Ubox Samui Hostel

Quite a different experience than when I came two years ago. Staff were super sweet and friendly ( mostly ) but the hygiene was BAD. First night, there was a mouse in our room. After getting moved to another dorm, we then found bed bugs as well. The hostel was super quiet to be paying 15 euros, 500 baht deposit and to be not be allowed to use a unused towel 1 minute after checking out because I’ve checked out and it’s not paid for lol. BEDBUGS! The room was okay but not the cleanest I’ve been in, and two of the dorms had bed bugs including ours. The staff were nice about it and washed our clothes for free but god knows how many more are still there. Our friend later stayed in this hostel also got bedbugs.

Honestly not the greatest hostel i’ve stayed at. It’s pretty out of the way if you want to be close to where things go on. It’s not the cleanest either the curtains are barely cover the bed it’s very ehh for the hostel life. However the staff is very very sweet and helpful. its ok if you just need a bed for a night.

THEY HAVE BED BUGS & NO WIFI IN ROOMS When I informed staff about it they didn’t seem shocked at all so must have been a reoccurring thing. Spoke to someone else that had stayed there a couple months ago and she also said she had seen bed bugs so it’s clearly been going on for a while and have no mean of fixing it The only positive to this hostel is it’s location

The place was infested with bed bugs, staff wouldn’t give a refund. The sheets were also stained with blood, hair and toenails. I wouldn’t recommend.

We had a rat in our room running around on someone’s bed in our dorm. The bathrooms in this hostel are some of the worst I’ve ever seen, so so disgusting and dirty. The staff are so friendly and if there was some social events planned this could be a good hostel but it just feels a bit dead. I would absolutely NOT stay here again.

Toen we aankwamen was de kamer erg vies, er lagen nog spullen van iemand die al was vertrokken en we vonden een beestje in het bed waarna we zijn uitgecheckt.

There was a mouse in our doorm room twice only the second time they decided to move us. I paid in full on my card and was told I needed to give a 400 baht deposit for key and towel which wasn’t a problem when I then came to check out today they claimed this was payment for the room and I was not owed anything. I have the screenshot of the payment on my Monzo not happy

Excellent stay.....in the center of Chaweng Beach....the staff were kind and competent....and excellent price....the best choice for Koh Samui.

muy limpio y buena ubicación. personal es muy amable. el baño igual en todo momento muy limpio. lo único malo para mí es que al ser tipo container se escuchaba mucho la bulla cuando Alguien subía por las escaleras.

The best hostel 10/10/10! Highly recommend. The staff are lovely, the rooms are clean, and the bed is very comfortable. Great location only 3 minutes from the beach, with lots of restaurants and close to the party area. I’d definitely come back!

I stayed at Ubox Hostel Koh Samui and had a great experience. The location is excellent, close to many attractions and with easy access to the beach. The atmosphere is relaxing, with a bar and swimming pool to enjoy during the stay. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. It’s a perfect place for both travelers who want to explore and those looking for a chill holiday in Koh Samui.

This was my first time staying at a hostel, and it exceeded my expectations. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was clean. The staff were extremely friendly. The bathroom was always clean—even though it was used all the time, the housekeeping staff cleaned it regularly. There’s also a private beachfront and a bar, and it’s close to everything. I will definitely come back again! 👏🏻🥳

Nice place, booked the private room. Very nice style and big bathroom.A lot of bars around. The prices are a little bit higher because its really touristy. We rented a scooter and explored the island.

I was in one of the rooms closer to the beach - it was very dirty. No bin in the bedroom, only in the bathroom. Bidet hose was quite literally a pressure hose and was not sanitary nor safe. The mattresses under the sheets were mouldy and the bathroom bin was not changed in the two days I was there. Insects of all varieties in the bathroom, some worm things and a gecko I've named Simon. My room mate regularly left the door unlocked as it's locked with a key. My locker didn't lock either.

A nice hostel, however I had to move rooms during our stay because there were termites in one of the beds in my dorm, and the room I was moved too did not lock which made me feel unsafe

Excellent hostel, really good value for Koh Samui. Facilities are great, swimming pool is really good bonus. Room was clean and bed was super comfy, only downsides would be quite a small room so not much space for moving around and no rail on top bunk so I nearly rolled off!

Nice hostel in an expensive area of Samui. Staff were friendly and facilities were fine and the pool included. The bar is expensive compared to other places so I never ate or drank here even with the 20% discount. I would come back to Koh Samui but not this area again. The beaches and beach clubs are good for a few days. It’s definitely more flashpackers over backpackers vibe in Samui.

Not a social hostel besides what it says online. My room felt dirty, stains on the bedding and curtain. Dirty mask left in locker. The door to the room didn’t close properly so always appeared to be open and my curtain didn’t close fully. Was quite loud being right next to the door but room was by female bathroom so we could not hear the street noice but the smell from bathroom was horrible. Pretty good hostel, I stayed here 4 nights in a 4 bed female dorm. I found this place a bit hard to navigate as the rooms are quite small, there wasn't much space to keep your luggage and realistically only one person could have their bags out at once. It wasn't super social, there were a lot of pre-existing friend groups staying there (i.e. a bit cliquey) but it's still possible to make friends if you get lucky.

I stayed in both the bungalow and the double room. Both were spotless. The bungalow was great and very comfortable. Staff were always very helpful and friendly. The location next to the beach is great. One major flaw is that if you stay in anything other than the bungalows, there is music playing so loud every night until 11:30pm. Impossible to sleep before then.

Overall a great hostel for anyone staying in the Chaweng area!

Great location on the main strip but in a quieter part. Social hostel with events everyday and a great overall atmosphere. Very clean and can tell staff take pride in looking after the place. Extra tip: try the burgers from the tiki bar- 10/10. Overall great stay and would come again soon

Rooms were small but as expected, and didn’t bother me as you don’t spend much time there. Bathrooms are spacious and clean and staff are helpful.

Hat alles was man braucht, leider sehr laut, da die Flugzeuge knapp drüberfliegen und die Boxen nicht so gut isoliert sind. Und die Klimaanlage war zu kalt. Ansonsten sehr sauber und man fühlt sich sicher
