clean hostel with good facilities, super clean and good elaborate breakfast included, also just a 10 min walk from the centre/markets etc. However, it totally lacked a social vibe/most people kept to themselves so if you're here with someone else or just for one night its fine, but maybe don't expect to meet others to have dinner with or go out with. The staff also didn't do anything to help ignite a social spark.

Sehr schönes Hostal. Die Besitzerin und das Personal sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Auch wenn das Hostal etwas weiter vom Zentrum entferntiegt ist alles fußläufig in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Es ist sehr ruhig und die Zimmer sind schön und sauber. Sehr empfehlenswert.

We were put in a loft room, which is not displayed in the photos. It had an extremely low ceiling, and you could only stand up straight in the centre of the room. There were no curtains. Had we been aware of this we would have not booked the room. Great breakfast and helpful staff, nice grounds.

Esperanza e suo marito sono due perfetti padroni di casa, colazioni fresche e tipiche ogni mattina, in grado di soddisfare chiunque. Camera e bagni puliti regolarmente e atmosfera rilassante. Avrei dato il massimo del pungeggio ma la sera in cui dovevamo andare via siamo stati per quasi 40 minuti in attesa del ragazzo che si occupava della reception che aveva i nostri bagagli, siamo arrivati al pulman un minuto prima che partisse e non è stato affatto piacevole

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Tequio, Ivan was so welcoming and couldn't do more to help us with anything we needed. The room and en-suite was clean and comfortable, the location of the hostel is really good. The breakfast provided was excellent every time, was a real highlight of staying there. Thanks for a great stay in San Cris!

I had the best stay at this hostel. IVAN is a great hostess. Couldn’t be any better. The house has a typical blend with the area.. everything was extremely clean. IVONNE is a gourmet cook so he has a great breakfast. He is very down to earth and very helpful.. he help with my trips. I will definitely recommend to stay here and we’ll come back again. This is not a party Hostal, a great place to spread out and rest. The rooftop has a beautiful view of the town. It is warm and quiet .

Very clean, very quiet!

Amazing hospitality from the staff - allowed us to check in early after an overnight bus and helped contact tour companies when they were late. Great breakfast!! Also nice to be able to use all the facilities after we had checked out too.

Beautiful, quiet property located a few minutes walk outside of the town centre. I stayed in a four bed (two bunk) room, sharing with only one other. The breakfast was lovely and the host made me feel so at home. It was coffee, toast with homemade jam, juice and a small traditional meal (eggs and beans, tamale etc.). As a solo female, definitely wasn't a social hostel but was perfect for me looking for a break from others and some privacy. Other guests were around 40-60 years old during my stay.

Beautiful hostel. If you are looking for a relaxing few days in San Cris then this is the place for you! Felt like more of a home than a hostel. All the staff were amazing and helpful. The breakfast was amazing every day. Location is great too, really close to shops, bars and restaurants. Highly recommended Casa Tequio for anyone wanting a few relaxing days to recharge.

It was by far the best hostel we stayed in!!! Especially Esperanza and her Team who were soo friendly and would always help with recommendations! Also the breakfast was awesome! We loved our stay here! Unfortunately it’s not a really social hostel, so I would not recommend come alone :)

We loved our stay at Casa Tequio. It felt more like a bnb than a hostel. The location was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Personnel tellement gentil, petit dej copieux et mexicain (si l'on le souhaite), tout est très propre et bien entretenu. les lits sont comfortables. idéal pour se reposer après sa journée !

The hostel is beautiful and calm, more like a home stay. There breakfast is 3 courses and delicious with lots of options. There isn’t a big staff presence with a sign on the door throughout giving a WhatsApp number. No central communal space to hang out meaning it’s hard to meet people

Such a beautiful hostel in a great location, walking distance from everything in town and has everything we wanted (kitchen, TV room, terrace etc). Ended up extending our stay because we loved it so much! Also have to mention the wonderful breakfast every morning and lovely staff :)

Amazing place in a super traditional home. The volunteers there are super super nice, and breakfast is amazing. The only downer is that there weren’t shower in my dorm, which could be ok, but it can get a bit chilly in San Cris, so coming out from the shower with your hair wet at night from across the patio can be a bit challenging.

We stayed here on our last night in San Cris and wish we had stayed here for our whole stay. Casa Tequio is welcoming, clean and has everything you need. Esperanza is so kind and accommodating. The breakfast is absolutely delicious and we loved the homemade jams. The location can be a quiet walk back after dark so solo female travellers may wish to get a taxi which are very accessible.

we had a super relaxed stay here, loved it. beautiful rooftop & the best free breakfast I've had in all my travels!
