Half-WAY HOUSE FOR LOCAL HOMLESS. Worst place in windhoek to stay. Family that has unfortunately turned up to rent a room. Unwelcoming and rude is an understatement and we left after the second night as our room was also being used by local workers and family to use the wardrobes and other closets in room so it meant there was no room for our bags in our doorm. She seems ready to fight over anything even just opening a window. But my favorite part was how she made a very clear point to us all...

The owner/front desk person has terrible customer service. My 2 incidents with her made the experience horrible. As well it's such an old building that it creaks so loud. No fan for a room of 8 people - no ventilation at all. There were mosquitoes in the room - only 2 toilets/washrooms for the whole place. Fridge space is small.

I've been backpacking for a year and my experience at ParadiseGarden stands out as the worst. As many other reviewers say, the staff are abrasive and unkind. They can continue to say "it was not my intent to be rude," but at some point they should own their negative impact on guests. I was scolded for doing things "the wrong way" without notice of what "the right way" was, charged more than the Hostel World invoice price, and found the wifi rarely worked. If you stay, I wish you the best of luck

Strange Hostel. A guest peed in the room. My fjällraven kanken got wet (super disgusting!) and they put it in the washing maschine. Now it is compleatly broken (the backpack is peeling, unstable and the sign is coming off). Nether the Hostel nor the guy can be reached. I had to leave in the morning, shortly after I got my backpack bag, so I never saw this guy again. I got no response to my messages, after I have left. In my point of view the peeing guy has to care about my backpack but yeah.. h...

The guest house is below the usual standards in Namibia. It is old and not well equipped. The owner is not friendly. I would not go back. There are better places for the same price.

We picked this hostel because it won "best hostel in Namibia" two years in a row. However, this turned out to be my worst hostel stay in over 6 years of travel and across multiple continents. - Terrible mattress - Shower was so mouldy and gross we preferred not to shower - Screaming party went on until 2 am, then terrible guitar solos ensued until 3 - Passive aggressive staff kept making snide remarks to those of us in the kitchen about the mess left from the party Truly the worst time.

Overall the stay wasn’t that bad, but they did have a door lock, and they didn’t give us the key for the locker

This is a wonderful place , the staff is extremely helpful and friendly and is trying to make your stay a perfect one . A special mention about Yamile who is such a great person , she will be there for you . I really appreciate the well equipped kitchen It is a nice house and you definitely feel at home . Thank you so much .

Great hostel, great staff and great atmosphere.

It lucks mosquito nets and fan given the weather in Windhoek, apart from that, the place is pretty cool

Good hostel environment. Although I went out on my second day and came back in the afternoon to find that the hostel staff had given my bed to someone else, even though I was still booked for 2 more nights. I took another bed in the same room, but wasn't thrilled about it.

Die Besitzerin ist sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich sehr willkommen. Auch die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und der Aufenthaltsraum schön und es herrscht eine gute Atmosphäre. Nurbder Pool hält nicht was er verspricht. Aber da wir eh hauptsächlich in der Stadt waren, hat uns das nicht so gestört.

Lo recomiendo 100%. Encontré un clima súper amigable como en casa. Yamile me hizo sentir comm en casa y siempre estuvo disponible cuando necesite info de Namibia. Súper recomendable! Tienen que ir !

Best Hostel of my Africa trip. Really social and good to meet other traveler, it’s clean and the bed are really confortable. They have a big kitchen with anything you need to cook. The owner and the people who work there are really amazing.

Great place to start/end your vacation in Namibia Lots of communal areas and nice places to hang out inside and outside Big and comfortable kitchen and lockable lockers in each room Only downside for me was the lack of power outlets in some of the rooms Overall it was a great stay and I’ll for sure come back next time I’m in Windhoek

I loved this hostel, very close to the main attractions in the city. The staff is lovely and very helpful, they made it feel like home.

Good place to arrive in Windhoek, good kitchen and waste separation system. Nice outdoor area and comfy beds. Enjoyed it!

The front desk team was great and helpful. That said, I’d consider this a last-resort option for a stay in Windhoek. There isn’t a ton to do in the city, so if you’re just looking for a budget-friendly place to sleep, it can be decent value. The room did the job, but it didn’t feel clean, and the shared shower was not great. The hostel is also far from most places, and since the city isn’t particularly walkable or safe for getting around on foot, you’ll likely rely on taxis or Ube...
