+ The location
- We paied for the air conditioning they said they had it when going into the room the AC wasn't working at all, and at the end we had to looked for another placed I asked for our money and they did not provide the full amount we paid even dough they were at fault. The pictures also showed a pool, and they don't have a pool. Awful place don't recommend at all

- Primero el camarote la parte superior no tiene barandas, sonaba un montón. Los cuartos son tan cerrados que son demasiado calientes. El baño es muy pequeño y olía mal. El agua de donde se lavan las manos y dientes va a caer a la ducha l oque n pes nada higiénico. El ruido es demasiado en la noche es imposible dormir. Y en las camas había algo que daba comezón también.

Women, just keep reading, you will understant why I'm starting with this. Women, PLEASE, AVOID at ALL COSTS "Hostel" Manuel Antonio. If you are a girl or woman you will be mistreated because you are a girl or a woman. I will expose myself just to WARN other female travellers to NOT stay at this place. After I arrived at the hostel and was welcomed by the lovely lady that works there, I went to the beach. When I came back I was tired, sweaty and in complete need of a shower. While at the beach my period came down and as any girl/woman knows, you NEED a shower when you are bleeding from your vagina. I got my stuff and went to the shower area looking forward to getting clean and relaxed. Unfortunately there was no water in the "hostel". Still naked and just dressed in a towel, in other words COMPLETELY VULNERABLE, I asked one person who was around if there was a forecast for the return of the water. He didn't answer my question, just said that the problem was in the whole city and not only at the "hostel". Then the lovely lady who did my check-in asked if I needed a lot of water and I just said I wanted to take a shower. That was the only thing that came out of my mouth. I didn't verbally complain about the situation or complain about the hostel, saying they were guilty and responsible for the lack of water. But then I made the mistake [contains irony] of looking disappointed and frustrated for not being able to proper clean my bleeding vagina, which triggered a male worker of this "hostel". While bringing me a bucket of water that I didn't request from him he said that he was not liking my attitude, that I was not Pura Vida.

+ Nada bueno se puede rescatar la verdad.
- No me gustó absolutamente nada. Baños sin agua, cocina con 2 hornallas para todo el Hostel. Habitaciones muy feas.

+ El personal 10/10 pero las instalaciones no. Estaba muy sucio y cero cómodo. No lo recomiendo. La ubicación es buena.
I would never recommend this place, in the three nights I stayed there, all three I felt unsafe. The first night an older man left a creepy message in the bathroom next to the dorm I was sharing with two other girls, next to nothing was done. We were told it wasn't the first time this had occurred but yet he was still allowed to stay there. The second night my charger was stolen from outside through the fly screen, where there's an obvious hole, this time absolutely nothing was done. Disgusting.
No people there. All by myself. Uncomfortable and hot as f*** when sleeping. Also walls are paper thin so you could hear even the slightest noice from outside. A nearby bar played music until 04:00 in the morning and the walls did not reduce any sound whatsoever
In meinen Zimmer waren die Wände feucht und beschädigt, die Toiletten und Duschen waren dreckig und funktionieren teilweise nicht. Küche ist dreckig und voller Ameisen. Als ich gehen wollte war die Haupttür abgesperrt und kein Personal war da. Das einzige positive ist das ich viele Affen sehen konnte die nah an das Hostel kommen.

El personal excelente, muy amables, me fueron a encontrar, siempre dispuestos a ayudar en todo, hicieron recorrido por lugares cercanos para comer, el servicio 20000/10 Sin embargo, de las 3 duchas solo dos funcionaban y estaban en regulares condiciones no va por la limpieza, es más bien la infraestructura. En una tenían para dejar el shampoo y estaba más que oxidado. El espacio común con todo lo necesario y los que te reciben siempre dispuestos a ayudarte ante cualquier cosa

- Banheiro e camas péssimos, cozinha suja
+ El personal y la facilidad para comprar y comer en locales cercanos.
- Enchufes en las piezas de difícil acceso, infraestructura de baños con muchos problemas, refrigerador para dejar cosas se hace pequeño.
Although the staff were nice and the location is excellent. The bathrooms are horrible, i got electricuted by a unfixed light switch and the bins weren't regularly cleaned.
hostel ouvert sur la rue. assez basique. les portes ferment à clef. pas de rideau mais les lits sont ok. propreté pas excellente. cuisine pas forcément super bien équipée mais ça passe. douches froides et jet pas puissant. bon emplacement
- Pas de lit dans notre dortoir, malgré le fait qu’on ait demandé plusieurs fois quels étaient nos lits… car certains semblaient occupés. Ce qui était finalement le cas pour un des deux lits… heureusement une autre personne est arrivée et nous a déplacé, mais nous avons perdu une heure de sommeil pour rien…
Las fotos no coinciden con la actualidad. El lugar está venido abajo. Las habitaciones no tienen buena ventilación y se sufre el calor por falta de aire acondicionado. La limpieza de escasa o nula. Lo único rescatable es la persona que me entendió. Fue amable y predispuesta dentro de lo que estaba a su alcance

- Estuvimos esperando como 3 horas para el check in ya que solo se puede realizar en una franja horaria de 8 horas , y había gente , solo que no quisieron realizarlo hasta las 14 hs , y mucho calor en las habitaciones , podrían mejorarlo, no es cómodo teniendo en cuenta el precio

El alojamiento cumple con todo lo expuesto. Está muy bien ubicado. Tiene agua caliente y una cocina equipada. No tuve tanta suerte con el ambiente ya que había muy poca gente. Te reciben muy bien y con mucha predisposición! Recomendable
The man at reception was very weird and made me feel very uncomfortable, he kept asking if I was alone and if I had a boyfriend and how old I was and started hitting on me. As a young solo female traveler I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. The hostel is also located right next to the road so it’s very loud when you’re trying to sleep.

+ Pasé solo una noche en el hostal, pero estuvo muy bien. Es muy espacioso, la cocina tiene de todo y el personal es muy amable. La parada del bus está justo enfrente. Se puede ver monos😄
I understand that accommodation prices in tourist destinations are usually high, so I chose one of the most affordable options I could find. I also liked that they offered shared rooms only for women. However, when I arrived, I realized that the photos shown online do not reflect the real condition of the hostel. The place feels quite neglected and disorganized, with different levels and areas that seem poorly maintained. My room was shared with several women, but the door lock was not working...
Das schlimmste Hostel in dem ich in CR war. Das Bett ist fast auseinander gefallen, man ist dreckiger aus der Dusche gekommen als man rein ist und die Zimmertür konnte nicht geschlossen werden. Die Mitarbeiter hat die Situation mit dem Schloss wenig interessiert. Da hat man sich als Frau nicht so sicher gefühlt. Und für das was man kriegt relativ teuer...

+ I really liked staying at this hostel. Don’t even know where to start. The staff is super friendly and open, not distanced at all. There were activities in the evening and the volunteers are super friendly and open people. The kitchen is the cleanest, I‘ve seen, compared to any other hostels, with cleaning personnel cleaning it every day. The hostel is colorful and the kitchen is open, located next to a forest so you will really likely see monkeys and toucans. First one‘s might come for a visit, so make sure to not leave your food open! There is a bus going directly to Manuel Antonio, Espadilla Beach and Quepos, which is very cheap. Also there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets.
