Gijon Surf Hostel

The hostel overcharged me and requests for the money to be refunded are completely ignored. We asked to change the length of our stay, the staff agreed to this and that we wouldn't have to pay for the unused days. They then charged the full amount to my card without permission. The staff said there was nothing they could do, we should email the owner. The owner has decided to ignore us entirely. Also, the top floor room is like a sauna, very difficult to sleep in there.

I don’t recommend to stay : the location is far from the center and all the facilities ; a mediocre staff: unfriendly, non-professional reception of some members in the face of customer needs and non-compliance with basic rules (party until 1:30 AM with DJ) ; the room is for 12 and is small, in the mezzanine: no real window. BE CAREFUL I would like to start out by saying that this hostel had a lot of nice qualities to it. The bathrooms were typically clean, the breakfasts were nice, and the staff (with one exception) seemed professional. However, my dissatisfaction with this hostel had to deal with how my situation was handled which I feel demonstrated greed, lack of empathy, and some profiling. It's a place where I felt profiled. That would be enough. After underlining that I'm Italian they assigned me a bed with a broken light and broken AC plug.. when I told them I have been asked to live with that. The door was always open the boss appeared drunk and partying with guests too often to be fairly productive. I left without further requests, first ones staying unfulfilled. It's a house adapted.. not a real hostel.. The closest coffee at 500 m. Not deadly but..

Good clean hostel but I found it hard to get a good nights sleep and it’s definitely outside of the main city. The bunk bed were really wobbly and any movement from the person in the top bunk woke me up. Overall this place seems great for activities but if you’re like me you may not get the best sleep here.

Too far from City center(40 Minutes), beach or bus/ train station. I don t recommend it for surf camp because you have to walk 15-20minutes for going to the beach. You have bus near the hostel one or two per hour Nevertheless the house is nice, kitchen too, clean and there is a garden.

I liked this place for sure. The breakfasts were good and it has a nice location, but the atmosphere was kind of strange. As a guest it felt like a summer camp for the staff and we were just there to watch — kind of felt like a background character in a show about the volunteers. They really stick to themselves and the rest of the hostel community was kind of neglected

Muy amable la gente que atiende en el hostel. Muy linda energía en general. Ubicado en un lugar tranquilo, muy lindo y cerca del centro. Volvería 100%. Recomiendo muchísimo.

el hostel está súper bien. hay muy buen ambiente y las camas muy cómodas. la ubicación un poco lejos del centro y poca frecuencia de buses para volver. la limpieza no es su fuerte pero el buen ambiente lo compensa.

Aunque yo hablo ingles, mi pareja no lo habla, y le ha molestado bastante que en un hostal en españa, nos han podido atender solo en ingles ya que no hablaban español, de resto la casa es preciosa y esta en una buena ubicacion, la habitacion fue bastante comoda, solo hay una ducha y se hospedan bastantes personas, esta bien comunicado con autobuses

El personal es muy atento y tienen muchas actividades. Las camas son cómodas y la zona y vistas son muy bonitas. Lo recomiendo mucho. Es mi hostal favorito.

I had a wonderful stay at Gijón Surf Hostel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to make new friends and surf. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the house itself was beautiful.

Primera vez en un hostel y me encanto. Si eres alguien extrovertido será mejor aún. El hostel cuenta con muchas actividades que mejoran la experiencia. Los voluntarios son amables y parecen uno más lo que me gustó.

Loved this place!! Such a good group of people, vibes, activities and space. I went surfing even though I was very beginner and had a lot of fun with the group! I highly recommend this hostel!

Es una pasada de hostel. Tanto la ubicación como el ambiente es súper recomendable. Las clases de surf también están genial. Espero volver pronto.

LOVED this hostel, the staff are incredibly welcoming, free breakfast is great, everything was clean and close to some really pretty beaches. Couldn’t recommend this hostel enough

I loved my experience here. I was supposed to stay for 3 days and I ended up staying for 8. I met so many great people. The atmosphere was nice and there was always something fun to do. The beds were clean and the kitchen had everything I needed. The volunteers and staff made this my favourite experience on Hostelworld. They were amazing and I had so much fun meeting them. Shout out to Beth, Sandra, Kristina, Dominika, Mari, Miguel, Emmy, and Michael. Miss you all already.

Made what will be life long friendships and of course sorta how to surf (was my first time) 🏄‍♂️!!!

struttura molto bella e piacevole che peró manca in alcune cose. troppo poco 1 bagno per 16 persone, colazione molto scarsa e di bassa qualità ma atmosfera molto piacevole e personale top. consigliato ma serve qualche miglioria alla struttura.
