until 8pm was fantastic!
